The magnetic resonance examination was performed in 38 patients with severe cerebral palsy (CP; 15 males and 23 females) who had both motor delay (unable to move anywhere) and mental retardation (I. Q or D. Q below 30). Neuroimaging findings were compared with the CP type, etiology, and grade of understanding of language. Cranial magnetic resonance imagings (MRI) in CP were divided into five types. Type 1 : nine predominantly showed cyst-liked ventricles and periventricular hyperintensity on T2-weighted imaging (PVH) and only scarred basal ganglia and thalamus were visible. All suffered from neonatal asphyxia and the clinical type was rigospastic tetraplegia (RST). Type 2: eleven predominantly showed PVH and hyperintensity on T2-weighted (HT2) in basal ganglia and thalamus. All suffered from neonatal asphyxia and the clinical type was RST or rigospastic diplegia. Type 3: five showed PVH and three had cortical atrophy. All suffered from neonatal asphyxia and the clinical type was spastic diplegia. Type 4: four predominantly showed HT 2 in putamen and thalamus. Three had cortical atrophy. All suffered from neonatal asphyxia. The clinical type was athetotic CP (ATH). Type 5: nine predominantly showed HT 2 in globus pallidus. Four had cortical atrophy and two had hippocampal atrophy. All suffered from neonatal jaundice and the clinical type was ATH. All patients who suffered from neonatal asphyxia and spastic CP had MRI in PVH. All patients who suffered from neonatal asphyxia and ATH showed HT 2 in putamen and thalamus. Almost patients who suffered neonatal jaundice and ATH showed HT 2 in globus pallidus. With athetotic CP, cases with atrophy of the cerebral cortex or/and hippocampus were lower grade of understanding of language than no atrophy of both. The result of studies of MRI are in agreement with neuropathological findings.  相似文献

This paper describes a numerical method for analyzing turbulent liquid metal magnetohydrodynamic flow in a rectangular duct under a transverse magnetic field. The main features of the proposed method are as follows: (1) a new iterative solution procedure is implemented to satisfy the conservation law for the electric current density; (2) Buleev's turbulence model is employed to calculate the turbulent intensities and shear stresses. The iterative solution procedure is tested and its ability is illustrated through solution of an example problem that corresponds to Hartmann's theoretical work. In order to verify the applicability of the turbulence model, the present method is applied to an analysis of Reed and Lykoudis's experimental data. The obtained numerical results agree well with the experimental data except for some slight differences.  相似文献

The adaptive cross‐approximation (ACA) technique is applied to accelerating an inverse‐problem solver that estimates charge distribution on a dielectric spacer. The ACA generates an approximated system‐matrix that enables us to carry out high‐speed inverse calculation. We designed an approximation procedure based on ACA with some additional concepts, that is, (a) partitioning of matrix based on algebraic information, (b) approximation quality control based on matrix norms, and so on. The tested solver (LSQR for regularized least squares) with ACA demonstrates about 10 times faster performance than that without ACA. © 2007 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Japan Atomic Energy Agency has been developing a gas turbine high temperature reactor (GTHTR300) with electric power of approximately 300 MW. One of the unique safety design concepts of this system is that events with frequency of occurrence of higher than 10−8/reactor-year are evaluated as design basis events in order to show that the frequency of large amount of FP release is less than 10−8/reactor-year. According to this concept, a depressurization accident by a large break of helium piping is postulated as a design basis event. This accident is one of the most serious accidents in the high-temperature gas-cooled reactors from the viewpoint of loss of coolability. The safety evaluation on the accident was conducted based on the actual design of the system. The short-term and long-term behaviors of fuel temperature after occurrence of the accident, internal pressure of the reactor building, oxidation behavior of fuels and graphite structures were evaluated and exposure dose of general public was also estimated using the results of evaluation of fuel temperature and fuel failure by oxidation. All of the evaluation results meet the safety criteria and feasibility of the GTHTR300 was shown by this study.  相似文献

Although brushless resolvers have been used widely as angular position transducers, they are expensive due to their intricate construction, involving a rotary transformer to supply the exciting coils wound on the rotor poles with the current. It is shown theoretically in this paper that the resolver without rotary transformer or brushes can be realized by simple construction, which consists of the stator core with both 4-poles exciting windings and 2-poles output ones and the rotor core carrying no windings. In this resolver the rotor core has minimum gap at one side and a maximum gap at another side of the diameter. It is characterized by an outer surface form that makes the fluctuation part of gap permeance very in proportion to cos θ, where θ represents the angular position of a point in the air gap with respect to the origin on the rotor, the point of minimum air gap. The method determining the rotor form to embody the aforementioned gap permeance variation is also shown. It has been confirmed not only by simulation but also experiment that the 2-phase output voltages of a model designed based on the theory have sinusoidal waveforms with very small harmonic contents. Moreover, the rotor position detected by processing the output voltages through the conventional resolver/digital converter was within acceptable engineering accuracy.  相似文献

A novel current source inverter system interconnected to the single‐phase grid is proposed. It has the same construction as the conventional three‐phase current source inverter that is interconnected to the single‐phase three‐wire distribution system. Though the proposed circuit has no output transformer, it can be equivalently performed as the single‐phase double cascade inverter by diverting the pole transformer in the utility system. By controlling the appropriate scheme, the output currents can be obtained as the five‐level waveforms and their distortions can be decreased sufficiently. It is applied to the interactive electric energy storage system with batteries and the basic discharging characteristics are discussed experimentally. © 2004 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. The hypocotyl of Arabidopsis is well suited for the analysis of cell elongation because it elongates without cell division. We have isolated a new class of recessive mutants, petit1 (pet1), which are defective in aspects of hypocotyl elongation. The short-hypocotyl phenotype of pet1 is caused by shortened cells. The cells of the elongation zone of the hypocotyl are often deformed. pet1 also shows defects in elongation of the roots, flower stalk, leaves, petals, pedicels, and siliques, and these defects cannot be repaired by the application of auxin, gibberellin, brassinolide, or an inhibitor of ethylene biosynthesis. The short-hypocotyl phenotype of pet1 is pronounced only in growth medium supplemented with sucrose, which has promotive effects on hypocotyl elongation. In pet1 this effect is much reduced, causing the sucrose-dependent short-hypocotyl phenotype of pet1. pet1 accumulates more soluble sugars than the wild type and also shows more intensive iodo-starch staining in the cotyledon and hypocotyl. These results indicate that PETIT1 is involved in a sugar-dependent elongation process that may include correct assembly of expanding cell wall architecture.  相似文献
