A process for deep trench filling by BenzoCycloButene (BCB) polymer is explored. Deep trenches with 100-μm depth and different aspect ratios from 1.4 to 20 have been successfully filled by BCB. Besides, chemical mechanical polishing (CMP) of BCB is studied with the main goals of smoothing surface topography of substrate after BCB filling and removing excess BCB coating which may be necessary in some applications. Removal rate for BCB, V RR, of about 0.24 μm/min has been achieved for hard cured BCB films using acid slurry. After CMP, the BCB layer showed a roughness of about 1.36 nm (Rq, measured by atomic force microscopy, AFM).  相似文献

A theoretical and experimental investigation of humidification-dehumidification desalination system is presented. The system is based on an open cycle for water and a closed cycle for the air stream. The air is circulated either by natural or forced circulation. The system modeling is based on various heat and mass balance equations and their numerical solution. The effect of operating parameters on the system characteristics has been investigated. An experimental test set-up has been fabricated and assembled. The set-up has been equipped with appropriate measuring and controlling devices. Detailed experiments have been carried out at various operating conditions and using several packing materials. The heat and mass transfer coefficients have been obtained experimentally and fitted in forms of empirical correlations.The results of the investigation have shown that the system productivity increases with the increase in the mass flow rate of water through the unit. Water temperature at condenser exit increases linearly with water temperature at humidifier inlet and it decreases as water flow rate increases. The higher water temperature at humidifier inlet or water flow rate, the higher is the air temperature and humidity ratio at condenser inlet and exit. A maximum productivity of 5.8 liter/h has been obtained using wooden slates packing and with forced air circulation. No significant improvement in the performance of the desalination unit has been achieved by forced circulation of air at high water temperatures. The average relative deviation of theoretical predictions from measurements is (− 0.9%) in the air temperature at condenser inlet, (3.8%) in the humidity ratio at condenser exit and (− 1%) in the water temperature at condenser exit.  相似文献

The preparation of ultrasmall and rigid platforms (USRPs) that are covalently coupled to macrocycle‐based, calcium‐responsive/smart contrast agents (SCAs), and the initial in vitro and in vivo validation of the resulting nanosized probes (SCA‐USRPs) by means of magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) is reported. The synthetic procedure is robust, allowing preparation of the SCA‐USRPs on a multigram scale. The resulting platforms display the desired MRI activity—i.e., longitudinal relaxivity increases almost twice at 7 T magnetic field strength upon saturation with Ca2+. Cell viability is probed with the MTT assay using HEK‐293 cells, which show good tolerance for lower contrast agent concentrations over longer periods of time. On intravenous administration of SCA‐USRPs in living mice, MRI studies indicate their rapid accumulation in the renal pelvis and parenchyma. Importantly, the MRI signal increases in both kidney compartments when CaCl2 is also administrated. Laser‐induced breakdown spectroscopy experiments confirm accumulation of SCA‐USRPs in the renal cortex. To the best of our knowledge, these are the first studies which demonstrate calcium‐sensitive MRI signal changes in vivo. Continuing contrast agent and MRI protocol optimizations should lead to wider application of these responsive probes and development of superior functional methods for monitoring calcium‐dependent physiological and pathological processes in a dynamic manner.  相似文献

A numerical study of the flow in a two-dimensional 90° circular-arc bend is presented. The study is based on the solution of the governing equations using a finite volume technique. Both laminar and turbulent flows are considered. Particular attention is given to the occurrence and size of the separation regions and, in this respect, the effects of Reynolds number and bend radius to height ratio are discussed. The study includes the effect of a guide vane, placed in the bend, on the flow characteristics. It is shown that the emerging velocity distribution is more uniform than that associated with flow in a bend without a guide vane. The presence of a guide vane is shown to suppress the formation of regions of flow separation. Comparisons are made between the effects on the flow of two different designs of guide vane.  相似文献

Summary In the present paper, the steady flow of an electrically conducting, viscous, incompressible fluid bounded by two parallel infinite insulated horizontal plates and the heat transfe through it are studied. The upper plate is given a constant velocity while the lower plate is kept stationary. The viscosity of the fluid is assumed to vary with temperature. The effect of an external uniform magnetic field as well as the action of an inflow perpendicular to the plates together with the influence of the pressure gradient on the flow and temperature distributions are reported. A numerical solution for the governing non-linear ordinary differential equations is developed.  相似文献

