Several different control structures have been proposed for reactive distillation columns. The appropriate control structure depends on the flowsheet and on the type of reactions occurring in the column. If two reactants are involved and if it is desirable to operate the process without any excess of reactant, it is necessary to manage the fresh feed streams so that the stoichiometry is exactly balanced. A composition analyzer that measures an internal composition in the column is often required. However, if two products are produced, it is possible to avoid the use of an analyzer by using two temperatures in the column to adjust the two feed streams. This type of structure was proposed by Roat et al. [Roat, S., Downs. J., Vogel, E., Doss, J., 1986. Integration of rigorous dynamic modeling and control system synthesis for distillation columns. In: Chemical Process Control—CPC III. Elsevier, Amsterdam.] for the ideal reaction A+BC+D in one of the earliest papers dealing with reactive distillation control.The purpose of this paper is to explore the effectiveness of this two-temperature control structure for various column designs (number of reactive stages) to quantify the impact of design on controllability. We also discuss the issues of the selection of the trays whose temperatures are to be controlled and the tuning of the two interacting temperature controllers. Disturbances in production rate and fresh feed compositions are made to examine the rangeability of this control structure. Both an ideal reaction system and the methyl acetate system are studied. One of the main conclusions is that the locations of the temperature control trays should be made such that the two temperature controllers both have direct action (an increase in temperature increases feed), which requires negative openloop process gains for both loops.  相似文献

In this paper, we propose a new multicast tree framework to be used in peer-to-peer (P2P) live video streaming systems. The proposed system, adapts the tree links under high peer churn and runs in a totally distributed manner. In order to provide this dynamism and seamless streaming at the same time, we propose a cross layer design involving scalable video codec, backup parents and hierarchical clusters. The performance of the system is measured in real world environment PlanetLab that has nodes distributed all over the world. The experiments show that the proposed system provides high quality of experience (QoE) in terms of Peak Signal to Noise Ratio (PSNR), playback delay and duration of pauses. The proposed system also provides incentive mechanism to its users.  相似文献

Various studies have shown the emergence of cooperative behavior in evolutionary models with repeated local interaction among spatially distributed agents. We investigate to what extent these findings generalize to evolutionary models of price competition among spatially distributed firms. We consider both one- and two-dimensional models, and we vary the amount of information firms have about competitors in their neighborhood. Our computer simulations show that the emergence of cooperative behavior depends strongly on the amount of information available to firms. Firms tend to behave most cooperatively if they have only a very limited amount of information about their competitors. We provide an intuitive explanation for this phenomenon. Our simulations further indicate that three other factors in our models, namely the accuracy of firms’ information, the probability of experimentation, and the spatial distribution of consumers, have little effect on the emergence of cooperative behavior.  相似文献

Producing dimethyl carbonate (DMC) as a green chemical with the desired purity is important in the industry. Although studies on the steady-state design of energy-efficient extractive distillation processes are important for the purification of DMC-methanol (DMC-MeOH) azeotropic mixtures, the dynamic controllability of these processes is also critical in the case of feed condition changes, and it should be investigated carefully. Results of the limited studies in the literature show that changing the operating pressures in extractive distillation processes might have different effects on the dynamic controllability of different systems. Thus, in this study, alternative control strategies are developed for a recently proposed increased-pressure extractive distillation process to separate DMC-MeOH mixture. All control structures are designed using inferential temperature controllers, which have a general acceptance in industrial applications. Effects of different ratio controllers are investigated by evaluating the dynamic responses of control structures for disturbances in feed flowrate and composition. Two metrics including integral absolute error and steady-state deviation of purities are used in the evaluation of alternatives. Results of dynamic simulations show that a control structure including reflux ratio controller is not a suitable strategy for this process. It is demonstrated that a control structure including reflux to feed ratio controller for both distillation columns is necessary for the robust and efficient control of a pressure-increased extractive distillation process. These efficient dynamic results support the economic advantage of increased-pressure extractive distillation process separating DMC-MeOH azeotropic mixtures.  相似文献

In recent years, it has been demonstrated that checklists can improve patient safety significantly. To facilitate the effective use of checklists in daily practice, both the medical community and the informatics community propose to implement checklists in dynamic checklist applications that can be integrated into the clinical workflow and that is specific to the patient context. However, it is difficult to develop such applications because they are tightly intertwined with the content of specific checklists. We propose a platform that enables access to dynamic checklist applications by configuring the infrastructures provided in the platform. Then, the applications can be developed without time-consuming programming work. We define a number of design criteria regarding point of care and clinical processes by analyzing the existing checklist applications and the lessons learned from implementations. Then, by applying rule-based clinical decision support and workflow management technologies, we design technical mechanisms to satisfy the design criteria. A dynamic checklist application platform is designed based on these mechanisms. Finally, we build a platform in various design cycle iterations, driven by multiple clinical cases. By applying the platform, we develop nine comprehensive dynamic checklist applications with 242 dynamic checklists. The results demonstrate both the feasibility and the overall generic nature of the proposed approach. We propose a novel platform for configuring dynamic checklist applications. This platform satisfies the general requirements and can be easily configured to satisfy different scenarios in which safety checklists are used.  相似文献

Fuzzy predictive control integrates conventional model predictive control with techniques from fuzzy multicriteria decision making, translating the goals and the constraints to predictive control in a transparent way. The information regarding the (fuzzy) goals and the (fuzzy) constraints of the control problem is combined by using a decision function from the theory of fuzzy sets. This paper investigates the use of fuzzy decision making (FDM) in model predictive control (MPG), and compares the results to those obtained from conventional MPG. Attention is also paid to the choice of aggregation operators for fuzzy decision making in control. Experiments on a nonminimum phase, unstable linear system, and on an air-conditioning system with nonlinear dynamics are studied. It is shown that the performance of the model predictive controller can be improved by the use of fuzzy criteria in a fuzzy decision making framework.  相似文献

Physical characterization and oxidative stability of egg powder microencapsulated by spray drying were studied in this work. The wall material (gelatin, lactose, pullulan, and their mixtures) and liquid egg mixtures were prepared by homogenization at 22,000 rpm for 60 s. The spray drying was carried out at pilot-scale spray dryer (Niro Mobile Minor, Søborg, Denmark). The spray-dried egg powders were analyzed for moisture content, water activity, peroxide value, total cholesterol oxidation products (TCOPs), particle properties, and bulk properties. Using gelatin as wall material resulted in a significant increase in the moisture content and water activity of egg powder during storage and it improved flowability. Egg powders containing pullulan as wall material showed a fibrous structure and had the lowest bulk density. Adding lactose as wall material increased the oxidative stability, which was indicated with lowest peroxide value and TCOPs level of egg powder.  相似文献

This paper proposes a new method of merging parameterized fuzzy sets based on clustering in the parameters space, taking into account the degree of inclusion of each fuzzy set in the cluster prototypes. The merger method is applied to fuzzy rule base simplification by automatically replacing the fuzzy sets corresponding to a given cluster with that pertaining to cluster prototype. The feasibility and the performance of the proposed method are studied using an application in mobile robot navigation. The results indicate that the proposed merging and rule base simplification approach leads to good navigation performance in the application considered and to fuzzy models that are interpretable by experts. In this paper, we concentrate mainly on fuzzy systems with Gaussian membership functions, but the general approach can also be applied to other parameterized fuzzy sets.  相似文献
