The stability of seven reactive (one difluoromonochloropyrimidinyl and six monochlorotriazinyl) dyes on cellulose immersed in sodium peroxoborate (PB) solution (UK–TO solution) containing tetraacetylethylenediamine (TAED) was examined using cellulosic films at 60 °C. The extent of dye loss that occurred from the dyed cellulosic films which were immersed in the UK–TO solution without detergent correlated closely to the ratings obtained using the BS 1006 UK–TO wash test. The dye loss that occurred from the dyed cellophane films was attributed to three contributions, namely, alkaline hydrolysis of dye–fibre bonds, oxidative fading of the dye chromophore by peroxides and cellulose degradation accelerated by PB and TAED. The alkaline hydrolysis of the dye–fibre bond and the extent of cellulose degradation in the UK–TO solution were the main contributions to the dye loss; dye oxidation was a minor factor in the dye loss mechanism. The physical bonding of the dye molecules reinforced the covalent dye–fibre bond stability towards the UK–TO solution.  相似文献

Interfacial area concentration is one of the most important parameters in two-phase flow. It is related to mass, momentum and energy transfer at the interface. In bubbly flow, it has close relation to bubble diameter. Interfacial area concentration was measured with particular attention to bubble diameter at inlet. The relationship between bubble diameter and interfacial area was theoretically considered. The possibilities of measurement methods of interfacial area concentration with multiprobes were discussed and a preliminary experiment for one of these methods was carried out.  相似文献

Hydrodechlorination of chlorobenzenes on platinum (Pt)-supported γ-alumina and alumina Lewis superacid (AmLSA) catalysts was carried out at room temperature and ambient pressure using a fixed bed flow reactor and a semi-batch reactor. Both the catalysts indicated good activity for the hydrodechlorination, but the former was superior to the latter. The hydrodechlorinations of reactants C6H6−xClx (x=1, 2, 3) proceeded step-wisely to benzene and then cyclohexane via C6H6−yCly (y=x−1). The reactions seem to be promoted by the contribution of spillover hydrogen formed on the Pt-supported catalysts. The catalysts deactivated with reaction time and the amount of chlorine that accumulated on the Pt-supported γ-alumina catalyst in the hydrodechlorination of 1,4-dichlorobenzene for 3 h was near to that estimated from the converted reactant molecules. When the deactivated catalysts were treated in a stream of hydrogen above 503 K, the original activity was completely restored, but the deactivation phenomenon with reaction time was observed again.  相似文献

Interfacial area concentration measurement is quite important in gas-liquid two-phase flow. To determine the accuracy of measurement of the interfacial area using electrical resistivity probes, numerical simulations of a passing bubble through sensors are carried out. The two-sensors method, the four-sensors method and the correlative method are tested and the effects of sensor spacing, bubble diameter and hitting angle of the bubbles on the accuracy of each measurement method are investigated. The results indicated that the two-sensors method is insensitive to the ratio between sensor spacing and bubble diameter, and hitting angle. It overestimates the interfacial area for small hitting angles while it gives a reasonable accuracy for smaller bubbles and large hitting angles. The four-sensors method gives accurate interfacial area measurements particularly for the larger bubble diameters and smaller hitting angles, while for smaller bubbles and larger hitting angles, the escape probability of bubbles through the sensors becomes large and the accuracy becomes worse. The correlative method gives an overall accuracy for interfacial area measurement. Particularly, it gives accurate measurements for larger bubbles and larger hitting angles while for smaller hitting angles, the spatial dependence of the correlation functions affects the accuracy.  相似文献

The magnetohydrodynamic (MHD) effect on the flow structures and heat transfer characteristics was studied numerically for a liquid metal-gas annular flow under a transverse magnetic field. The side layers, in which the velocity was increased, appeared near the eastern and western sidewalls in an annular MHD flow as in a single-phase liquid metal MHD flow. Temperature distribution in the liquid film, and the Nusselt number distribution in the angular direction were influenced by the flow structures with the side layers. Consequently heat transfer rate was higher at the eastern/western sidewalls than that at the southern/northern walls. The pressure drop in the MHD annular flow is of the same order of magnitude as in the single-phase MHD pipe flow under similar liquid metal flow condition.  相似文献

