Surface activity and micelle formation of alkylguanidinium chlorides containing 10, 12, 14 and 16 carbon atoms in the hydrophobic tail were studied by combining conductivity and surface tension measurements with isothermal titration calorimetry. The purity of the resulting surfactants, their temperatures of Cr→LC and LC→I transitions, as well as their propensity of forming birefringent phases, were assessed based on the results of 1H and 13C NMR, differential scanning calorimetry (DSC), and polarizing microscopy studies. Whenever possible, the resulting values of Krafft temperature (TK), critical micelle concentration (CMC), minimum surface tension above the CMC, chloride counter-ion binding to the micelle, and the standard enthalpy of micelle formation per mole of surfactant (ΔmicH°) were compared to those characterizing alkyltrimethylammonium chlorides or bromides with the same tail lengths. The value of TK ranged between 292 and 314 K and increased strongly with the increase in the chain length of the hydrophobic tail. Micellization was described as both entropy and enthalpy-driven. Based on the direct calorimetry measurements, the general trends in the CMC with the temperature, hydrophobic tail length, and NaCl addition were found to be similar to those of other types of cationic surfactants. The particularly exothermic character of micellization was ascribed to the hydrogen-binding capacity of the guanidinium head-group. 相似文献

The dynamic mechanical behaviour of random copolymers of LC monomer-1-(hexyloxycarbonyl)ethyl 4-[4-(methacryloyloxy)benzoyloxy]benzoate
(HB) and octyl methacrylate (OMA) was studied in the main transition and flow regions. Even though the aliphatic end groups
of the side chain of HB and OMA are roughly the same, the T
g temperature of poly(HB) is ∼ 80 K higher than that of poly(OMA); this fact is due to the presence of the stiff phenyl benzoate
mesogenic group in the side chain of HB. With increasing content of OMA in the copolymer the superimposed curves of the storage
G′
p and loss G′′
p moduli at a constant temperature shift towards shorter frequencies. It has been shown that this shift is mainly due to an
increase of the free volume in the copolymers with increasing content of OMA. While HB monomer shows liquid crystalline (LC)
properties, its polymer (poly(HB)) and random copolymers with OMA show only isotropic thermal behaviour because no flexible
spacer is present in the side chain of HB which would decouple the main chain and mesogenic group motions. This means that
neither the homopolymer of HB, nor its copolymers with a flexible comonomer retain the LC properties of the starting LC monomer,
HB.

Summary
In this work, the porous media flow of solutions of mixtures of Poly(ethylene oxide), PEO, and Sodium Dodecyl Sulfate, SDS,
was studied. Aqueous solutions of PEO exhibited the well known critical extension thickening effect when flowing through disordered
packings of glass spheres. Upon addition of SDS to a solution of fixed PEO concentration, the extension thickening of the
mixture exhibits a maximum as a function of SDS concentration that mimics the shear viscosity behavior of the polymer-surfactant
mixture. However, when NaCl is added to the mixture, higher extension thickening effects at relatively low SDS concentrations
were detected, in spite of the fact that the shear viscosity of the mixtures was about the same as that of equivalent PEO/SDS
solutions in deionized water. The results were rationalized in terms of how the formation of SDS micellar aggregates along
the PEO chain can alter the ability of the polymer to form transient entanglement networks, which is the cause of the extension
thickening behavior.

In this paper, minimum mean square error-support vector regression (MMSE-SVR) is proposed, which is shown to be adequate for the estimation of the long term evolution (LTE) uplink channel with nonlinear features. MMSE-SVR was applied to estimate real channel environments such as the vehicular A channels defined by the International Telecommunication Union (ITU). The simulation results show that the proposed method has a better performance than the least squares support vector machine (LS-SVM) and the standard MMSE with linear and spline interpolation. 相似文献

This paper focusses on generation of solar irradiation map under clear sky conditions using r.sun model. Direct Irradiation, diffuse irradiation and global irradiation maps are plotted using programme which was developed in C language. This programme calculates different components of solar irradiation using clear sky model (r.sun). Further Surfer software was used to plot different irradiation maps. All three values (Direct Irradiation, Global Irradiation and Diffuse Irradiation) were compared by IMD values for performing statistical analysis i.e. Mean Bias Error (MBE), Root Mean Square Error (RMSE) and standard deviation. MBE was found within ±10%, RMSE lies within <20% and standard deviation was found to have very low value which indicated good fitting between model results and calculated values.
