Ubiquitous computing is about to become part of our everyday lives by integrating hundreds of “invisible” to us computing devices in our environment, so that they can unobtrusively and constantly assist us. This will imply more and smaller “invisible” sensors, homogeneously distributed and at the same time densely packed in host materials, responding to various stimuli and immediately delivering information. In order to reach this aim, the embedded sensors should be integrated within the host material, heading towards sensorial materials. The first step is to omit all parts that are not needed for the sensorial task and to find new solutions for a gentle integration. This is what we call function scale integration. The dc current-voltage characteristics of microwave diodes are experimentally studied on simultaneous exposure of the diodes to a high-frequency (100 MHz) high-amplitude harmonic signal. In the current-voltage characteristics of the microwave diodes, regions of N-type negative differential resistance, hysteresis, and current oscillations are observed depending on the amplitude and frequency of the high-frequency signal. In this article, the hydrodynamic behavior of dilute aqueous solutions of a natural polysaccharide—gellan in the porous media under the modeled oilfield conditions is described. The hydrodynamic properties of gellan and poly(acrylamide) solutions in saline porous media are compared. The influence of inorganic salts NaCl, KCl, CaCl2, MgCl2, and BaСl2 on sol–gel and gel–sol transitions of dilute gellan solutions was evaluated. The mechanism of sol–gel transition in the presence of individual alkaline and alkaline‐earth metal salts is described on the basis of literature data. The viscometric measurements revealed that the effectiveness of salts to enhance gelation of gellan changes in the following order: BaСl2 > CaCl2 ≈ MgCl2 > KCl > NaCl. The sol–gel and gel–sol phase transitions of gellan solution were also observed upon addition of oil field water containing 73 g L?1 of alkaline and alkaline earth metal ions. During the injection of gellan solutions into the porous media saturated by saline water an oscillation of the injection pressure was observed. Such behavior of gellan is explained by either the sol‐to‐gel and the gel‐to‐sol transitions of the polymer taking place in saline water or the step‐by‐step plugging of high permeable channels until all high permeable channels of sand packs are plugged due to gellan invasion. The application of brine‐initiated gelation of gellan for water shutoff operations (WSO) in field conditions was demonstrated. The trajectory of motion of a copper shell, the velocity of its flight, and the pressure of the explosion products on the inside of the copper shell were simulated. It was found that there is a significant difference in pressure behavior between experiments and calculations performed using the standard equations of state of explosives and explosion products. Most likely, there is a significant contribution of kinetic processes to the energy release behind the Jouguet point. A mathematical model of an ionizing-radiation monitor based on diamond detectors has been developed. Experimental investigations of the monitor were carried out, and, using their results, the model was verified and optimized. It was demonstrated that the developed model makes it possible to calculate data of sensor measurements with an accuracy of 10% or better. These results will be used to reconstruct cosmicradiation spectra according to the output data of the monitor. 相似文献
