Alumina based particles were prepared from aluminium chloride hydroxide as starting material by sol-gel technique. One series of particles was doped with ferrous oxide. Both series of particles were calcinated at three different temperatures: 700?°C, 800?°C and 900?°C. Poly(methyl methacrylate), PMMA, was used as a matrix and two different types of alumina based particles were added into the matrix to form the composites. All composites consisted of 3?wt% of alumina based particles. The aim of this study was to examine whether and how the temperature of particle calcination affects the microhardness and mechanical properties of the composite. The particles were characterized by the X-ray diffraction (XRD) and physical absorption methods. The morphology of the composites was examined using a field emission scanning electron microscope (FESEM). The microhardness of composites was measured using a traditional Vickers hardness (HV) method. The mechanical characteristics of obtained composites were determined using tensile test and impact testing.  相似文献

Two studies examined the effects of stable, partially changed, and completely changed majority and minority positions within a group on perception and evaluation of the group. It was hypothesized that loss of majority position (majority-to-minority change) would have stronger effects than gain of majority position (minority-to-majority change). The hypothesized asymmetrical effect was demonstrated in that loss of majority position decreased perception of group—self similarity, group attraction, and expectations for positive interactions with the group, whereas a corresponding gain of position did not increase them. Thus immediately following changes, the group is especially fragile because disintegrative forces created by the loss of majority position are stronger than integrative forces created by the gain of majority position. Neurologically intact rats expecting to receive a high-value reward (1.0 M sucrose), licked less for an unexpected low-value reward (0.15% saccharin) than did control subjects that only received the saccharin solution. This reward comparison effect, termed successive negative contrast, was eliminated after bilateral electrolytic lesions of the gustatory thalamus. The results are discussed in terms of disrupted memory processes that may have rendered the lesioned rats incapable of computing the relative reward value of the available solution (0. 15% saccharin) with respect to the memory of the preferred solution (1.0 M sucrose). This study examined reactions to minority and majority positions that were either stable or reversed through group conversion that transformed opponents (supporters) of the minority (majority) into supporters, (opponents) or through group expansion that brought new supporters (opponents) for the minority (majority) into the group. Minorities who became majorities through group expansion, compared with those who changed through group conversion, perceived their supporters and the overall group as significantly more similar to the self, and had significantly higher expectations for future positive interactions within the group. Perception of similarity with the supporters mediated the effect of the experimental conditions on perception of the overall group-self similarity. The synthesis of heteropolyacids-mesoporous silica composites was carried out in acidic media by impregnation and/or by direct incorporation of active phase. The effect of incorporation of heteropolyacids (HPAs) species into organized mesoporous silica was studied by using non-ionic and cationic surfactants. A comparison between direct incorporation of HPAs into mesoporous silica and impregnation of HPAs on mesoporous silica was done. The structure and texture of H3PMo12O40 and H4PVMo11O40 included on mesoporous silica were studied by XRD, SEM-EDS, FT-IR and Raman spectroscopies and BET and pore size distribution. Thermal stability was determined by thermo gravimetric analysis (TGA) and differential thermal analysis (DTA). FT-IR and Raman studies showed that HPAs anions preserved their Keggin structure after incorporation or impregnation on mesoporous silica support.  相似文献

Wall-to-bed mass transfer in the hydraulic transport of spherical glass particles was studied. The experiments were performed by transporting spherical glass particles 1.20, 1.94 and 2.98 mm in diameter with water in a 25.4 mm I.D. tube. The mass transfer coefficients were determined by following rate of dissolution of a segment of the transport tube prepared from benzoic acid.In the runs in hydraulic transport, the Reynolds number of the tube varied between 1826 and 27597. The loading ratio (Gp/Gf) was between 0.026 and 0.474, and the fluid superficial velocity was between 0.267 · Ut and 4.904 · Ut, where Ut represents the single particle terminal velocity. For these ratios, the voidage ranged from 0.7123 to 0.9228.Also, wall-to-bed mass transfer in the single phase flow regime was studied. In the runs without particles, the Reynolds number of the tube varied between 122 and 39132. The data for the mass transfer factor (jD) in single phase flow are correlated for turbulent flow regime, using the Chilton-Colburn's type equations, jD = f(Re). Those investigations were conducted in aim to compare with results for wall-to-bed mass transfer in hydraulic transport.The data for wall-to-bed mass transfer (jD) in hydraulic transport of spherical particles were correlated by treating the flowing fluid-particle suspension as a pseudofluid, by introducing a modified suspension-wall friction coefficient (fw) and a modified Reynolds number (Rem). The data for wall-to-bed mass transfer in the hydraulic transport of particles show that an analogy between mass and momentum transfer exists.  相似文献

