The Zlatoust Metallurgical Plant has developed a technology that employs semi-dry pressing to make two-layer (composite) heat-insulating inserts for ingot-mold hot tops. The working layer is made of a mixture of materials based on quartz sand, while the insulating layer is based on foamed vermiculate. The basic stages and directions of upgrading and reconstruction of the power-generating units of nuclear power plants with
RBMK reactors over a period of 20 yr since the Chernobyl accident are reflected in this paper. The greatest amount of work
was done in 1986–1990 on all units with RBMK-1000 and-1500 reactors which were operating at that time in the USSR. The purpose
of the upgrade was to improve the neutron-physical characteristics of the reactor cores, increase the response speed of the
safety and control system and decrease the positive effect of water outflow from the cooling loop of this system, increase
the flow capacity of the systems performing emergency discharge of the steam-gas mixture from the reactor, and improve the
basic operating documentation.
The subsequent stages of the upgrading and reconstruction concerned mainly the first-generation power-generating units (Nos.
1 and 2 units of the Leningrad and Kursk nuclear power plants). These works were performed to make the power-generating units
conform to the requirements of the modern normative documents on safety and allow for the possibility of these units to remain
in operation after the nominal 30-yr service life has been exhausted.

Based on data obtained in terms of the first International cooperative program on the effects of acidic precipitations on materials (ICP Materials) of the United Nations European Commission on Economics (UN ECE), the relations between the ozone O3 and nitrogen dioxide NO2 concentrations in combination with the sunshine effect (taken into account either as the solar radiation (Rad) or the sunshine duration (Sun)) are considered. Analysis based on monthly and annual averages led to a new equation recommended for predicting ozone levels over rural, urban, and industrial areas of Europe as a function of NO2 concentration and Sun parameter. Using Rad instead of Sun provides similar results, but, for practical usage, the equation involving a more easily available parameter Sun was recommended. The new equation corrects and improves the earlier proposed one, in which the concentration of ozone was given as a function of NO2 concentration solely, and is included in the UN ECE Manual on mapping critical loads / levels and geographical areas where they are exceeded. 相似文献

A new, powerful method of analysis, involving the combined use of finite integral transform and finite element techniques, is presented for the solution of time dependent heat flow systems composed of many one-dimensional elements connected through the nodes. This method leads to an eigenvalue problem which is not of the conventional Sturm-Liouville type. A procedure for the determination of the eigenvalues is described. The solution obtained is in the form of an infinite series and contains quasi-steady and transient terms.
