Brain-computer interfaces (BCIs) records brain activity using electroencephalogram (EEG) headsets in the form of EEG signals; these signals can be recorded, processed and classified into different hand movements, which can be used to control other IoT devices. Classification of hand movements will be one step closer to applying these algorithms in real-life situations using EEG headsets. This paper uses different feature extraction techniques and sophisticated machine learning algorithms to classify hand movements from EEG brain signals to control prosthetic hands for amputated persons. To achieve good classification accuracy, denoising and feature extraction of EEG signals is a significant step. We saw a considerable increase in all the machine learning models when the moving average filter was applied to the raw EEG data. Feature extraction techniques like a fast fourier transform (FFT) and continuous wave transform (CWT) were used in this study; three types of features were extracted, i.e., FFT Features, CWT Coefficients and CWT scalogram images. We trained and compared different machine learning (ML) models like logistic regression, random forest, k-nearest neighbors (KNN), light gradient boosting machine (GBM) and XG boost on FFT and CWT features and deep learning (DL) models like VGG-16, DenseNet201 and ResNet50 trained on CWT scalogram images. XG Boost with FFT features gave the maximum accuracy of 88%.  相似文献

In this paper, a novel text clustering method, improved krill herd algorithm with a hybrid function, called MMKHA, is proposed as an efficient clustering way to obtain promising and precise results in this domain. Krill herd is a new swarm-based optimization algorithm that imitates the behavior of a group of live krill. The potential of this algorithm is high because it performs better than other optimization methods; it balances the process of exploration and exploitation by complementing the strength of local nearby searching and global wide-range searching. Text clustering is the process of grouping significant amounts of text documents into coherent clusters in which documents in the same cluster are relevant. For the purpose of the experiments, six versions are thoroughly investigated to determine the best version for solving the text clustering. Eight benchmark text datasets are used for the evaluation process available at the Laboratory of Computational Intelligence (LABIC). Seven evaluation measures are utilized to validate the proposed algorithms, namely, ASDC, accuracy, precision, recall, F-measure, purity, and entropy. The proposed algorithms are compared with the other successful algorithms published in the literature. The results proved that the proposed improved krill herd algorithm with hybrid function achieved almost all the best results for all datasets in comparison with the other comparative algorithms.  相似文献

In this paper, we introduce a new numerical technique which we call fractional Chebyshev finite difference method. The algorithm is based on a combination of the useful properties of Chebyshev polynomial approximation and finite difference method. We implement this technique to solve numerically the non-linear programming problem which are governed by fractional differential equations (FDEs). The proposed technique is based on using matrix operator expressions which applies to the differential terms. The operational matrix method is derived in our approach in order to approximate the Caputo fractional derivatives. This operational matrix method can be regarded as a non-uniform finite difference scheme. The error bound for the fractional derivatives is introduced. The application of the method to the generated FDEs leads to algebraic systems which can be solved by an appropriate method. Two numerical examples are provided to confirm the accuracy and the effectiveness of the proposed method. A comparison with the fourth-order Runge–Kutta method is given.  相似文献

In this paper we introduce new algorithm implementations of a new parametric image processing framework that will accurately process images and speed up computation for addition, subtraction, and multiplication. Its potential applications include computer graphics, digital signal processing and other multimedia applications. This Parameterized Digital Electronic Arithmetic (PDEA) model replaces linear operations with non-linear ones. The implementation of a parameterized model is presented. We also present the design of arithmetic circuits including parallel counters, adders and multipliers based in two high performance threshold logic gate implementations that we have developed. We will also explore new microprocessor architectures to take advantage of arithmetic. The experiments executed have shown that the algorithm provides faster and better enhancements from those described in the literature. The FPGA chips used is Spartan 3E from Xilinix. The critical length in the circuit implemented on the FPGA had the minimum period for the proposed subsystem is 10.209 ns (maximum frequency 97.957 MHz). Maximum power consumed is 2.4 mW using 32 nm process and we used parallelism and reuse of the Hardware components to accomplish and speed up the process.  相似文献

The adsorption of two basic dyes in aqueous solutions onto lignite is reported. The adsorption equilibrium isotherms are recorded for the dyes in single component solution. Although appraisal theories have received strong empirical support, there are methodological concerns about the research, including biased recall, heuristic responding, ethical issues, and weak and unrealistic induction of emotions in laboratories. To provide a more ecologically valid test of appraisal theories, the authors used ecological momentary assessment, in which the emotions and appraisals of Singaporean police officers were measured online over the course of an ordinary workday. The research focused on happiness. Support was obtained for predictions, demonstrating the generalizability of appraisal theories to a nonlaboratory setting and circumventing the shortcomings of previously used methodologies. Also, evidence was obtained that happiness was reported primarily in association with a specific combination of 3 relevant appraisals: high pleasantness, high perceived control, and low moral violation. A constant density function random number generator was used to predict numerically the effective thermal conductivity of heterogeneous mixtures. The method is an extension of a digital simulation technique originally proposed by Baxley and Couper for suspensions and emulsions. However, the present model has been extended to include the effect of contact areas between particles, the effect of reduced pressure, and radiation heat transfer. The model is applicable to granular materials and powders over a wide range of pressures and temperatures. The model is compared to experimental data for granular materials at pressures ranging from atmospheric to simulated lunar environment (10?8 + torr). The model is also compared with models for granular materials at atmospheric pressures existing in the literature. A distinct improvement in the accuracy of calculated results is shown for the proposed model over existing models.  相似文献

The authors report a series of 40 cases of genitourinary tuberculosis diagnosed and treated in the department of urology "B" of Avicenne hospital over a 7-year period. The objective of this study is to define the various diagnostic and therapeutic aspects of this disease. The patients were predominantly males (62.5%) with a mean age of 40 years. 25% of cases reported a history of extra-urinary tuberculosis. The very polymorphous clinical presentation is dominated by signs of cystitis (45%). Intravenous urography is frequently suggestive of the diagnosis based on the appearance and multiplicity of the lesions. The radiological lesions most frequently encountered were silent kidney (19 cases) and small tuberculous bladder (11 cases). The definitive diagnosis was established by pathological examination in 38 cases (biopsies, operative specimens, prostatic resection chips) and/or by demonstration of AFB in 2 cases (urine, pus). Tuberculostatic treatment was administered to all patients, either alone (5 cases) or, more usually, in combination with surgical and/or endo-urological treatment (35 cases), reflecting the magnitude and severity of the destructive and scar lesions.  相似文献
