Outstanding stability has been observed in Al/Al/sub x/Ga/sub 1-x/As and Al/GaAs/Al/sub x/Ga/sub 1-x/As (x=0.25) Schottky barriers prepared by depositing Al in situ by MBE on annealing up to 400 degrees C. Conventionally evaporated barriers have been fabricated and compared with epitaxial ones. The changes in barrier height and ideality factor induced by annealing are reported.<>  相似文献

ABSTRACT: Efficacy and safety of biopreservatives were studied for microbiological control of alcohol fermentation. Minimum inhibitory concentrations of nisin and lysozyme, and combinations with EDTA and Tween 20, were determined for Lactobacillus plantarum, L. fermentum , and L. confusus. The highest MIC value for nisin was 9.0 ppm for L. fermentum. Lysozyme was efficient against L. plantarum (700 ppm). A 24 factorial design was used to study the effect of biopreservatives and potentiators on the growth kinetics of Lactobacillus fermentum. The combination of 8.6 ppm of nisin plus 0.1% of Tween 20 delayed the lag phase by 12 h. The biopreservatives did not affect the fermentation kinetics of Saccharomyces cerevisiae.  相似文献

This paper describes an inverse procedure to determine the constitutive constants and the friction conditions in the machining processes using Finite Elements (FE) simulations. In general, the FE modeling of machining processes is an effective tool to analyze the materials machinability under different cutting conditions. However, the use of reliable rheological and friction models represents the basis of a correct numerical investigation. The presented inverse procedure was based on the numerical results obtained using a commercial FE code and was developed considering a specific optimization problem, in which the objective functions that have to be minimized is the experimental/numerical error. This problem was performed by a routine developed in a commercial optimization software. In order to verify the goodness and the robustness of the methodology, it was applied on a Super Duplex Stainless Steel (SDSS) and on an Austenitic Stainless Steel (AUSS) orthogonal machining processes. This work, then, was focused on the identification of the Johnson-Cook (JC) coefficients (A,B,C, n and m) and on the calibration of a Coulomb friction model, in the specific cases of the SAF2507 SDSS and of an AISI 316 Based AUSS Alloy (AISI 316 ASBA). The identification phases were performed considering forces and temperatures experimental data, collected in two specific experimental tasks in which different orthogonal cutting tests were carried out under different cutting parameters conditions.  相似文献

We present a control framework for achieving encirclement of a target moving in 3D using a multi-robot system. Three variations of a basic control strategy are proposed for different versions of the encirclement problem, and their effectiveness is formally established. An extension ensuring maintenance of a safe inter-robot distance is also discussed. The proposed framework is fully decentralized and only requires local communication among robots; in particular, each robot locally estimates all the relevant global quantities. We validate the proposed strategy through simulations on kinematic point robots and quadrotor UAVs, as well as experiments on differential-drive wheeled mobile robots.  相似文献

Vascular catheterization is a common procedure in clinical medicine. It is normally performed by a specialist using an X-ray fluoroscopic guide and contrast-media. In the present paper, an image-guided navigation system which indicates a path providing guidance to the desired target inside the vascular tree is described with the aim of reducing the exposure of personnel and patients to X-rays during the catheterization procedure. A 3D model of the patient vascular tree, reconstructed with data collected by an angiography before starting the intervention, is used as a guide map instead of fluoroscopic scans. An accurate spatial correspondence between the body of the patient and the 3D reconstructed vascular model is established and, by means of a position indicator installed over the catheter tip, the real-time position/orientation of the tip is indicated correctly. This paper describes the system and the operational procedures necessary to use the proposed method efficiently during a catheter intervention. Preliminary experimental results on a phantom are also reported.  相似文献

This paper addresses a visibility-based pursuit-evasion problem in which a team of mobile robots with limited sensing and communication capabilities must coordinate to detect any evaders in an unknown, multiply-connected planar environment. Our distributed algorithm to guarantee evader detection is built around maintaining complete coverage of the frontier between cleared and contaminated regions while expanding the cleared region. We detail a novel distributed method for storing and updating this frontier without building a map of the environment or requiring global localization. We demonstrate the functionality of the algorithm through simulations in realistic environments and through hardware experiments. We also compare Monte Carlo results for our algorithm to the theoretical optimum area cleared as a function of the number of robots available.  相似文献

Local trap levels in Au/n-GaAs Schottky diodes with embedded InAs quantum dots, generated after a long time of the device operation, have been investigated with low-frequency noise measurements performed in the temperature range of 77-298 K and at the forward current of 30 nA. Whereas the initial devices show a pure 1/f noise behavior, after a long time of operation, recombination noise was observed at frequencies above 100 Hz, in addition to the 1/f noise at lower frequencies. Analysis of the recombination noise data obtained on structures where different GaAs cap layer thicknesses have been removed by etching allowed us to determine the activation energy of the local traps and have a rough estimation of their spatial distribution.  相似文献

The conversion of [14C]arginine into [14C]citrulline as an indicator of nitric oxide synthesis was studied in uteri isolated from rats on different days of gestation, after labour and during dioestrus. Nitric oxide synthesis was present in uterine tissues isolated at each stage of gestation and also in tissues collected during dioestrus and after labour. Expression of neuronal nitric oxide synthase was not detectable at any of the stages studied. Endothelial nitric oxide synthase was present at all the stages studied, but there was a significant increase on day 13 of gestation and a decrease thereafter, with the lowest expression recorded on the day after labour. Inducible nitric oxide synthase expression in rat uteri increased substantially during pregnancy, with the highest expression on day 13 of gestation; expression decreased at term and after labour. The changes in expression of inducible nitric oxide synthase were coincident with the changes in nitric oxide synthase activity in uteri treated with aminoguanidine. Thus, these findings indicate that an increase in expression of inducible nitric oxide synthase in the uterus may be important for maintenance of uterine quiescence during pregnancy and its decrease near the time of labour could have an effect on the start of uterine contractility.  相似文献
