Antioxidant potential and bioaccessibility of co‐products from industrial pasteurised pomegranate nectar (PN) processing such as peel (PP), press cake (PC) and precipitate after clarification (PAC) in comparison with raw material (arils) and final products (CON and PN) were determined. Total phenolic (TPC), flavonoid (TFC), anthocyanin (TAC), tannin contents (TTC) and antioxidant activity (TAA) were determined besides identifying major phenolics and investigating in vitro bioaccessibility after gastrointestinal (GI) digestion. PP showed the highest values, except for TAC. Phenolics (12.7–43.0%) were found to be more stable than anthocyanins (0.6–2.1%) after in vitro GI digestion. PAC was found to be a better source for anthocyanins than CON and also showed higher phenolic bioaccessibility (28.8%) than PN (19.6%). PC and PAC possessed as much TPC, TFC, TTC and TAA levels as CON, with some exceptions. Therefore, these results indicated that not only PP but also PC and PAC should be valorised as a good source for phenolics and anthocyanins.  相似文献

There has been a great interest in research towards elastomers and their composites with an attempt to obtain the desired biological and mechanical response to scaffold materials in bone tissue engineering. Composites made of ceramic-thermoplastic mixtures have been shown success to deliver the inorganic component while fail to provide replacement of an elastic protein, that is, collagen, of the target bone tissue. Thus, in order to match up with the inherent elasticity of the native tissue, it is proposed an alternative to well-known thermoplastic-containing matrices by using a poly(glycerol-sebacate) (PGS)–beta-tricalcium phosphate elastomeric composite to offer flexibility and mechanical integrity. This study reports for the first time a successful extrusion of PGS containing biodegradable composites with shape-memory feature. The resulting structures are physically and chemically characterized. In vitro cell culture performance of the obtained materials is investigated by using an MC3T3-E1 mouse preosteoblast cell line. The materials obtained in this study can be shaped into the desired size and various forms via temperature stimuli. Resulting materials have been proposed for craniofacial tissue engineering as a bone filler in which surgeons need to shape biomaterials during the surgical procedure due to the complex geometry of the bones. © 2019 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. In this study, drilled core values from the Magnesite Incorporated Company—its original Turkish name being Manyezit Anonim Sirketi (MAS)—Beylikova Magnesite Open-Pit Mine in Eskisehir-Turkey provided multivariate ore grade and reserve estimates that were used to integrate geostatistical estimation methods with Geographic Information Systems (GIS) technology. GIS technology is known for with its visual and spatial query capabilities in three-dimensional (3D) environments. Using the company’s topographical maps, a digital terrain model of the mine area of interest was generated in a GIS environment. Bore hole locations, drilled core values and cutting depths were also input to the sophisticated spatial geodatabase. Ore impurity grade values were analyzed according to their lognormal distributions, then evaluated by applying their corresponding variogram and cross-variogram models — models used in ordinary cokriging. To estimate ore reserve and grade, ordinary cokriging techniques were used: a twovariable model with two different variable combinations and a three-variable model. Spatial queries were applied to estimation results in a 3D GIS platform in order to determine the location, shape, and quantity of the ore body. Subsequently, the Mean Standardized Square Error (MSSE) statistical procedure was applied to the estimation results to assess and compare their accuracy. Based on these assessments, it was determined that ordinary cokriging with three variables was the most appropriate and accurate approach for estimating ore grade distribution and reserve in Beylikova Open-Pit Mine.  相似文献

Conventional geostatistical prediction methods can be used to carry out resource classification in ore beds and for reliability measurements. A field investigation based on lignite thickness data was conducted for resource classification in Eskisehir-Mihaliccik-Koyunagili coal basin. Moreover, a fuzzy logic-based resource classification method has been recently proposed to eliminate the uncertainties encountered in the conduct of conventional resource classification procedure. Fuzzy logic-based classification provides gradual transitions between two adjacent resource classes. In addition, the proposed method can classify each block by assigning a membership degree for handling decision-making problems encountered in conventional resource classification methods.  相似文献

