Ozone in the gas phase and hydrogen peroxide in the liquid phase were simultaneously formed in hybrid electrical discharge reactors, known as the hybrid-series and hybrid-parallel reactors, which utilize both gas phase nonthermal plasma formed above the water surface and direct liquid phase corona-like discharge in the water. In the series configuration the high voltage needle-point electrode is submerged and the ground electrode is placed in the gas phase above the water surface. The parallel configuration employs a high voltage electrode in the gas phase and a high voltage needle-point electrode in the liquid phase with the ground electrode placed at the gas-liquid interface. In both hybrid reactors the gas phase concentration of ozone reached a power-dependent steady state, whereas the hybrid-parallel reactor produced a substantially larger amount of ozone than the hybrid series. Hydrogen peroxide was produced in both hybrid reactors at a similar rate to that of a single-phase liquid electrical discharge reactor. The resulting concentration of H/sub 2/O/sub 2/ in the hybrid reactors, however, depended on the pH of the solution and the gas phase ozone concentration since H/sub 2/O/sub 2/ was decomposed by dissolved ozone at high pH.  相似文献

An important role is played by the compressor in the petrochemical industry. Typical high-speed compressor drivers are turbines and induction and synchronous motors. The cylindrical-rotor synchronous motor and its application as a high-speed compressor driver is discussed. Important tasks within the production processes of the petrochemical industry include gas liquefaction, compression, refrigeration, and heat recovery. Compressor drive systems constitute important components in plants for such processes. In the past, large high-speed radial and axial compressors were driven mainly by turbines, but in recent years electric motors have been used increasingly. In addition to lower plant costs, the advantages Include high operating efficiency, low pollution, and simpler handling and maintenance. The majority of drives are operating at constant speed, using a four-or six-pole motor with stepup gear. For large ratings, synchronous motors are preferred. For these a number of specific characteristics, such as electrically excited oscillating torques during asynchronous acceleration and special cooling conditions, must be considered. The urge for optimum operating characteristics has led to the development of the synchronous motor with laminated cylindrical rotor, derived from the two-pole turbine-driven generator. The design structure, the steady-state and dynamic operating characteristics, and the starting performance during asynchronous acceleration of such synchronous drive systems are the topics covered here. The theoretical background has been excluded from the normal text and is summarized in the Appendices.  相似文献

Aluminium doped barium and strontium hexaferrite nanoparticles BaAlxFe(12−x)O19 and SrAlxFe(12−x)O19 were synthesised via a sol-gel route using citric acid to complex the ions followed by an auto-combustion reaction. This method shows promise for the synthesis of complex ferrite powders with small particle size. It was found that around half of the iron could be substituted for aluminium in the barium ferrite with structure retention, whereas strontium aluminium ferrites could be produced with any aluminium content including total substitution of the iron. All synthesised materials consisted of particles smaller than 1 μm, which is the size of a single magnetic domain, and various doping levels were achieved with the final elemental composition being within the bounds of experimental error. The materials show structural and morphological changes as they move from iron to aluminium ferrites. Such materials may be promising for imaging applications.  相似文献

The Galbeta1-3GalNAcalpha (TF antigen)-binding lectin (ABL) from the common edible mushroom (Agaricus bisporus) has a potent anti-proliferative effect without any apparent cytotoxicity. This unusual combination of properties prompted investigation of its mechanism of action. In contrast to soluble lectin, agarose-immobilized, and hence noninternalizable ABL had no effect on proliferation of HT29 colon cancer cells. Electron microscopy of HT29 cells incubated with fluorescein- and gold-conjugated ABL showed internalization of the lectin into endocytotic vesicles and multivesicular bodies. Confocal microscopy showed perinuclear accumulation of fluorescein isothiocyanate-conjugated lectin, which also inhibits HT29 cell proliferation, raising the possibility that the lectin might interfere with nuclear pore function. Transport of heat shock protein 70 into the nucleus in response to heat shock was blocked by preincubation of HT29 cells for 6 h with 40 micrograms/ml ABL. In digitonin-permeabilized cells, nuclear uptake of bovine albumin conjugated to a nuclear localization sequence (NLS)-containing peptide was also inhibited by a 15-min preincubation with 40-100 micrograms/ml ABL. In contrast, serum-stimulated nuclear translocation of mitogen-activated protein kinase, which is NLS-independent, was not affected by pretreatment of cells with the lectin. These results suggest that the anti-proliferative effect of ABL is likely to be a consequence of the lectin trafficking to the nuclear periphery, where it blocks NLS-dependent protein uptake into the nucleus.  相似文献

In this work, an analysis and experimental research on a grout delivery mechanism in the lining of shafts has been accomplished. The dynamic equation of this spraying mechanism has been established and describes the system's performance properties under different conditions of viscous friction force. The analysis introduces a combined viscous damping coefficient c* and a ratio λ between viscous friction force and inertia force. It is proved theoretically that the relative velocity of the grout is less than the implicate velocity and the emission angle α described in the paper is always larger than 45°. Numerical simulations have been performed by feeding various different parameters into the model. Meanwhile, experimental research has been carried out, in which attention has been directed towards the directional spraying function. The real rotation to impact angles have been acquired for different values of variable ξ and the running speed of the disc. The theoretical analysis and the experimental results were in agreement. Additionally, a formula for calculating the driving torque and power has been developed. This research lays the foundation for creating remote concrete spraying machines that have a directional spray capability for the lining of shafts.  相似文献

In a previous study we reported that the NSAID sulindac had a marked inhibitory effect on the development of colonic tumours in mice treated with the carcinogen 1,2-dimethylhydrazine (DMH). In this study we examined the effects of sulindac in respect of cell-kinetic changes in mouse colonic mucosa as determined by flash labelling with the thymidine analogue bromodeoxyuridine (BrdUrd) at varying intervals during the process of colonic carcinogenesis. We also investigated the possibility that these changes may be modulated by misoprostol a prostaglandin E1 analogue. Four groups of 36 mice each were treated for 18 weeks with the following drug/s respectively: (1) DMH; (2) DMH and sulindac; (3) DMH, sulindac and misoprostol; and (4) DMH and misoprostol. Three animals from each group were killed each week between the sixth week and the eighteenth week after the start of the experiment. A 1-h flash label technique was employed and paraffin sections of colonic mucosa were examined. For each animal a total of 50 perfect axially cut crypts were chosen and the following parameters determined: crypt length, labelling index and labelling index distribution: the data were analysed using the computer program GLIM. For each of the four groups, crypt lengths increased significantly with the duration of treatment with no significant difference between the groups. In sulindac-treated animals the labelling index for all positions increased with duration of treatment whereas for animals not treated with sulindac there was no significant difference in labelling index with respect to duration of treatment. The administration of misoprostol did not appear to significantly alter the effects of sulindac. It is postulated that the observed increase in cell proliferation could be a compensatory phenomenon occurring secondary to loss of crypt epithelial cells by apoptosis induced by sulindac. Also the finding of an increase in labelling index mediated by a chemopreventive agent indirectly questions the rationale behind the therapeutic manipulation of crypt cell proliferation in order to reduce the risk of colon cancer.  相似文献
