Flexible protocol for quantum private query based on B92 protocol

Jakobi et al. for the first time proposed a novel and practical quantum private query (QPQ) protocol based on SARG04 (Scarani et al. in Phys Rev Lett 92:057901, 2004) quantum key distribution protocol (Jakobi et al. in Phys Rev A 83:022301, 2011). Gao et al. generalized Jakobi et al’s protocol and proposed a flexible QPQ protocol (Gao et al. in Opt Exp 20(16):17411–17420, 2012). When $\theta <\pi /4$ , Gao et al’s protocol exhibits better database security than Jakobi et al’s protocol, but has a higher probability with which Bob can correctly guess the address of Alice’s query. In this paper, we propose a flexible B92-based QPQ protocol. Although SARG04 protocol is a modification of B92 protocol and can be seen as a generalization of B92 protocol, our protocol shows different advantages from Gao et al’s protocol. It can simultaneously obtain better database security and a lower probability with which Bob can correctly guess the address of Alice’s query when $\theta <\pi /4$ . By introducing entanglement, the proposed QPQ protocol is robust against channel-loss attack, which also implies lower classical communication complexity. Similar to Gao et al’s protocol, it is flexible, practical, and robust against quantum memory attack.     

Neutronics physics analysis of a large fluoride-salt-cooled solid-fuel fast reactor with Th-based fuel

A synchrotron radiation source called TURKAY is proposed as a sub-project of the Turkish Accelerator Center Project. The storage ring of TURKAY is a low emittance synchrotron and the radiation ranges between 0.01 and 60 keV can be generated from the insertion devices and bending magnets placed on it. The injector system of the facility will mainly consist of a 150 MeV linac and full energy booster. In this study, we present design considerations and beam dynamics studies of the pre-injector linac and booster ring for TURKAY.     

基于概率测度支持向量机的静态手写数字识别方法

提出了基于概率测度的支持向量机算法,它采用概率分布作为均值嵌入构造再生希尔伯特空间,为了能够直接采用任何标准的基于核的学习技术,又构造了支持向量机的一般形式,称为基于概率测度的支持向量机(PMSVM).通过在MNIST数据库构建的虚拟样本进行实验,证明了该算法在识别率和时间消耗上更为有效.

PROSE: Proactive, Selective CDN Participation for P2P Streaming

Many production peer-to-peer (P2P) streaming systems use content delivery networks (CDN) to protect the user’s quality of experiences. Thus, how to efficiently utilize the capacity of CDN (e.g., which peers receive services from the CDN nodes) is a problem of practical significance. Existing solutions adopt a passive, on-demand approach, which is inefficient in utilizing CDN resources. In this paper, we propose PROSE, a simple, novel scheme to achieve proactive, selective CDN participation for P2P streaming. PROSE introduces novel concepts such as choke point expansion nodes/super nodes and leads to efficient, light-weighted, and distributed algorithms to identify and serve these nodes using CDN. Our experimental results show that PROSE achieves at least 10%～25% performance improvement and 2～4 times overhead reduction compared with existing general CDN-P2P-hybrid schemes.     

Structure and electrical properties of CuAlO<Subscript>2</Subscript> thin films derived by sol–gel processing

CuAlO₂ (CAO) thin films were prepared on quartz glass substrates by sol–gel spin-coating method. The effects of annealing temperatures, concentrations of sols and Al/Cu atomic ratios on structure, morphology and electrical properties have been investigated. It was found that CAO film with an Al/Cu atomic ratio of 0.8 approximately and the total metallic ion concentration of 0.7 M after heat treatment at 750 °C for 3 h in argon gas flow of 450 mL/min exhibited the lowest room temperature resistivity of 13.5 Ωcm.
