The business model concept, although a relatively new topic for research, has garnered growing attention over the past decade. Whilst it has been robustly defined, the concept has so far attracted very little substantive research. In the context of the wide-spread digitization of businesses and society at large, the logic inherent in a business model has become critical for business success and, hence, a focus for academic inquiry. The business model concept is identified as the missing link between business strategy, processes, and Information Technology (IT). The authors argue that the BISE community offers distinct and unique competencies (e.g., translating business strategies into IT systems, managing business and IT processes, etc.) that can be harnessed for significant research contributions to this field. Within this research gap three distinct streams are delineated, namely, business models in IT industries, IT enabled or digital business models, and IT support for developing and managing business models. For these streams, the current state of the art, suggest critical research questions, and suitable research methodologies are outlined. 相似文献

The high intensity of free-electron X-ray light sources may enable structure determinations of viruses or even individual proteins without the encumbrance of first forming crystals. This note compares two schemes of non-crystalline diffraction data collection that have been proposed: serial single-shot data from individual particles, and averaged cross-correlation data from particle ensembles. The information content of these schemes is easily compared and we show that the single-shot approach, although experimentally more challenging, is always superior in this respect. In fact, for 3D structure determination a constraint counting argument shows that the cross-correlation scheme suffers from data deficiency. 相似文献

Barchan dunes emerge as a collective phenomena involving the generation of thousands of them in so called barchan dune fields.
By measuring the size and position of dunes in Moroccan barchan dune fields, we find that these dunes tend to distribute uniformly
in space and follow an unique size distribution function. We introduce an analytical mean-field approach to show that this
empirical size distribution emerges from the interplay of dune collisions and sand flux balance, the two simplest mechanisms
for size selection. The analytical model also predicts a scaling relation between the fundamental macroscopic properties characterizing
a dune field, namely the inter-dune spacing and the first and second moments of the dune size distribution. 相似文献

The finite-time transition between stationary setpoints of nonlinear SISO systems is considered as a scenario for the presentation of a new design approach for inversion-based feedforward control. Design techniques which are based on a stable system inversion result in input trajectories with pre- and/or post-actuation intervals. The presented approach treats the considered transition task as a two-point boundary value problem (BVP) and yields causal feedforward trajectories, which are constant outside the transition interval. The main idea of this approach is to provide free parameters in the desired output trajectory to solve the BVP of the internal dynamics. Thereby, a standard MATLAB function can be used for the numerical solution of the BVP. Feedforward control design techniques are illustrated by simulation results for a simple example. 相似文献

We evaluated the influence of fish oil (FO, rich in n-3 FA), soybean oil (SO, rich in n-6 FA) and hydrogenated vegetable fat (HVF, rich in trans FA) on the oxidative status and viability of skin cells of mice exposed to ultraviolet radiation (UVR). Mice were supplemented with FO, SO or HVF for three months and exposed to UVR (2.72 mJ/cm2) for 2 days. One day after the last UVR session, the FO group showed higher levels of n-3 fatty acids (FA), while the HVF showed higher incorporation of trans FA (TFA) in dorsal skin. UVR increased lipid peroxidation and protein carbonyl levels of the HVF and to a lesser extent of the control and SO groups. Although all irradiated groups showed increased skin thickness, this increase was slighter in FO mice. UVR exposure reduced skin cell viability of the control, SO and HVF groups, while FO prevented this. Catalase activity was reduced independently of the supplementation and SOD level was increased in C and FO groups after UVR exposure; FO prevented the UVR-induced increase in glutathione levels, which was observed in skin of the control, SO and HVF mice. Our results showed the beneficial effects of FO supplementation, as well as the harmful effects of trans FA, whose intensity can increase vulnerability to skin diseases. 相似文献

Whereas the contribution from renewable energies in the electrical power market is increasing rapidly, similar progress in the heat market is yet to be made. A prerequisite for progress is the development of innovative support instruments that transcend the usual support through public subsidies or tax reductions. We present an overview of the various classes of possible instruments. Some particularly interesting instruments will be selected and evaluated, comparing them qualitatively and quantitatively for the case of Germany. In this article, the internal dynamics of flat nonlinear SISO systems with respect to a real non-flat output is investigated in the coordinates of the flat output and its derivatives.
