We developed a method for determination of motor conduction along the mandibular and sensory conduction along the lingual and inferior alveolar nerves in 10 controls and 6 patients with lingual neuropathy following lower wisdom tooth extraction. Patients with lingual neuropathy had reduced/absent or delayed compound sensory action potentials and normal conduction along the fibers of the inferior alveolar nerve and mandibular nerve. The method provides a useful electrophysiological means of evaluating lingual nerve lesions. 相似文献

1,12-bis(1,2,4-triazolyl)dodecane (dTC12) is an excellent corrosion inhibitor for carbon steel in deaerated 1 M HCl solution. In this work electrochemical and analytical techniques were used to study the inhibition of corrosion on carbon steel in acidic medium. The carbon steel corrosion inhibition of dTC12 was attributed to the synergistic effect between chloride anion and quaternary ammonium ion. The protective efficiency of the film was higher than 90%, indicating that corrosion of carbon steel in 1 M HCl is reduced by dTC12.The effect of dissolved oxygen on the inhibition efficiency was also investigated. The results show that the inhibition efficiency increases in early stage and decreases for a long immersion time. 相似文献

This paper deals with state estimation problem for uncertain continuous‐time systems. A numerical treatment is proposed for designing interval observers that ensures guaranteed upper and lower bounds on the estimated states. In order to take into account possible perturbations on the system and its outputs, a new type of interval observers is introduced. Such interval observers consist of two coupled general Luenberger‐type observers that involve dilatation functions. In addition, we provide an optimality criterion in order to find optimal interval observers that lead to tight interval error estimation. There is a great need for a low cost and low power consumption portable spirometer for the home care of respiratory diseases. A mobile monitoring system utilizing Bluetooth and mobile messaging services (SMS) with low-cost hardware equipment is proposed. A proof of concept prototype has been developed and implemented to enable transmission of a flow or volume of gas during inspiratory and expiratory process signal of a patient, which can be expanded to include other vital signs. Communication between a mobile smart-phone and the spirometer is implemented using the popular personal area network standard specification Bluetooth. We used SMS for transmission, the mobile phone plots the received signal and displays the flow measurement application software running on the client mobile phone itself, where the plot can be captured and saved as an image before transmission. The acquired signal is transmitted via the Bluetooth to the processing and diagnostic unit with wireless protocol between sensors and the electronics board. The flow measurement is done with a silicon hot wire anemometer manufactured with MEMS technology. The design, manufacturing, calibration, and basic characterization of MEMS hot-wire anemometer and digital spiromerter is presented. 相似文献

The novelty of this paper is the use of an efficient beam theory for bending, free vibration and buckling analysis of functionally graded material (FGM) beams on two-parameter elastic foundation. The present theory accounts for both shear deformation and thickness stretching effects by a parabolic variation of all displacements across the thickness, and satisfies the stress-free boundary conditions on the upper and lower surfaces of the beam without requiring any shear correction factor. Due to porosities, possibly occurring inside FGMs during fabrication, it is therefore necessary to consider the vibration, bending and buckling behaviors of beams having porosities in this work. The equation of motion for FGM beams is obtained through Hamilton’s principle. The closed form solutions are obtained by using Navier technique, and then fundamental frequencies are found by solving the results of eigenvalue problems. The validity of the present theory is investigated by comparing some of the present in literature. It can be concluded that the proposed theory is accurate and simple in solving the bending, free vibration and buckling behaviors of FGM sandwich beams. 相似文献

In this paper we propose an automatic methodology to verify the soundness of model checking reduction techniques. The idea is to use the consistency of the specifications to verify if the reduced model is faithful to the original one. The user provides the reduction technique, the specification and the system under verification. Then, using Higher Order Logic he verifies automatically if the reduction technique is soundly applied. The method is completely defined in an MDG–HOL special integration platform that combines an automatic high level model checking tool Multiway Decision Graphs (MDGs) within the HOL theorem prover. We provide two case studies, the first one is the reduction using SAT–MDG of an Island Tunnel Controller and the second one is the MDG–HOL assume-guarantee reduction of the Look-Aside Interface. The obtained results of our approach offer a considerable gain in terms of the correctness of heuristics and reduction techniques as applied to commercial model checking, however a small penalty is paid in terms of CPU time and memory usage. 相似文献

Mass transfer within the T-shaped and cross-shaped micromixers has been studied using CFD and confocal laser scanning microscopy methods. The concentration profiles, based on flow regimes, were used to compare the T- and cross-geometries. The cross-shaped micromixer tends to intensify the mixing and this is occurring for lower flow rates in comparison to the T shape. The improvement made by the cross geometry is attributed to the stronger vortex stretching and high shear rate, which reduces the liquid transfer length. The presence of a single outlet in the T-shaped micromixer induces a smaller degree of freedom for the fluid. A higher pressure drop is calculated in T-shaped micromixer than in cross-shaped micromixer. 相似文献

This paper proposes an integrated approach to identify, evaluate and improve the potential failures in a service setting. This integrated approach combines Fuzzy cost‐based service‐specific FMEA (FCS‐FMEA), Grey Relational Analysis (GRA) and profitability theory for better prioritization of the service failures by considering cost as an important issue and using the profitability theory in a way that the corrective actions costs are taken into account. Considering profitability with FCS‐FMEA and GRA reduces the losses caused by failure occurrence. Besides, a maximization linear mathematical problem is used to select the best mix of failures to be repaired. We apply our approach to an academic example concerning the potential failures diagnosis of the Internal Medicine service of a hospital located in Seoul, Korea. We applied our approach and solved the associated maximization problem by a commercial solver, producing an optimal solution which indicates the most convenient mix of failures to be repaired by considering available budget. Whole-genome sequencing (WGS) data present a readily available resource for mitochondrial genome (mitogenome) haplotypes that can be utilized for genetics research including population studies. However, the reconstruction of the mitogenome is complicated by nuclear mitochondrial DNA (mtDNA) segments (NUMTs) that co-align with the mtDNA sequences and mimic authentic heteroplasmy. Two minimum variant detection thresholds, 5% and 10%, were assessed for the ability to produce authentic mitogenome haplotypes from a previously generated WGS dataset. Variants associated with NUMTs were detected in the mtDNA alignments for 91 of 917 (~8%) Swedish samples when the 5% frequency threshold was applied. The 413 observed NUMT variants were predominantly detected in two regions (nps 12,612–13,105 and 16,390–16,527), which were consistent with previously documented NUMTs. The number of NUMT variants was reduced by ~97% (400) using a 10% frequency threshold. Furthermore, the 5% frequency data were inconsistent with a platinum-quality mitogenome dataset with respect to observed heteroplasmy. These analyses illustrate that a 10% variant detection threshold may be necessary to ensure the generation of reliable mitogenome haplotypes from WGS data resources. 相似文献
