The effect of spin splitting caused by structural asymmetry (Rashba’s contribution) and bulk asymmetry (Dresselhaus’s contribution) on the magnetoconductance of two-dimensional structures with high mobility of charge carriers is studied. The theory of weak localization with regard to both of the contributions is developed. The theory is valid in the entire region of classically low magnetic fields for arbitrary relations between the frequencies of spin precession and elastic collisions. The suppression of the correction for antilocalization is demonstrated in the case of equal contributions of structural anisotropy and bulk anisotropy to the spin splitting. The effect of the contribution, cubic in the wave vector, to the spin splitting on the quantum magnetoresistance is studied.  相似文献

A ketocyanine ligand containing two N-aza-15-crown-5 residues has been synthesized and covalently anchored to a silica substrate through an azomethine link. The ligand formation and molecular structure have been determined by combining spectral data and molecular simulations. Preferential adsorption of rare-earth metals from aqueous solutions to the modified surface has been noticed. In the case of lanthanum, the adsorption is accompanied by significant fluorescence enhancement, which allows this system to be used as a sensor for La3+ ion.  相似文献

Recently, Brooklyn has seen an explosion of drag culture, with dozens of performers taking the stage in any given week. Social media plays a vital role for members of this community, simultaneously allowing self‐promotion and community solidarity. Drawing on focus group interviews, we analyze the communication practices of Brooklyn's drag performers, examining both the advantages and drawbacks of social media platforms. Using conceptual frameworks of faceted identity and relational labor, our discussion focuses on affordances and constraints of multifaceted identity in online contexts and theories of seamful design. We contend that by analyzing online communication practices of drag performers, it becomes possible to identify gaps between embedded ideologies of mainstream social media technologies and the localized values of outsider communities.  相似文献

We describe the design, construction, and performance of three generations of superconducting Ioffe magnetic traps. The first two are low current traps, built from four racetrack shaped quadrupole coils and two solenoid assemblies. Coils are wet wound with multifilament NbTi superconducting wires embedded in epoxy matrices. The magnet bore diameters are 51 and 105 mm with identical trap depths of 1.0 T at their operating currents and at 4.2 K. A third trap uses a high current accelerator-type quadrupole magnet and two low current solenoids. This trap has a bore diameter of 140 mm and tested trap depth of 2.8 T. Both low current traps show signs of excessive training. The high current hybrid trap, on the other hand, exhibits good training behavior and is amenable to quench protection.  相似文献

In this paper, a new solution method for the modified eigenvalue problem with specific application to structural dynamic reanalysis is presented. The method, which is based on the block Lanczos algorithm, is developed for multiple low rank modifications to a system and calculates a few selected eigenpairs. Electron–phonon interactions play an essential role in charge transport and transfer processes in semiconductors. For most structures, tailoring electron–phonon interactions for specific functionality remains elusive. Here, it is shown that, in hybrid perovskites, coherent phonon modes can be used to manipulate charge transfer. In the 2D double perovskite, (AE2T)2AgBiI8 (AE2T: 5,5“-diylbis(amino-ethyl)-(2,2”-(2)thiophene)), the valence band maximum derived from the [Ag0.5Bi0.5I4]2– framework lies in close proximity to the AE2T-derived HOMO level, thereby forming a type-II heterostructure. During transient absorption spectroscopy, pulsed excitation creates sustained coherent phonon modes, which periodically modulate the associated electronic levels. Thus, the energy offset at the organic–inorganic interface also oscillates periodically, providing a unique opportunity for modulation of interfacial charge transfer. Density-functional theory corroborates the mechanism and identifies specific phonon modes as likely drivers of the coherent charge transfer. These observations are a striking example of how electron–phonon interactions can be used to manipulate fundamentally important charge and energy transfer processes in hybrid perovskites.  相似文献

OBJECTIVE: To determine whose naive judgments of consumer product usability are more accurate--those of younger or older adults. Accuracy is here defined as judgments compatible with results from performance-based usability tests. BACKGROUND: Older adults may be better able to predict usability problems than younger adults, making them particularly good participants in studies contributing to the user-centered design of products. This advantage, if present, may stem from older adults' motivation for more usable products or from their experience adapting their own environments to meet their changing physical, cognitive, and sensory needs. METHOD: Sixty older participants (ages 65-75 years) and 60 younger ones (ages 18-22 years) evaluated illustrations of consumer products on specific criteria (e.g., readability, learnability, or error rates). They either rated a single design for each product or ranked six alternative designs. They also explained their choices, indicated which features were most critical for usability, and selected usability-enhancing modifications. RESULTS: Although there was no reliable age difference in the amount of usability information provided in the open-ended explanations, older adults were more accurate at ranking alternative designs, selecting the most usability-critical features, and selecting usability-enhancing modifications (all ps < .05). CONCLUSION: The usability judgments of older adults are more accurate than those of younger adults when these judgments are solicited in a fixed-alternative, but not open-ended, format. APPLICATION: Because older adults are more discerning about potential product usability problems, they may be particularly valuable as research participants in early-stage design research (prior to the availability of working prototypes).  相似文献

The article deals with the problem of predicting the long-term strength of materials under steady-state static loading. It provides a brief characteristic of the main approaches used in the solution of this class of problems. On the example of metallic materials it analyzes the applicability of the Hencky-Hoff concept based on unbounded viscous flow of materials. The article also deals with modifications of the model taking into account initial elastic strain and nonsteady creep strain, limitations by strain and stresses. It is shown that Hoff's model can be used for predicting the long-term strength of highly ductile (u20%) materials and for calculating the time to failure of structural elements.Translated from Problemy Prochnosti, No. 2, pp. 26–34, February, 1993.  相似文献
