Multi-walled carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs) based microporous layer on the non-woven carbon paper substrates was prepared by in situ growth in a chemical vapor deposition method. Pt with a loading of ~0.13 mg cm?2 was electrodeposited at ?0.3, ?0.6, ?1.2, ?2.4, and ?3.6 V vs SCE in a chloroplatinic acid (60 g/L) and hydrochloric acid (10 g/L) bath using a potentiostat. Scanning electron micrographs showed that the Pt nanoparticles decorated on the MWCNTs/carbon paper are highly uniform, especially at an electrodeposition voltage of ?0.6 V vs SCE. Pt particles' size at various deposition potentials, as estimated by X-ray diffraction analysis is in nanosize range with an average diameter of 6 nm. Fuel cell performance of the Pt deposited in situ grown MWCNTs carbon paper was evaluated using Nafion-212 membrane at various operating conditions. The cathode with Pt deposition at ?0.6 V showed a power density of ~640 mW cm?2 at 80 °C using H2 and O2 at 90% RH and 101 kPa.  相似文献

A detailed experimental and simulation study of the extraction of a 24 keV He(+) beam from an ECR ion source and the subsequent beam transport through an analyzing magnet is presented. We find that such a slow ion beam is very sensitive to space-charge forces, but also that the neutralization of the beam's space charge by secondary electrons is virtually complete for beam currents up to at least 0.5 mA. The beam emittance directly behind the extraction system is 65 π mm mrad and is determined by the fact that the ion beam is extracted in the strong magnetic fringe field of the ion source. The relatively large emittance of the beam and its non-paraxiality lead, in combination with a relatively small magnet gap, to significant beam losses and a five-fold increase of the effective beam emittance during its transport through the analyzing magnet. The calculated beam profile and phase-space distributions in the image plane of the analyzing magnet agree well with measurements. The kinematic and magnet aberrations have been studied using the calculated second-order transfer map of the analyzing magnet, with which we can reproduce the phase-space distributions of the ion beam behind the analyzing magnet. Using the transfer map and trajectory calculations we have worked out an aberration compensation scheme based on the addition of compensating hexapole components to the main dipole field by modifying the shape of the poles. The simulations predict that by compensating the kinematic and geometric aberrations in this way and enlarging the pole gap the overall beam transport efficiency can be increased from 16% to 45%.  相似文献

DNA nanostructures have emerged as intriguing tools for numerous biomedical applications. However, in many of those applications and most notably in drug delivery, their stability and function may be compromised by the biological media. A particularly important issue for medical applications is their interaction with proteins such as endonucleases, which may degrade the well-defined nanoscale shapes. Herein, fundamental insights into this interaction are provided by monitoring DNase I digestion of four structurally distinct DNA origami nanostructures (DONs) in real time and at a single-structure level by using high-speed atomic force microscopy. The effect of the solid–liquid interface on DON digestion is also assessed by comparison with experiments in bulk solution. It is shown that DON digestion is strongly dependent on its superstructure and flexibility and on the local topology of the individual structure.  相似文献

New and effective aldimine types of corrosion inhibitors namely, N-methylidene octylamine (MOA), N-ethylidene octylamine (EOA) and N-propylidene octylamine (POA) have been synthesized. Their inhibition efficiency was investigated for the corrosion of mild steel in 1 M HCl solution by various corrosion monitoring techniques. A preliminary screening of the inhibition efficiency of the inhibitors was carried out by weight loss and gasometric studies. They were found to behave as good inhibitors in 1 M HCl solution. Potentiodynamic polarization measurements show that aldimines are mixed type inhibitors. The extent of the decrease in the hydrogen permeation current through the mild steel surface was studied by the hydrogen permeation technique and it was found that the decrease was in the order POA > EOA > MOA. Double layer capacitance and charge transfer resistance values were derived from Nyquist plots obtained from AC impedance studies. The adsorption of these compounds on mild steel from 1 M HCl solution obeys the Temkin adsorption isotherm.  相似文献