Wall-to-bed heat transfer in hydraulic transport of spherical glass particles of diameter 1.20, 1.94 and 2.98 mm and in single-phase flow regime was studied. Experiments were performed by transporting the spherical glass particles with water in a 25.4 mm I.D. copper tube equipped with a steam jacket.In the runs without particles, the tube Reynolds number varied between 2280 and 21,300, while in hydraulic transport runs, the tube Reynolds number varied between 3300 and 20,150. The loading ratio (Gp/Gf) was between 0.07 and 0.328, and the fluid superficial velocity was between 0.29·Ut and 2.86·Ut, where Ut represents the single particle terminal velocity. For these ratios, the voidage ranged from 0.715 to 0.895.The data for the heat transfer factor (jH) in single-phase flow are correlated using a general form jH=f(Re). The data for wall-to-bed heat transfer in the hydraulic transport of particles show that an analogy between heat and momentum transfer exists. The data were correlated by treating the flowing fluid-particle suspension as a pseudofluid, by introducing a modified suspension-wall friction coefficient (fw) and a modified Reynolds number (Rem).  相似文献

Atom transfer free radical polymerization (ATRP) was employed in a synthesis of graft polymer EVA-g-PMMA with controlled length of side PMMA chains. Three steps of synthesis: partial hydrolysis of EVA, esterification with chloroacetyl chloride and ATRP grafting were performed to produce EVAOH, macroinitiator EVACl and grafted polymers G8020 (EVA/PMMA?=?80/20 wt%) and G6040 (EVA/PMMA?=?60/40 wt%). FTIR, Raman and NMR spectroscopy were used in the determination of the chemical structure and modification of EVA. Transmitted light and dark field microscopy showed higher affinity for coil formation of EVA-g-PMMA with longer PMMA side chains, i.e. G6040 compatibilizer. Morphological, thermal and adhesive properties of optical fiber adhesives of graft polymers and polymer blends poly(ethylene-co-vinyl acetate)-blend-poly(methyl methacrylate) (EVA/PMMA) compatibilized with 1 wt% of EVA-g-PMMA, were studied. Image analysis of SEM micrographs showed effective compatibilization with short grafted chains (G8020) that was indicated by lower porosity characteristics. TG/DTG analysis enabled determination of degree of hydrolysis and amount of chloro-functionalized groups. DSC analysis showed higher thermal stability of G8020 polymer. Single lap joint of adhesives/optical fibers were subjected to adhesive testing and obtained results for maximal force applied and adhesive failure suggested the visible influence of the length of graft chains on adhesion.  相似文献

To determine whether damage of the gustatory thalamus (the parvicellular region of the ventroposteromedial nucleus) disrupts the perceived value of reinforcing stimuli, the performance of rats with bilateral, electrophysiologically guided, electrolytic lesions of the area was examined in Experiment 1 with a progressive-ratio schedule of reinforcement. Lesioned rats showed normal concentration-dependent changes in break point (an index of the amount of effort a subject will expend to obtain reinforcement) and in consummatory responding (licking) for the sucrose reward. In the reward comparison procedure of Experiment 2, however, the same lesioned rats failed to show morphine-induced suppression of alanine consumption. The results provide no support for the view that the thalamic taste area is involved in the perception of the absolute reinforcing value of gustatory stimuli. The possibility of sorption of technetium‐99 in the form of pertechnetate anion (TcO4?) and the sorption kinetics for removing TcO4? from aqueous solution by chelating polymers based on glycidyl methacrylate (GMA) were investigated. Two samples of macroporous crosslinked poly(glycidyl methacrylate‐co‐ethylene glycol dimethacrylate) (PGME), with different amount of the crosslinker (ethylene glycol dimethacrylate, EGDMA), were synthesized by suspension copolymerization and functionalized with diethylene triamine (deta). We propose that nonspecific sorption of pertechnetate anion via electrostatic interactions takes place at the protonated amino groups of macroporous crosslinked copolymer. The results of batch experiments performed at pH 1–14 showed fast sorption kinetics for removing TcO4? by amino‐functionalized PGME‐deta in a wide range of pH, that is, from 1.0 to 9.0. Almost complete removal of TcO4? (91–98%) was reached within 180 min in the stated pH range (1.0–9.0), with the sorption half‐times of under 25 min. The partitioning coefficients of linear adsorption isotherms, with 180‐min equilibrium time, reach the high values of 2130 mL g?1 and 1698 mL g?1 for the two samples of synthesized PGME‐deta. © 2011 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
