In this paper we propose a method based on (2, 1)-mixed-norm penalization for incorporating a structural prior in FDOT image reconstruction. The effect of (2, 1)-mixed-norm penalization is twofold: first, a sparsifying effect which isolates few anatomical regions where the fluorescent probe has accumulated, and second, a regularization effect inside the selected anatomical regions. After formulating the reconstruction in a variational framework, we analyze the resulting optimization problem and derive a practical numerical method tailored to (2, 1)-mixed-norm regularization. The proposed method includes as particular cases other sparsity promoting regularization methods such as l(1)-norm penalization and total variation penalization. Results on synthetic and experimental data are presented.  相似文献

European eel (Anguilla anguilla) populations are in decline. Glass eel recruitment has fallen 10-fold since the early 1980s. Estuaries play a fundamental role in the life history of eels because glass eels must pass through them to reach freshwater ecosystems. Unfortunately, because of their geographical position at the upstream basin slopes, estuaries accumulate metals like cadmium and are important sites of hypoxia events. In this context, we studied the effect of the oxygen level on the ventilation of the glass eel. In parallel, glass eels were submitted to different dissolved cadmium concentrations (0, 2, and 10 microg L(-1)) under two oxygen levels (normoxia PO2 = 21 kPa and Hypoxia PO2 = 6 kPa). The expression level of various genes involved in the mitochondrial respiratory chain, in the cellular response to metal and oxidative stresses, was investigated. Our results showed that hypoxia enhances (1) ventilation of the postlarval stage and (2) Cd accumulation in gills only at the lowest metal water concentration tested (2 microg Cd L(-1)). At the gene level, Cd exposure mimics the effect of hypoxia since we observed a decrease in expression of genes involved in the respiratory chain and in the defense against oxidative stress.  相似文献

The corrosion mechanisms by liquid aluminum of three industrial materials have been studied: unalloyed steel (UAS), and ferritic and modified pearlitic cast irons (FCI and PCI, respectively). The behavior of these materials when in contact with liquid aluminum is different. Aluminum diffuses deep into the UAS and forms intermetallic compounds with iron at the surface and in the steel matrix. At the surface, only Fe2Al5 and FeAl3 are found. In the matrix, FeAl2 also is formed in agreement with the equilibrium Fe-Al diagram. From the matrix to FeAl2, the Al content in the ferrite increases progressively until Al saturation is reached. At this step, black elongated precipitates (Al4C3 and/or graphite) appear. Graphite lamellas present in both FCI and PCI constitute an efficient barrier to the Al diffusion. The high silicon content of the FCI leads to the formation of a phase free from Al and saturated in Si. For the PCI, a thin layer rich in Al and Si, which is formed between the matrix and Fe2Al5, limits the diffusion of atoms. The effects of Cr and P added in the PCI also are discussed.  相似文献

The so-called General Adaptive Neighborhood Image Processing (GANIP) approach is presented in a two parts paper dealing respectively with its theoretical and practical aspects. The General Adaptive Neighborhood (GAN) paradigm, theoretically introduced in Part I [20], allows the building of new image processing transformations using context-dependent analysis. With the help of a specified analyzing criterion, such transformations perform a more significant spatial analysis, taking intrinsically into account the local radiometric, morphological or geometrical characteristics of the image. Moreover they are consistent with the physical and/or physiological settings of the image to be processed, using general linear image processing frameworks. In this paper, the GANIP approach is more particularly studied in the context of Mathematical Morphology (MM). The structuring elements, required for MM, are substituted by GAN-based structuring elements, fitting to the local contextual details of the studied image. The resulting morphological operators perform a really spatially-adaptive image processing and notably, in several important and practical cases, are connected, which is a great advantage compared to the usual ones that fail to this property.  相似文献