This paper presents the experimental data of natural convection heat transfer from a horizontal cylindrical heater immersed in mercury pool under the two applied magnetic fields of which directions are perpendicular and parallel to the direction of gravity, respectively. The presence of both magnetic fields causes increase in heater surface temperature and liquid temperature surrounding the heater and also increase in thermal boundary layer thickness, at the fixed surface heat flux. From these results, it is expected that the magnetic field affects the inception of boiling. Variation of local heat-transfer coefficient along the periphery of the heater is also discussed.  相似文献

To maintain a stable thermophilic (55 degrees C) anaerobic digestion treating toilet paper-containing garbage, it is necessary to operate the digester at long hydraulic retention time (HRT) and low organic loading rate (OLR). Critical conditions of the digestion were investigated by operating the digester at HRT 23 days and OLR 3.4 gCOD(Cr)/L/d (R1) or HRT 14 days and OLR 5.6 gCOD/Cr)/L/d (R2) separately. Characteristics of methanogenesis of the two digesters were examined by measuring gas generation volume and volatile fatty acids (VFA) concentration, and the populations of four anaerobic acidogens and three methanogens were analyzed using quantitative PCR method. In digester R1, methanogenic activity was unstable but it could be recovered by stopping feeding as though VFA accumulation occurred. The population of acidogens and two methanogens were maintained at 10(11) - 10(13) copies/L, however, the population of Methanoculleus could not be recovered after methanogenesis recovering. In digester R2, the period of methanogenesis was significantly shorter than that in digester R1. Both the acidogens and the methanogens could not be maintained at a stable concentration. It is suggested that the critical HRT to sustain the population of acidogens in this process should be longer than 14 days and for all kinds of methanogens, HRT should be longer than 23 days.  相似文献

Experimental and numerical analyses were carried out on vertically upward air-water bubbly two-phase flow behavior in both horizontal and inclined rod bundles with either in-line or staggered array. The inclination angle of the rod bundle varied from 0 to 60° with respect to the horizontal. The measured phase distributions indicated non-uniform characteristics, particularly in the direction of the rod axis when the rods were inclined. The mechanisms for this non-uniform phase distribution is supposed to be due to: (1) Bubble segregation phenomenon which depends on the bubble size and shape; (2) bubble entrainment by the large scale secondary flow induced by the pressure gradient in the horizontal direction which crosses the rod bundle; (3) effects of bubble entrapment by vortices generated in the wake behind the rods which travel upward along the rod axis; and (4) effect of bubble entrainment by local flows sliding up along the front surface of the rods. The liquid velocity and turbulence distributions were also measured and discussed. In these speculations, the mechanisms for bubble bouncing at the curved rod surface and turbulence production induced by a bubble were discussed, based on visual observations. Finally, the bubble behaviors in vertically upward bubbly two-phase flow across horizontal rod bundle were analyzed based on a particle tracking method (one-way coupling). The predicted bubble trajectories clearly indicated the bubble entrapment by vortices in the wake region.  相似文献

Turbulence is one of the most important phenomena in analyzing thermohydrodynamic characteristics of gas-liquid two-phase flow. For the purpose of accurate prediction of the turbulence phenomena, a basic conservation equation of Reynolds stress was derived based on the local instant formulation of mass and momentum conservations of two-phase flow. In this equation, interfacial transfer terms of turbulence appear as source terms. Detailed considerations on these transport terms were carried out. It was shown that they consist of a viscous damping term due to small scale interfacial structures, a drag induced turbulence generation term due to large scale interfacial structures and a term representing the exchange between surface energy and turbulence. Based on the mechanistic modeling and turbulence modulations, carried out were physical interpretations of interfacial area concentrations of small and large scale interfacial structures, a viscous damping term due to small scale interface and turbulence generation term due to large scale interface.  相似文献