We have investigated the structural characteristics of the experimentally observed phase transition of a silver nanowire into a tube under tensile strain. In the simulations, atoms are allowed to interact via a model potential extracted from the modified embedded atom method. Our calculations demonstrate that the formation of the hollow structure is governed by the nature of the applied strain, the length of the wire, and the initial cross-sectional shape. The results further offer insights into the atomistic nature of this specific structural transformation into a nanotube with the smallest possible cross-section.  相似文献

In this study, the effects of Cu, Zr, Ti, Y, Pt substitution for Nb additions on the stability and magnetic properties of Fe-Ni-based bulk metallic glass (BMG) alloys fabricated by the suction casting method are investigated. The saturation magnetization (J s) and coercivity (H c) for as-cast Fe36Ni36B19.2Si4.8Nb4?x M x (M=Cu, Ti) BMG alloys were in the range of 0.51 T–0.55 T and 76–779 A/m, respectively. Differential scanning calorimetry curves show that the Fe36Ni36B19.2Si4.8Nb4?x M x (M=Cu, Ti) bulk metallic glasses have a supercooled liquid region for Cu at 44 K and for Ti at 39 K.  相似文献

The seasonal variations of fatty acids compositions in the muscle, liver, and ovarian tissues of mirror carp (Cyprinus carpio) living in Örenler Dam Lake were determined by using gas chromatography. The results obtained were subjected to statistical analyses by employing SPSS software and p < 0.05 was accepted as significant value. In the statistical analyses, multiple comparisons tests were performed. The results showed that monounsaturated fatty acids levels were found to be higher than that of polyunsaturated fatty acids and saturated fatty acids in all seasons. Palmitic and stearic acid levels were the highest in ovaries (19.95% in winter and 7.79% in summer, respectively). Oleic and palmitoleic levels were at the highest levels in liver tissues (34.53% in summer and 18.37% in winter, respectively). Docosahexaenoic (C22:6ω3, DHA), eicosapentaenoic (C20:5ω3, EPA), eicosatrienoic acid, and arachidonic (C20:4ω6, AA) levels were at the highest level as 17.27, 2.54, and 8.41% in ovaries in the winter and 6.37% in muscle tissues in the spring, respectively. ω3/ω6 ratios were 0.62–0.98 in muscle, 1.54–2.82 in the liver, and 2.82–3.89 in the ovaries. From the point of total fatty acid variations, the highest variations were observed as follows: muscle in spring (26.73%), liver in winter (33.85%), and ovaries in winter 36.38%.  相似文献

A three-dimensional non-isothermal mathematical model is developed in a triple mixed serpentine flow multichannel domain for a high temperature PEM Fuel Cell having a phosphoric acid doped PBI membrane as electrolyte and an active area of 25 cm2 within Comsol Multiphysics. The inlet temperatures of cathode and anode reactants are taken as 438 K. Model predicts pressure, and temperature distribution along the channels and membrane current density distribution over the membrane electrodes. The model results are obtained at two different operation voltages, 0.45 V and 0.60 V. Resulting average current densities are respectively 0.313 A cm?2 and 0.224 A cm?2. The non-isothermal model results are compared to isothermal model results from a previous study and various other single channel non-isothermal model results available in the literature. The pressure drop at cathode compartment is predicted to be 6500 Pa, whereas it is found to be 6400 Pa for the isothermal model. The temperature difference within the system is found to be 0.18 K for the operation voltage of 0.6 V, whereas this value increases to 0.31 K for the operation voltage of 0.45 V. The temperature difference isocontours are illustrated for the whole cell. Considering changes in temperature, one can employ isothermal operation assumption for this system as an approximation and simplification for the governing equations, since the variation in the temperature within the cell is less than 1 K. It should be emphasized that multichannel model predictions are more realistic compared to single channel models. The model developed here can be extended to larger electrode active area and different multichannel configurations.  相似文献
