In view of the importance of electromagnetic compatibility (EMC), universities worldwide are paying more attention to training electronic engineers with good EMC design knowledge. As part of the EMC training, a practical printed circuit board (PCB) layout project has been offered as an elective to the undergraduates in the authors' universities. The project requires the students to design the PCB layout of a standard digital circuit twice, the first time with no EMC consideration at all, and the second time with careful EMC consideration. The significant difference in the levels of radiated emissions of the two layouts allows the students to appreciate the importance of EMC design at an early stage of product development.  相似文献

In this study, AOT [sodium bis(2-ethylhexyl) sulfosuccinate] combined with fluorinated cosurfactant or alcohol was used to form a water-in-CO2 (W/C) microemulsion. The amount of water uptake in the microemulsion was closely related to the PFPE-PO4/AOT (P/A) ratio. The stability of the microemulsion decreased with the amount of water. Lower temperature and higher pressure stabilize W/C microemulsions. The extraction efficiencies of metals (Cd, Co, Cu, Pb, Zn), when this W/C microemulsion method was used, exceeded 90% (AOT + octanol). The efficiencies for the extraction of Eu, La, and Sr could exceed 94% (AOT + PFPE-PO4) in sc-CO2.  相似文献

This paper presents the design strategy, implementation, and experimental results of a power-efficient third-order low-pass /spl Sigma//spl Delta/ analog-to-digital converter (ADC) using a continuous-time (CT) loop filter. The loop filter has been implemented by using active RC integrators. Several power optimizations, design requirements, and performance limitations relating to circuit nonidealities in the CT modulator are presented. The influence of the low supply voltage on the various building blocks such as the amplifier as well as on the overall /spl Sigma//spl Delta/ modulator is discussed. The ADC was implemented in a 3.3-V 0.5-/spl mu/m CMOS technology with standard threshold voltages. Measurements of the low-power 1.5-V CT /spl Sigma//spl Delta/ ADC show a dynamic range and peak signal-to-noise-plus-distortion ratio of 80 and 70 dB, respectively, in a bandwidth of 25 kHz. The measured power consumption is only 135 /spl mu/W from a single 1.5-V power supply.  相似文献

This paper introduces a possible compensation for finite gain-bandwidth (GBW) induced errors in continuous-time sigma-delta modulators. Therefore, a novel model is derived which reduces the effect of a finite GBW to a corresponding integrator gain-error and feedback loop delays. Thus, previously published methods for the compensation of these errors can be adopted with some modification. The results are confirmed analytically and by simulations and show a possible GBW reduction of about one order of magnitude compared to current designs.  相似文献

This paper deals with one of the most outstanding advantages of continuous-time (CT) sigma-delta modulators compared to their discrete-time counterparts: the implicit anti-aliasing feature (AAF). Although inherent in any CT architecture, analysis of anti-aliasing properties has mostly been restricted to single-stage modulators in the past. In this contribution, extensions on analysis methods for the study of the AAF of CT multistage noise-shaping architectures are covered. A theoretical model is introduced and confirmed through simulation results. Contrary to previous belief, the results indicate that usually all stages of a cascaded architecture are involved in the anti-aliasing behaviour and hence that it is not solely determined by the first stage.  相似文献

This paper presents a means to overcome the high sensitivity of continuous-time sigma-delta (/spl Sigma//spl Delta/) modulators to clock jitter by using a modified switched-capacitor structure with resistive element in the continuous-time feedback digital-analog converter (DAC). The reduced sensitivity to jitter is both simulated and proven by measured results from two implemented third-order modulators. Micron-level alignment of optical components in the laser pickup of a compact disc (CD) system is critical for its performance. The robustness of the rotational alignment of the laser/diffraction grating unit (LDGU) is studied in detail using finite element analysis and Robust Design tools. Robust design simulations were constructed in terms of the process capability indices Cp, Cpk, and yield of the clamping arms used to hold the LDGU in place. Effects of force and torsional load from the actual process were taken into consideration during the simulations. Experimental measurement was used to verify the finite element analysis. The results from both experimental and theoretical analyzes were applied to concurrently modify the design of the clamping arms, reducing the fall-off rate in the production of the laser pickup by 10%. It is demonstrated that the finite element analysis together with the Robust Design approach form a very powerful tool for the designer to achieve the required reliability targets for the product  相似文献

Initially introduced in the late 1960s and early 1970s, dynamic programming algorithms have become increasingly popular in automatic speech recognition. There are two reasons why this has occurred. First, the dynamic programming strategy can be combined with a very efficient and practical pruning strategy so that very large search spaces can be handled. Second, the dynamic programming strategy has turned out to be extremely flexible in adapting to new requirements. Examples of such requirements are the lexical tree organization of the pronunciation lexicon and the generation of a word graph instead of the single best sentence. We attempt to review the use of dynamic programming search strategies for large-vocabulary continuous speech recognition (LVCSR).
