The nervous system function of patients with periodontitis

Analysis of the function of the nervous system, based on clinical, neurological, and psychological studies in 78 patients with generalized periodontitis, revealed central regulation disorders without signs of organic lesions of the brain in 76% patients. The authors claim that stress and a high level of personal anxiety may be responsible for the development of these disorders, which was confirmed by the results of psychological testing.     

Evaluation of the effectiveness of continuous renal replacement therapy in critical patients after cardiovascular surgery

The efficacy of continuous methods of renal substitute therapy (RST) in patients with multiple organ failure is assessed. The patients were divided in 2 groups administered different types of PST. Group 1 were 16 patients subjected to RST by peritoneal dialysis, in group 2 (n = 16) GP and/or GDP were used. Hemodynamics, hematological and biochemical values, and clearance of inflammation mediators were monitored and hemohydrobalance and complications of therapy assessed in the course of RST. Both RST methods proved to be highly effective. The possibility of differentiated use of peritoneal dialysis and GP/GDP permits an individual approach to treatment, and equally high efficacy of both methods solves the problem of treating total renal insufficiency in the majority of patients with multiple organ failure following cardiovascular surgery.     

Modeling of Filtration Combustion of Carbon

The kinetics of the overall reactions of carbon gasification at temperatures up to 1600 K is studied. The kinetic characteristics of the reactions are taken into account in a distributed mathematical model of filtration combustion of carbon. By computational experiment at different values of process control parameters (the gas flow rate, the fraction of the oxidant in the gas, and the mass ratio of carbon to the inert material in the combustible mixture), it is found that, in the wave of filtration combustion of carbon under superadiabatic conditions, carbon gasification can predominately yield either CO₂ or CO.

Dot Size Thermal Objects Detection in Atmosphere of Infrared Range

The article deals with the experimental studies of atmosphere indistinct radiation structure. The information extraction background of dot size thermal object presence in atmosphere is reasonable. Indistinct generalization of experimental study regularities technique of space-time irregularity radiation structure in infrared wave range is offered. The approach to dot size thermal object detection in atmosphere is proved with a help of threshold method in the thermodynamic and turbulent process conditions, based on the indistinct statement return task solution.     

Cracking of heavy vacuum gas oils over (HCeY) zeolite-containing,aluminum-pillared montmorillonite and activated kaolinite clays

Zeolite-containing HCeY catalysts on aluminum-pillared montmorillonites and activated kaolinites with a mesoporous structure have been tested in the cracking of heavy vacuum gas oils. The activities of the zeolite-containing and zeolite-free catalysts have been compared. The highest yields of gasoline and light cycle oil have been obtained on the Al(5.0)NaHMM + HCeY catalyst and the zeolite-free AlHKE kaolinite contact, respectively.     

Electron-microscopic examination of the transition zone of aluminum-tantalum bimetallic joints (explosion welding)

A study of the structure of an aluminum-tantalum joint and a comparison of this structure with the structures of iron-silver and copper-tantalum joints have revealed the following processes of the interpenetration of the materials that occur during explosion welding: the formation of protrusions, the injection of particles of one material into the other, and the formation of zones of local melting. Regardless of the mutual solubility of the metals being welded, two types of fragmentation occur, i.e., (1) a granulating fragmentation (GF), which includes the formation, explosion-governed (EG) dispersion, and partial consolidation of particles, and (2) the fragmentation that is usually observed during severe plastic deformation. It is important that this traditional fragmentation is not accompanied by the formation and EG dispersion of particles. This feature allows one to easily distinguish these types of fragmentation (traditional and GF fragmentation).
