This communication reports into the effects of flow, fluid composition and the effectiveness of imidazoline inhibitors on the evolution and distribution of corrosion products on 1018 C-steel exposed to CO2 corrosion. Focused ion beam technique was used to measure the thickness of the corrosion product layer (CPL), in contrast to the conventional techniques used to observe the cross-section of specimens. Morphological analysis using scanning electron microscopy revealed topographical variations on the surface with the change in the multiphase environment. The CPL was found to be more porous in nature with the presence of oil in the multiphase environment. Electrochemical impedance spectroscopy was also used in the present study to measure the corrosion rates and was subsequently correlated to the CPL evolution for 1018 C-steel in multiphase environment.  相似文献

Cross Virtual Concatenation is the new technique proposed for bandwidth efficient transmission of data over SDH networks. SDH networks came into existence for reliable voice transmission. As the demand of data traffic grew in wide area networks, new technologies were developed and standardized for data transmission over SDH networks. The technologies used namely, GFP (generic framing procedure), VCAT (virtual concatenation) and LCAS (link capacity adjustment scheme) enable network operator to provide integrated voice and data services over their legacy SDH infrastructure. Data packets are encapsulated using framing protocols GFP. VCAT is a process of distributing the GFP framed data payload in number of virtual channels of same capacity forming a Virtually Concatenated Group (VCG). LCAS is used for dynamic bandwidth allocation. LCAS enhances the VCAT scheme with hitless in service addition and removal of VC’s to/from the VCG.VCAT combines homogeneous virtual channels together which in some cases limits the performance of VCAT. This paper describes the implementation of new concatenation technology named cross virtual concatenation (CVC), which combines heterogeneous VC’s together to utilize the SDH bandwidth more efficiently. CVC implementation requires only end node equipments to be upgraded as VCG members travel through the link similar to the conventional VCAT. This paper proposes FPGA implementation of transmitter and receiver circuits for 100 Mbps Ethernet data transmission over next Generation SDH systems using CVC, where two types of VC’s namely VC-3 and VC-12 are used for data transmission. Total Transmission delay is calculated as 125 μs. There is no complexity added at the receiver side due to this delay. The receiver is designed for 32 ms differential delay compensation which can be increased up to maximum 256 ms by increasing the buffer size at the receiver.  相似文献

Hydrogen fuel cell vehicle (HFCV) is one of the key contributors to sustainable development of the society. For commercial deployment and market acceptability of fuel cell vehicles, efficient storage of hydrogen with an optimum refueling is one of the important challenge. Compressed hydrogen storage in Type IV tanks is a mature and promising technology for on-board application. The fast refueling of the storage tank without overheating and overfilling is an essential requirement defined by SAE J2601. In this regard, station parameters such as hydrogen supply temperature, filling rate and vehicle tank parameters such as filling time strongly influences the storage capacity of the tank, affecting driving range of the fuel cell vehicle. This paper investigates the impact of these parameters on storage density of the tank defined in terms of state of charge. For this, refueling simulation based on SAE J2601 protocol has been performed using computational fluid dynamic approach to investigate the influence of station parameters on storage density of the tank. Further, the root cause analysis was carried out to investigate the contribution of station and vehicle tank parameters for enhancing the storage density of the tank. Finally, the regression model based on these refueling parameters was developed to predict the density attained at different filling conditions. The results confirmed the strong contribution of pressure, filling time, supply temperature and least contribution of temperature, filling rates in enhancing the storage density of the tank. The results can provide new insight into refueling behavior of the Type IV tank for fuel cell vehicle.  相似文献

In oxidic spinels containing transition metal ions, the tetrahedral and octahedral bond distances differ by less than 0·25 Å. Therefore, in the case of a cation occupying both the sites, the normalized EXAFS for first coordination shell gives the average bond distance and average coordination number respectively over all the bonds and the positions of the cation under investigation. EXAFS analysis of fourteen mixed lithium ferrite spinels was carried out to show how the average bond distance can fruitfully be used to obtain the exact cation distribution, in conformity with X-ray diffraction data.  相似文献