Response surface methodology is an efficient method for approximating the output of complex, computationally expensive codes. Challenges remain however in decreasing their construction cost as well as in approximating high dimensional output instead of scalar values. We propose a novel approach addressing both these challenges simultaneously for cases where the expensive code solves partial differential equations involving the resolution of a large system of equations, such as by finite element. Our method is based on the combination of response surface methodology and reduced order modeling by projection, also known as reduced basis modeling. The novel idea is to carry out the full resolution of the system only at a small, appropriately chosen, number of points. At the other points only the inexpensive reduced basis solution is computed while controlling the quality of the approximation being sought. A first application of the proposed surrogate modeling approach is presented for the problem of identification of orthotropic elastic constants from full field displacement measurements based on a tensile test on a plate with a hole. A surrogate of the entire displacement field was constructed using the proposed method. A second application involves the construction of a surrogate for the temperature field in a rocket engine combustion chamber wall. Compared to traditional response surface methodology a reduction by about an order of magnitude in the total system resolution time was achieved using the proposed sequential surrogate construction strategy.  相似文献

Polymer ferroelectric-gate field effect transistors (Fe-FETs) employing ferroelectric polymer thin films as gate insulators are highly attractive as a next-generation non-volatile memory. For minimizing gate leakage current of a device which arises from electrically defective ferroelectric polymer layer in particular at low operation voltage, the materials design of interlayers between the ferroelectric insulator and gate electrode is essential. Here, we introduce a new solution-processed interlayer of conductive reduced graphene oxides (rGOs) modified with a conjugated block copolymer, poly(styrene-block-paraphenylene) (PS-b-PPP). A FeFET with a solution-processed p-type oligomeric semiconducting channel and ferroelectric poly(vinylidene fluoride-co-trifluoroethylene) (PVDF-TrFE) insulator exhibited characteristic source–drain current hysteresis arising from ferroelectric polarization switching of a PVDF-TrFE insulator. Our PS-b-PPP modified rGOs (PMrGOs) with conductive moieties embedded in insulating polymer matrix not only significantly reduced the gate leakage current but also efficiently lowered operation voltage of the device. In consequence, the device showed large memory gate voltage window and high ON/OFF source–drain current ratio with excellent data retention and read/write cycle endurance. Furthermore, our PMrGOs interlayers were successfully employed to FeFETs fabricated on mechanically flexible substrates with promising non-volatile memory performance under repetitive bending deformation.  相似文献

The increase of proinflammatory cytokines in vaginal secretions may serve as a surrogate marker of unwanted inflammatory reaction to microbicide products topically applied for the prevention of sexually transmitted diseases, including HIV-1. Interleukin (IL)-1beta and IL-6 have been proposed as indicators of inflammation and increased risk of HIV-1 transmission; however, the lack of information regarding detection platforms optimal for vaginal fluids and interlaboratory variation limit their use for microbicide evaluation and other clinical applications. This study examines fluid matrix variants relevant to vaginal sampling techniques and proposes a model for interlaboratory comparisons across current cytokine detection technologies. IL-1beta and IL-6 standards were measured by 12 laboratories in four countries, using 14 immunoassays and four detection platforms based on absorbance, chemiluminescence, electrochemiluminescence, and fluorescence. International reference preparations of cytokines with defined biological activity were spiked into (1) a defined medium simulating the composition of human vaginal fluid at pH 4.5 and 7.2, (2) physiologic salt solutions (phosphate-buffered saline and saline) commonly used for vaginal lavage sampling in clinical studies of cytokines, and (3) human blood serum. Assays were assessed for reproducibility, linearity, accuracy, and significantly detectable fold difference in cytokine level. Factors with significant impact on cytokine recovery were determined by Kruskal-Wallis analysis of variance with Dunn's multiple comparison test and multiple regression models. All assays showed acceptable intra-assay reproducibility; however, most were associated with significant interlaboratory variation. The smallest reliably detectable cytokine differences ( P < 0.05) derived from pooled interlaboratory data varied from 1.5- to 26-fold depending on assay, cytokine, and matrix type. IL-6 but not IL-1beta determinations were lower in both saline and phosphate-buffered saline as compared to vaginal fluid matrix, with no significant effect of pH. The (electro)chemiluminescence-based assays were most discriminative and consistently detected <2-fold differences within each matrix type. The Luminex-based assays were less discriminative with lower reproducibility between laboratories. These results suggest the need for uniform vaginal sampling techniques and a better understanding of immunoassay platform differences and cross-validation before the biological significance of cytokine variations can be validated in clinical trials. This investigation provides the first standardized analytic approach for assessing differences in mucosal cytokine levels and may improve strategies for monitoring immune responses at the vaginal mucosal interface.  相似文献
