In the present work, medium density fiberboard (MDF) panels were produced using multiwalled carbon nanotubes (MWCNT) reinforced urea formaldehyde resin. Response surface methodology was employed to optimize the relationship between the three variables, viz. pressing time, percentage of UF resin and percentage of MWCNT, used in the fabrication of MDF, and the influence of variables on the internal bonding (IB) and modulus of rupture (MOR) was studied. The optimum conditions based on the IB strength were determined as 8.18 % of UF resin, pressing time of 232 s, and MWCNT of 3.5 %. Similarly, the optimized conditions for MOR are also reported in this paper.  相似文献

Calcination of diatomite is an expensive process frequently resulting in products with unpredictable structure. Alternatively, calcination in swirling flow is an energy‐saving option. Computational fluid dynamics modeling of an experimental calcination process unit is presented. Experimental results and systematic collection of process data were used to define boundary condition for steady‐state and transient simulation runs. The comparison of experimental and simulation results shows the complexity of the calcination process. The results can be used for further process optimization.  相似文献

Thermoluminescence (TL) dating was applied for artefacts found near the small village of Michelstetten, Lower Austria. Settlements in this region can be traced hack a long time and, according to archaeologists, the discovered artefacts may be as old as 6000 years. A modified sample preparation technique based on the fine-grain method was developed. This technique results in a higher reproducibility and reduces the overall preparation time. For some artefacts the new information of the TL dating leads to an unforeseen re-interpretation of the archaeological age. Furthermore, an iron furnace from the period of the Roman Empire could be dated. For the first time, it was possible to estimate correctly the point of time of the burn-down of an ancient wooden house via an analysis of the house's clay plaster. The fire took place in the sixth century; this was confirmed by dating ceramic artefacts.  相似文献

Fluid models of queuing networks are among the simplest models to analyze, owing to the fact that calculus can be applied. At the same time, wider classes of network models are more flexible for modeling real traffic. It is thus useful to reduce questions about the more realistic models to questions about related fluid models. Such a reduction was achieved by J.G. Dai (1995), who showed that stability of a fluid model implies stability (in the sense of Harris recurrence) of related multiclass networks with random service and interarrival processes of renewal type. The purpose of this paper is to similarly reduce the question of stability for networks with input traffic satisfying deterministic constraints in the sense of R.I. Cruz (1991) to a question of stability for a fluid model. It is shown that the stability of networks with fluid traffic implies stability of networks with deterministically constrained traffic  相似文献

Functional and structural changes in 10 DSM-III-R male schizophrenics and 10 healthy volunteers were investigated using magnetoencephalographically (MEG) detected long-latency (N100 m) auditory evoked fields (AEFs) and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). The AEFs were characterized by single moving equivalent dipoles, which were superimposed on MRIs. There were significant differences in dipole orientations and in AEF latencies in the left hemisphere of schizophrenics, when compared to the controls. The MEG-detected alterations were found to be associated with a bilateral volume reduction of the posterior superior temporal gyrus (pSTG), which was more pronounced in the left hemisphere. Separate analysis of white and gray matter has shown that the pSTG volume reduction resulted from decreased gray matter volumes without white matter changes. Both the functional and the morphological data indicate a left-hemispheric disturbance in our patients.  相似文献

This paper focuses on jammed timing channels. Pure delay jammers with a maximum delay constraint, an average delay constraint, or a maximum buffer size constraint are explored, for continuous-time or discrete-time packet waveforms. Fluid waveform approximations of each of these classes of waveforms are employed to aid in analysis. Channel capacity is defined and an information-theoretic game based on mutual information rate is studied. Min-max optimal jammers and max-min optimal input processes are sought. Bounds on the min-max and max-min mutual information rates are described, and numerical examples are given. For maximum-delay-constrained (MDC) jammers with continuous-time packet waveforms, saddle-point input and jammer strategies are identified. The capacity of the maximum-delay constrained jamming channel with continuous-time packet waveforms is shown to equal the mutual information rate of the saddle point. For MDC jammers with discrete-time packet waveforms, saddle-point strategies are shown to exist. Jammers which have quantized batch departures at regular intervals are shown to perform well. Input processes with batches at regular intervals perform well for MDC or maximum-buffer-size-constrained jammers.  相似文献

The National Aeronautics and Space Administration's (NASA's) Ames Research Center's Airborne Sensor Facility (ASF) is responsible for the calibration of several airborne Earth-viewing sensor systems in support of NASA Earth Observing System (EOS) investigations. The primary artifact used to calibrate these sensors in the reflective solar region from 400 to 2500 nm is a lamp-illuminated integrating sphere source. In September 1999, a measurement comparison was made at the Ames ASF Sensor Calibration Facility to validate the radiometric scale, establish the uncertainties assigned to the radiance of this source, and examine its day-to-day repeatability. The comparison was one of a series of validation activities overseen by the EOS Calibration Program to ensure the radiometric calibration accuracy of sensors used in long-term, global, remote-sensing studies. Results of the comparison, including an evaluation of the Ames Sensor Calibration Laboratory (SCL) measurement procedures and assigned radiometric uncertainties, provide a validation of their radiometric scale at the time of the comparison. Additionally, the maintenance of the radiance scale was evaluated by use of independent, long-term, multiyear radiance validation measurements of the Ames sphere source. This series of measurements provided an independent assessment of the radiance values assigned to integrating sphere sources by the Ames SCF. Together, the measurements validate the SCF radiometric scale and assigned uncertainties over the time period from September 1999 through July 2003.  相似文献
