This paper introduces a family of power converters for power recycling during the burn-in test of synchronized uninterruptible power supplies (UPSs) with sinusoidal output voltage. The use of the power recycler to replace the resistor load bank in the UPSs burn-in test causes great energy savings, and the optimized use of electrical energy contributes in reducing the final cost of the product. The main feature of the new circuits is their ability to draw from the UPS and to inject into the utility-grid currents with low total harmonic distortion (THD) and high power factor (PF). The new circuits operate at constant frequency and are regulated by conventional pulse width modulation (PWM) using dedicated PWM and PF controller integrated circuits developed for power supplies. Hot-carrier injection is known to produce interface states and oxide trapped charge, which, depending upon their spatial distribution, can strongly influence the local electric fields as well as the current flow. In this work, we analyze the hot carrier-induced degradation of gate overlapped lightly doped drain (GOLDD) polysilicon thin film transistors (TFTs) and a new model, which correlates the interface state generation with the hot carrier injection current, is proposed. The defect generation rate has been assumed to depend upon the product of hot electron and hole currents Jeh, and the resulting interface state distribution has been evaluated self-consistently with the current density and carrier concentration distributions. By successive iterations, a complete spatial and time evolution of the interface state distribution has been determined, and the electrical characteristics, calculated with these interface state distributions are in good agreement with the experimental data 相似文献

The efficiency of different surface pretreatments (four standard chemical etchings and four diamond powder abrasive procedures) on silicon nitride (Si3 N4 ) substrates for chemical vapor deposition (CVD) of diamond has been systematically investigated. Blank Si3 N4 samples were polished with colloidal silica (∼0.25 μm). Diamond nucleation and growth runs were conducted in a microwave plasma chemical vapor deposition apparatus for 10 min and 6 h, respectively. Superior results concerning nucleation density ( N d ∼ 1010 cm−2 after 10 min), film uniformity, and grain size (below 2 μm after 6 h) were obtained for the mechanically microflawed samples, revealing that chemical etchings (hot and cold strong acids, molten base or CF4 plasma) are not crucial for good CVD diamond quality on Si3 N4 . 相似文献

The multiple determination tasks of chemical properties are a classical problem in analytical chemistry. The major problem is concerned in to find the best subset of variables that better represents the compounds. These variables are obtained by a spectrophotometer device. This device measures hundreds of correlated variables related with physicocbemical properties and that can be used to estimate the component of interest. The problem is the selection of a subset of informative and uncorrelated variables that help the minimization of prediction error. Classical algorithms select a subset of variables for each compound considered. In this work we propose the use of the SPEA-II (strength Pareto evolutionary algorithm II). We would like to show that the variable selection algorithm can selected just one subset used for multiple determinations using multiple linear regressions. For the case study is used wheat data obtained by NIR (near-infrared spectroscopy) spectrometry where the objective is the determination of a variable subgroup with information about E protein content (%), test weight (Kg/HI), WKT (wheat kernel texture) (%) and farinograph water absorption (%). The results of traditional techniques of multivariate calibration as the SPA (successive projections algorithm), PLS (partial least square) and mono-objective genetic algorithm are presents for comparisons. For NIR spectral analysis of protein concentration on wheat, the number of variables selected from 775 spectral variables was reduced for just 10 in the SPEA-II algorithm. The prediction error decreased from 0.2 in the classical methods to 0.09 in proposed approach, a reduction of 37%. The model using variables selected by SPEA-II had better prediction performance than classical algorithms and full-spectrum partial least-squares. 相似文献

Open-channel blockers of the nicotinic acetylcholine receptor (nAcChR) are widely thought to act sterically by entering and "plugging" the open channel of the nAcChR. However, quinacrine, a fluorescent open-channel blocker, has been recently shown to bind to the nAcChR at a site near the lipid bilayer while the receptor is in a closed, desensitized state, suggesting that at least one open-channel blocker might act allosterically outside the channel [Valenzuela et al. (1992) J. Biol. Chem. 267, 8238]. To determine whether or not quinacrine also binds near the lipid bilayer when the receptor is in an open state, a short-range lipophilic quencher (5-doxylstearate, 5-SA) was used to assess the proximity of the nAcChR-bound quinacrine to the lipid bilayer while the receptor was transiently open by an agonist. Initial experiments using a stopped-flow instrument established the conditions required to monitor a portion of the changes in quinacrine fluorescence associated with its binding to the receptor in the open state. 5-SA (80 microM) reduced the amplitude of the rapid agonist-induced change in quinacrine emission to 44% +/- 12% of the control value, indicating that the quinacrine was binding to a site proximal to the membrane-partitioned 5-SA. Control experiments established that 5-SA had no effect on the ability of the receptor to undergo agonist-induced conformational changes, suggesting that little, if any, 5-SA distributed into the channel lumen and perturbed the functional activity of the receptor. Together, the results indicate that quinacrine binds to a site on the open receptor that is in contact with the lipid bilayer and not in the channel lumen. 相似文献

Based on the assumption of a working memory processor devoted to human movement, cognitive load theory is used to explore some conditions under which animated instructions are hypothesised to be more effective for learning than equivalent static graphics. Using paper-folding tasks dealing with human movement, results from three experiments confirmed our hypothesis, indicating a superiority of animation over static graphics. These results are discussed in terms of a working memory processor that may be facilitated by our mirror-neuron system and may explain why animated instructional animations are superior to static graphics for cognitively based tasks that involve human movement. 相似文献

In the last few decades the continuous monitoring of complex dynamic systems has become an increasingly important issue across diverse engineering areas. This paper presents a pattern recognition based system that uses visual-based efficient invariants features for continuous monitoring of induction motors. The procedures presented here are based on the image identification of the 3-D current state space patterns that allow the identification of distinct fault types and, furthermore, their corresponding severity. This automatic fault detection system deals with time-variant electric currents and is based on the identification of three-phase stator currents specified patterns.
