This paper presents an approach of measuring in real-time the vector of finger that is pointing to an object. DSP is used
in the operation processing unit in order to do the real-time processing. The steps include the extraction of flesh-colored
regions from an image, the labeling of the flesh-colored regions, and the detection of two characteristic positions on the
finger so that the direction that the finger is pointing at will be calculated. The entire process takes about 29 msec, which
makes it possible to have the frame rate of 34 fps. With this frame rate, this measurement approach is considered real-time
and promising to be merged into other application systems.

The glycosphingolipid compositions of rat mammary tumour cell lines with different metastatic potentials for the lung [a parental tumour cell line (MTC) and its subclones MTLn2 (a non metastatic subclone) and MTLn3 (a subclone with high metastatic potential to the lung)] were studied using a newly developed TLC blotting/secondary ion mass spectrometry system and crude glycosphingolipids obtained from 0.5-1 x 10(7) cells of each cell line. GM3 and GM2 were the major components of the MTC cell line, but they were very minor components in the MTLn2 and MTLn3 cell lines, GDla being the major ganglioside HexNAc-fucosyl-GMla was found in the MTLn2 cells by the TLC blotting/SIMS method, and the terminal sugar linkage was shown to be a blood group A-type structure by immunostaining. These findings suggest that the ganglioside is a novel type of blood group A-active ganglioside, GalNAc alpha 1-3(fuc alpha 1 -2)GMla. No blood group A-active lipid was present in MTLn3 cells, whereas Hex-GMla and neutral glycosphingolipids with more than 5 sugar residues were. 相似文献

We investigated the effect of bioflavonoid quercetin on tyrosine phosphorylation and phospholipase D (PLD, EC 3.1.4.4) activation in rabbit peritoneal neutrophils stimulated by N-formylmethionyl-leucyl-phenylalanine (fMLP). The quercetin dose-dependently inhibited degranulation and superoxide production in fMLP-stimulated neutrophils. A strong inhibitory effect of quercetin on the tyrosine phosphorylation of several proteins (40, 42, 43, 45, 46 and 75 kDa) was observed when the neutrophils were pretreated with different concentrations of quercetin. Furthermore, quercetin inhibited mitogen activated protein kinase (MAP kinase) and PLD activation induced by fMLP in a dose-dependent manner. The reduction in PLD activity was 30% at 0.1 microM and 70% at 100 microM of quercetin. These results suggest that impairment of neutrophil functions by quercetin may be due, at least in part, to inhibition of tyrosine phosphorylation and PLD activation. 相似文献

In the current paper crack redirection due to a strategic placing of a heat source in the vicinity of a crack tip is studied. Analysis suggests that for PMMA and considered temperature range the only factor responsible for the deviation of crack trajectory is thermal stress. The simulation of crack growth in PMMA under external tension and secondary heat loading shows that a moving heat source in the vicinity of a crack tip can serve as a pointer for the crack trajectory. In highly conductive materials, redirection can be possibly effected with low-power thermal dipoles. 相似文献

Recent evidence suggests that fibrotic liver injury in patients with chronic hepatitis C correlates with cellular senescence in damaged liver tissue. However, it is still unclear how senescence can affect replication of the hepatitis C virus (HCV). In this work, we report that an inhibitor of cyclin-dependent kinases 4/6, palbociclib, not only induced in hepatoma cells a pre-senescent cellular phenotype, including G1 arrest in the cell cycle, but also accelerated viral replicon multiplication. Importantly, suppression of HCV replication by direct acting antivirals (DAAs) was barely affected by pre-senescence induction, and vice versa, the antiviral activities of host-targeting agents (HTAs), such as inhibitors of human histone deacetylases (HDACi), produced a wide range of reactions—from a dramatic reduction to a noticeable increase. It is very likely that under conditions of the G1 arrest in the cell cycle, HDACi exhibit their actual antiviral potency, since their inherent anticancer activity that complicates the interpretation of test results is minimized. 相似文献

A Cr/Al2O3 alkane dehydrogenation catalyst exhibits a maximum in ethylene yield during an ethane dehydrogenation cycle. Isotopic labelling experiments with monolabelled 13C-ethane and deuterium were used to elucidate whether the initial activity increase could be due to formation of an active, larger hydrocarbon intermediate on the surface. The results strongly indicate that this is not the case, and instead point to a traditional reaction cycle involving adsorption of ethane to form an ethyl species, followed by desorption of ethene and hydrogen. Transient kinetic data suggest that ethane adsorption is the rate-determining step of reaction. 相似文献

Technology readiness (TR) represents an individual’s mental readiness to accept new technologies. Although the TR scale has been used in many studies, its application in the healthcare context is limited. This paper focuses on identifying the TR profiles of medical staff and to model preference TR variations with respect to computer use, computer knowledge and computer feature demands. The study reports results from a nationwide study conducted in Greece, during a three-year period, which sampled responses from 604 physicians and nurses working in 14 Greek hospitals. Exploratory Structural Equation Modelling analysis is used in order to confirm the structure of the Technology Readiness Index. The results confirm the five groups of the TR taxonomy. Statistical differences were found between classes in information and communication technology (ICT) knowledge, ICT feature demands, hours of use per week as well as ICT use performance, but not in the general use of ICT. The results facilitate comprehension of the factors, which influence the use of ICT by medical staff and, in addition, they convey important policy and managerial implications. In conclusion, medical staff should be treated according to its TR taxonomy classes in order to expedite the acceptance and use of an ICT system. 相似文献

The sol-gel process for the hydrolysis and polycondensation of tin tetra-n-butoxide in butanol was followed by viscosity measurements. The precipitation of tin-containing ultrafine particles was observed without any variation in the solution viscosity in the absence of diethylene glycols, while the viscosity increase was made without any precipitation by the addition of diethylene glycol. The induction period and the rate of the viscosity increase after the induction period was independent of the diethylene glycol content but depended upon the water content. The Monte Carlo simulation data were consistent with data for the viscosity experiment. The simulation was based on a kinetic model of the slow hydrolysis of tin tetra-n-butoxide, the reverse reaction of hydrolysis, and the polycondensation of the hydroxy derivatives. 相似文献

Although Governance, Risk and Compliance (GRC) is an emerging field of study within the information systems (IS) academic community, the concept behind the acronym has to still be demystified and further investigated. The study investigates GRC systems in depth by (a) reviewing the literature on existing GRC studies, and (b) presenting a field study on views about GRC application by professional experts. The aim of this exploratory study is to understand the aspects and the nature of the GRC system following an enterprise systems approach. The result of this study is a framework of particular GRC characteristics that need to be taken into consideration when these systems are put in place. This framework includes specific areas such as: goals and objectives, purpose of the system, key stakeholders, methodology and requirements prior to implementation, critical success factors and problems/barriers. Further discussion about the issues, the concerns and the diverse views on GRC would assist in developing an agenda for the future research on the GRC field. 相似文献
