This article analyzes the transmission line characteristics of plasmonic hybrid metal insulator metal (HMIM) waveguide, circular ring resonator (CRR) based dual-band band-pass filters with two transmission poles in both pass-bands in the optical regime using coupled line feed. The transmission line characteristics of an HMIM waveguide, such as characteristic impedance (ZPV), effective refractive index (neff) and propagation length (Lspp), have been obtained by using full wave simulation. Using basic HMIM slot waveguide, a CRR with periodic loading of double- and triple-ring CRR is numerically analyzed. Two input ports have been used for excitation, which are located at the separation of 180° positions along the CRR, and are coupled with the ring by parallel coupled lines, producing the dual pass-bands with the synchronous excitation of two transmission poles. The proposed double-ring dual-band band-pass filter (DR-DB-BPF) offers 35 dB extinction ratio (ER), 299.69 nm free spectral range (FSR) and narrow band full width half maximum (FWHM) of 78.057—112.43 nm. The triple-ring DB-BPF (TR-DB-BPF) has 22.5 dB ER, FSR of 292.18 nm and FWHM of 42.751—59.58 nm. The proposed filters are very useful in the development of dual-band filters for electronic photonic integrated circuits (EPICs), as the optical signals are filtered at two wavelengths simultaneously.  相似文献

KERNEL – A novel parameter-free surrogate building algorithm using Adaptive Neuro Fuzzy Inference System (ANFIS) is presented to provide an intelligent and robust technology to optimally estimate the configuration of ANFIS along with Sobol-based fast sample size determination (SSD) methodology. The proposed algorithm is capable of fine-tuning the existing knowledge base about the physics of the process in terms of human experience. It also enables knowledge discovery through a multi-objective optimization problem (MOOP) solved by non-dominated sorting genetic algorithm, NSGA-II, thus presenting machine-invented physics of the process. Experimentally validated polymerization reaction network model is considered and ANFIS surrogates are built using KERNEL. Surrogate-based optimization was found to be nine times faster than conventional optimization using the time expensive model, thus enabling its online implementation. Comparison of ANFIS with Kriging is also included.  相似文献

ABSTRACT: The antioxidant, antifungal, and antibacterial potentials of essential oil and acetone extract of Anethum graveolens L. were investigated in the present study. The extract has shown excellent activity for the inhibition of primary and secondary oxidation products for rapeseed oil in comparision with butylated hydroxyanisole (BHA) and butylated hydroxytoluene (BHT), which were evaluated using peroxide, thiobarbituric acid, p‐anisidine, and carbonyl values. The activity of extract was further confirmed using other antioxidant properties such as ferric thiocyanate method inlinoleic acid system, which reducing power and scavenging effect (%) on 1,1‐diphenyl‐2‐picrylhydrazyl (DPPH) radical. Using inverted Petri plate method, the volatile oil completely inhibited the growth of Fusarium graminearum at 6 μL dose. Moreover, using poison food technique, the essential oil was found to be highly effective for controlling the growth of Penicillium citrinum and Aspergillus niger. In antibacterial investigations, using agar well diffusion method, the extract has shown better activity for Staphylococcus aureus and Bacillus cereus in comparison with commercial bactericide. However, essential oil has shown better activity for Pseudomonas aeruginosa. Gas chromatographic‐mass spectroscopy studies on essential oil resulted in the identification of 35 components, which account for the 98.9% of the total amount. The major component was carvone (55.2%) followed bylimonene (16.6%), dillapiole (14.4%), andlinalool (3.7%). The analysis of acetone extract showed the presence of 25 components, which account for 94.5% of the total amount. The major components were dill apiole (43.2%), linoleic acid (23.1%), trans‐anethole (11.0%), 2‐propanone, 1‐(4‐methoxyphenyl) (4.6%), carvone (3.1%), p‐anisaldehyde (2.7%), and myristicin (1.5%). In conclusion, the results presented here show that dill essential oil could be considered as a source for natural antimicrobial, whereas its extract could be considered as an alternative source of natural antioxidant.  相似文献

Reliability analysis of flexible manufacturing systems   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1  
High productivity is the primary goal of flexible manufacturing systems (FMSs) in which semi-independent workstations are integrated using automated material-transport systems and hierarchical local networks. Availability of various subsystems and of the system as a whole is a prerequisite for achieving functional integration as well as high throughput. An FMS also has inherent routing and operation flexibilities that provide it with a certain degree of fault tolerance. A certain volume of production can thus be maintained in the face of subsystem (i.e., machines, robots, material handling system, etc.) failures. In this article, we propose two reliability measures, namely, part reliability (PR) and FMS reliability (FMSR) for manufacturing systems and present algorithms to evaluate them. We also consider the dynamic or time-dependent reliability analysis as a natural generalization of the static analysis. The methods outlined use an algorithm that generates process-spanning graphs (PSGs), which are used to evaluate the reliability measures.  相似文献

In this article, the current understanding of cyclic fatigue in continuous-fiber-rein-forced ceramic-matric composites is reviewed, with particular emphasis on the stress-number of cycles (S-N) approach to experimentally characterize and theoretically predict fatigue life. N. Miryala earned his M. Tech. in metallurgical engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology at Bombay, India, in 1990. He is a Ph.D. candidate at the University of Tennessee. Mr. Miriyala is a member of TMS. P.K. Liaw is a professor and Ivan Racheff Chair of Excellence in the Department of Materials Science and Engineering at the University of Tennessee.