ABSTRACT

In this paper, polyether imide (PEI) having properties such as a high glass transition temperature of 216°C, high heat resistance, high flame resistance, low smoke generation and a high melting point within the range of 400°C, having low thermal conductivity and low dielectric constant was chosen to be a polymeric foam. Water vapor-induced phase separation method was used to prepare PEI foams. PEI foams were reinforced with nano-silica (weight 1, 3 and 5%) in order to alter the dielectric properties, thermal conductivity and degradation kinetics of foamed polymer. The tested samples showed a reduction in dielectric constant than that of solid PEI but at a higher loading, it showed a higher value due to threshold percolation and a reduction in thermal conductivity was observed for foamed PEI. From thermogravimetric analysis, we can conclude that PEI with 3% filler loading showed better thermal stability compared to other PEI foam compositions.  相似文献

This paper deals with the optimal designing of a skip-lot sampling plan of type SkSP-V by considering the double-sampling plan as the reference plan. The design parameters are determined so as to minimize the average sample number while the specified producer’s risk and the consumer’s risks are satisfied. The tables are constructed by considering the various combinations of acceptable and limiting quality levels, and an example is given for illustration purpose. The advantages of the proposed plan over the conventional double-sampling plan are also discussed.  相似文献

Clubroot caused by Plasmodiophora brassicae is a severe disease of cruciferous crops that decreases crop quality and productivity. Several clubroot resistance-related quantitative trait loci and candidate genes have been identified. However, the underlying regulatory mechanism, the interrelationships among genes, and how genes are regulated remain unexplored. MicroRNAs (miRNAs) are attracting attention as regulators of gene expression, including during biotic stress responses. The main objective of this study was to understand how miRNAs regulate clubroot resistance-related genes in P. brassicae-infected Brassica rapa. Two Brassica miRNAs, Bra-miR1885a and Bra-miR1885b, were revealed to target TIR-NBS genes. In non-infected plants, both miRNAs were expressed at low levels to maintain the balance between plant development and basal immunity. However, their expression levels increased in P. brassicae-infected plants. Both miRNAs down-regulated the expression of the TIR-NBS genes Bra019412 and Bra019410, which are located at a clubroot resistance-related quantitative trait locus. The Bra-miR1885-mediated down-regulation of both genes was detected for up to 15 days post-inoculation in the clubroot-resistant line CR Shinki and in the clubroot-susceptible line 94SK. A qRT-PCR analysis revealed Bra019412 expression was negatively regulated by miR1885. Both Bra019412 and Bra019410 were more highly expressed in CR Shinki than in 94SK; the same expression pattern was detected in multiple clubroot-resistant and clubroot-susceptible inbred lines. A 5′ rapid amplification of cDNA ends analysis confirmed the cleavage of Bra019412 by Bra-miR1885b. Thus, miR1885s potentially regulate TIR-NBS gene expression during P. brassicae infections of B. rapa.  相似文献

In this article, we propose a sampling plan called a multiple deferred state sampling plan for sentencing a lot based on the information of current and successive lot samples. Based on this sampling plan, the median life of the product is assured based on a time-truncated life test where the lifetime of the product follows the generalized inverted exponential distribution. The quality of the product is measured by its median life. The optimal parameters of the proposed plan are obtained by using the approach of two points on the operating characteristic curve. Tables are also constructed for determining the optimal parameters with various shape parameters. The implementation of the proposed plan is illustrated with examples. The performance of the proposed plan is compared with the performance of existing sampling plans under the generalized inverted exponential distribution.  相似文献

A sustainable alternative to some synthetic dyes and dyeing auxiliaries could be substitution by their corresponding natural counterparts. This is in response to a growing premium market for goods with the natural tag brought about by the increasing consumer awareness about conserving and preserving the environment. Currently, natural dyes are used only by hobbyists and craftsmen in a small scale of operation. The present market trend prompts investigations into all aspects of large-scale application of natural dyes. This may encompass the social, economic and technical aspects. A critical technical consideration is the means of increasing colour yield during dyeing. In achieving this, the use of by-products or consequent acquisition of functionality will be an added benefit. In this study, chitosan, a bio-polysaccharide derived from the exoskeleton of crustaceans, has been investigated for enhancing dye uptake while imparting antimicrobial attribute to cotton fabric. Pad-dyeing of natural dyes, from the Acacia family, in the presence of a controlled amount of chitosan resulted in darker shades by approximately 20% as compared to without chitosan. Key performance parameters such as fastness of dyed fabric to washing, rubbing and light were evaluated and found to be satisfactory. In addition, chitosan imparted excellent antibacterial properties to the cotton fabric.  相似文献