PURPOSE: To establish the maximum-tolerated dose (MTD) and define the toxicities of a single-dose infusion of PNU-214565, a recombinant Escherichia coli-derived fusion protein of Staphylococcal enterotoxin A (SEA) and the Fab-fragment of the C242 monoclonal antibody in patients with advanced colorectal and pancreatic carcinomas. To investigate the capability of PNU-214565 to induce a superantigen (SAg) response resulting in cytokine production and tumor regression. PATIENTS AND METHODS: Twenty-one patients (age range, 39 to 76 years; median, 64; 12 men, nine women; 18 colorectal, three pancreatic cancers) were treated with a single 3-hour infusion of PNU-214565, with doses ranging from 0.01 to 1.5 ng/kg. All patients had prior chemotherapy and a good performance status Eastern Cooperative Oncology Group [ECOG] performance status [PS] = 0 [n = 10]; PS = 1 [n = 11]), 10 had prior radiation, and 18 had prior surgery. RESULTS: Fever and hypotension were the most common toxicities. Fever of any grade occurred in 16 of 21 patients (76%): four of 21 (19%) with grade 2 and two of 21 (9.5%) with grade 3. Hypotension of any grade occurred in 13 of 21 (62%): four of 21 with grade 2 and one of 21 (5%) with grade 3. Interleukin-2 (IL-2) and tumor necrosis factor alpha (TNF alpha) induction correlated with toxicity. In the two patients with grade 3 fever, peak IL-2 and TNF alpha levels were 2.9 IU/mL and 165 pg/mL, and 8.3 IU/mL and 245 pg/mL, respectively. Transient, > or = 50% decreases in circulating monocytes were observed in 17 of 21 patients as early as 0.5 hours (median time, 2 hours) from the start of infusion. Decreases (mean 33%) in circulating lymphocytes were observed in seven of 21 patients. All three patients with grade 3 toxicity were treated at the 0.5-ng/kg dose. The significance of baseline anti-SEA, human antimouse antibody (HAMA), CA242-soluble antigen levels, and T-cell receptor variable beta region (TCR V beta) subsets and histocompatibility leukocyte antigen-DR (HLA-DR) genotypes was assessed as possible predictors of toxicity. All toxicities were transient and easily managed. No grade 3 toxicity occurred at the higher dose levels. CONCLUSION: PNU-214565, a SAg-based tumor targeted therapy, is safe when given as a single 3-hour infusion at doses up to 1.5 ng/kg. The MTD for a single dose was not determined. The safety of a repeated dose schedule is currently under investigation, beginning with doses determined to be safe in this trial.  相似文献

The best method for the diagnosis of osteoporosis and assessment of fracture risk is currently considered to be bone densitometry. The most commonly used dual-energy X-ray absorptiometry (DXA) methods may sometimes not predict bone mass accurately in every skeletal site, are expensive and not widely available. The recent development of computed analysis of a plain radiograph of the hand might provide a practical, inexpensive and rapid method for evaluation of bone mineral status. In this study we evaluated 20 healthy premenopausal and 660 postmenopausal women. In 36 of these subjects a second evaluation was carried out after 2 years of therapy with calcium supplements. The internal and external diameters of the second metacarpal and the metacarpal and ultradistal radial bone density were evaluated using a technical device developed in our laboratory and marketed by NIM, Verona, Italy (Osteoradiometer). The radiographic images, captured by a video camera, were digitized and studied by computed analysis. In 150 subjects bone density at the level of the lumbar spine, femur, and ultradistal and proximal radius was also measured by DXA techniques. Both external (D) and internal (d) diameters increase significantly with age and years since menopause (YSM), whereas metacarpal index (D--d/D) and metacarpal and ultradistal radial bone density decrease significantly with age and YSM. The ratio between metacarpal bone mineral content and the cortical area (volumetric metacarpal bone density) did not change with age. Significant correlations were found between radiometric findings and DXA measurements. The best correlation coefficients were between bone density measured at the level of the ultradistal radius by DXA and radiographic absorptiometry. In the 2-year follow-up study, a 4.9% and 6.2% decline in radial metacarpal bone density respectively were observed, but the difference was statistically significant only for the latter. In conclusion, computed radiogrammetry is closely correlated with all DXA measurements and may be useful in screening of large populations, providing a simple, inexpensive and sufficiently precise method for evaluation of bone mineral status. Further studies are warranted for assessing the accuracy of radiogrammetry for longitudinal investigations and its capacity to predict fracture risk.  相似文献