We investigated retailer compliance with point-of-sale display legislation, using a New Zealand region as a case study. An observational survey was conducted of nonspecialist tobacco retailers in the lower North Island of New Zealand during 2006. Compliance was assessed in relation to store type (dairies, convenience stores, supermarkets, and service stations) and by characteristics of the population of the census area unit in which the store was situated. These characteristics include the level of socioeconomic deprivation and proportions of Maori (indigenous New Zealanders), Pacific Islanders, and children aged less than 19 years. Out of the 288 stores surveyed, 185 (64%) had at least one breach of the point-of-sale regulations. The most common breaches were a failure to display a "Smoking Kills" sign, visibility of tobacco from outside the premises, and displaying tobacco less than 1 m from children's products. Compliance was significantly worse in dairies (small local general stores) and convenience stores. Stores situated in areas in the top quartile for the proportion of children were much more likely to have high levels of noncompliance (> or =3 breaches) and to display tobacco products close to children's products. This study is one of very few to systematically investigate retailer compliance with point-of-sale display regulations for tobacco products. The results suggest that the implementation of legislation to partly limit retail displays of tobacco products can be difficult. A ban on retail displays of tobacco products is likely to be a more effective and enforceable policy.  相似文献

Hydrothermal liquefaction (HTL), a thermo-chemical conversion process, uses water as a reaction medium at elevated pressure and temperature, to convert biomass to renewable liquid fuel and recovers fertilizer-rich water. To assess the techno-economic screening of HTL oils from various feedstock, it is crucial to have information on molecular composition of the feed and products. There are limitations of existing analytical methods to identify and quantify all the molecules present in the bio-fuel. Therefore, there is a need to find alternate ways to quantify the molecular composition of feed and expected products. The modeling work on bio-oil is developed and validated on mathematical approach using simple analytical results like CHNO along with structural analysis of oil like Fourier-transform infrared, nuclear magnetic resonance analysis for HTL derived oil from microalgae. This mathematical framework is further extended to predict the molecular composition of oil obtained from HTL of feedstocks like mixed plastic waste, sludge, and so on. A multi-dimensional molecular matrix is developed based on the distributions of side chains, aromatic rings, and olefinic carbon on top of core molecules. The parameters of the distributions are estimated computationally using global optimization algorithm (genetic algorithm) and local optimization algorithm to predict a mixture composition that matches closely with bulk properties of the product.  相似文献

Effects of leading edge erosion on wind turbine blade performance   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1  
This paper presents results of a study to investigate the effect of leading edge erosion on the aerodynamic performance of a wind turbine airfoil. The tests were conducted on the DU 96‐W‐180 wind turbine airfoil at three Reynolds numbers between 1 million and 1.85 million, and angles of attack spanning the nominal low drag range of the airfoil. The airfoil was tested with simulated leading edge erosion by varying both the type and severity of the erosion to investigate the loss in performance due to an eroded leading edge. Tests were also run with simulated bugs on the airfoil to assess the impact of insect accretion on airfoil performance. The objective was to develop a baseline understanding of the aerodynamic effects of varying levels of leading edge erosion and to quantify their relative impact on airfoil performance. Results show that leading edge erosion can produce substantial airfoil performance degradation, yielding a large increase in drag coupled with a significant loss in lift near the upper corner of the drag polar, which is key to maximizing wind turbine energy production. Total vegetable oil greases are those in which both the lubricant and gellant are formed from vegetable oil. Vegetable oil may be used as a lubricant as such or, with appropriate structural modification, as an ester or alkylated ester. Total vegetable oil greases have the advantage of good biodegradability and conform to the requirements for high performance. Total vegetable‐oil based greases can be formed by mixing preformed soap and lubricant in the required proportions to form a grease with the desired properties. Alternatively, a grease can be formed from the same vegetable oil by simultaneous alcoholysis and saponification of the oil to form the lubricant and soap. The alkali used as a catalyst for the alcoholysis reaction serves as a reactant for the saponification reaction. The use of the appropriate proportion of oil, alcohol, and alkali will thus form a grease of the desired composition. A simultaneous reaction scheme to form sodium and lithium grease using castor oil has been studied. The alcoholysis reaction is separately studied for its kinetics, and the kinetics of the alcoholysis and saponification reaction are reported. Greases with 20% soap have been formed and their properties evaluated.  相似文献
