Great progress has been made in the last 10 years in the understanding of the various types of viral hepatitis, and new viruses, concepts, therapies, preventive measures, and control strategies have been recognized. Even more agents, vaccines, and drugs will be discovered or developed in the future, and pediatricians increasingly will be expected to provide guidance to patients and to the community on the importance and use of these new tools.  相似文献

In the statistical learning framework, the use of appropriate kernels may be the key for substantial improvement in solving a given problem. In essence, a kernel is a similarity measure between input points satisfying some mathematical requirements and possibly capturing the domain knowledge. In this paper, we focus on kernels for images: we represent the image information content with binary strings and discuss various bitwise manipulations obtained using logical operators and convolution with nonbinary stencils. In the theoretical contribution of our work, we show that histogram intersection is a Mercer's kernel and we determine the modifications under which a similarity measure based on the notion of Hausdorff distance is also a Mercer's kernel. In both cases, we determine explicitly the mapping from input to feature space. The presented experimental results support the relevance of our analysis for developing effective trainable systems.  相似文献

It is shown that the motion field the 2-D vector field which is the perspective projection on the image plane of the 3-D velocity field of a moving scene, and the optical flow, defined as the estimate of the motion field which can be derived from the first-order variation of the image brightness pattern, are in general different, unless special conditions are satisfied. Therefore, dense optical flow is often ill-suited for computing structure from motion and for reconstructing the 3-D velocity field by algorithms which require a locally accurate estimate of the motion field. A different use of the optical flow is suggested. It is shown that the (smoothed) optical flow and the motion field can be interpreted as vector fields tangent to flows of planar dynamical systems. Stable qualitative properties of the motion field, which give useful informations about the 3-D velocity field and the 3-D structure of the scene, usually can be obtained from the optical flow. The idea is supported by results from the theory of structural stability of dynamical systems  相似文献

We report on the deposition of soft matter thin films by Matrix Assisted Pulsed Laser Evaporation (MAPLE). In particular, thin layers of biological material (Bovine Serum Albumin) and polymers (polyfluorene) for medical and optoelectronic applications, were realized by laser irradiating a frozen solution containing a low amount of material diluted in a laser absorbing volatile solvent. The depositions were carried out varying different parameters as solvent–solute concentration, solvent nature, laser fluencies, etc. The optical, morphological, structural and spectroscopical properties were detected by means of different analyses as FTIR, photoluminescence, AFM and SDS.  相似文献

In this paper we describe the one-pot fabrication of hydroxyapatite (HA)-heparin composites by electrodeposition onto Ti substrates and their characterisation in terms of structure, morphology, heparin content and bioactivity. HA coatings are well known and widely applied osteointegration enhancers, but post-implant healing rate in dental applications is still suboptimal: e.g. coagulation control plays a key role and the incorporation of an anticoagulant is considered a highly desirable option. In this study, we have developed an improved, simple and robust growth procedure for single-phase, pure HA-heparin films of thickness 1/3 μm. HA-heparin, forming nanowires, has the ideal morphology for bone mineralisation. Staining assays revealed homogeneous incorporation of sizable amounts of heparin in the composite films. The bioactivities of the HA and HA-heparin coatings on Ti were compared by HeLa cell proliferation/viability tests and found to be enhanced by the presence of the anticoagulant.  相似文献

In this paper we treat the static dictionary problem , very well known in computer science. It consists in storing a set S of m elements in the range [1 . . . n ] so that membership queries on S 's elements can be handled in O(1) time. It can be approached as a table compression problem in which a size n table has m ones and the other elements are zeros. We focus our attention on sparse case (m n ). We use a simple algorithm to solve the problem and make an average-case analysis of the total space required when the input derives from uniform probability distribution. We also find some conditions able to minimize storage requirements. We then propose and analyze a new algorithm able to reduce storage requirements drastically to O(m 4/3 ) . Trainable computer vision systems are receiving increased attention in different application domains for their versatility and flexibility. This paper describes a trainable system capable of determining fish weight from image measurements. A prototype of the proposed system has been experimentally installed as a component of an automatic fish grading device at a fish farm. The image measurements are taken from top and side views of live fish sliding through a transparent channel. After the training stage, in which a support vector machine learns the relation between fish weight and shape parameters from a small number of examples, the system is able to grade fish at the rate of three fish per second. The experimental results obtained thus far and reported in the paper indicate that the system is adequate for the required task.  相似文献
