A novel diagram which describes the condition of 3 dB coupler is proposed. Using the proposed diagram, the design of a wavelength-flattened 3 dB directional coupler composed of a uniform coupled waveguide is investigated. Normalized waveguide parameters are introduced to characterize a five-layer planar waveguide. This enables us to generalize the discussion and to reduce the number of parameters required for characterizing a coupled waveguide. This paper deals with the design of an adaptive PID control system with a parallel feedforward compensator (PFC) for discrete-time SISO systems and its application to water level control of a 3-tank system. The proposed method utilizes the characteristics of almost strict positive realness (ASPR) of the controlled plant. A conventional design scheme of a PFC which realizes an ASPR augmented controlled plant is also proposed. Further it is shown that the introduction of an internal model improves the control performance of the control system with the PFC. The effectiveness of the proposed method is confirmed through water level control experiments on a three-tank SISO system.  相似文献

Abstract— The broad bands at around 155 nm for GdAl3(BO3)4:Eu, at 184 nm for Ca4GdO(BO3)3:Eu, at 183 nm for Gd2SiO5:Eu, and at 170 nm for GdAlO3:Eu were observed. These bands were assigned to the charge‐transfer (CT) transition of Gd3+‐O2?. In the excitation spectrum of (Gd,Y)BO3:Eu, a broadened excitation band was observed in VUV region. It could be considered that this band was composed of two bands at about 160 and 166 nm. The preceding band was assigned to the BO3 group absorption. The later one at about 166 nm could be assigned to the CT transition of Gd3+‐O2?, according to the result of GdAl3(BO3)4:Eu, Ca4GdO(BO3)3:Eu, Gd2SiO5:Eu, and GdAlO3:Eu. The excitation spectra overlapped between the CT transition of Gd3+‐O2? and BO3 groups absorption. It caused the emission of Eu3+ to take place effectively in the trivalent europium‐doped (Gd,Y)BO3 host lattice under 147‐nm excitation.  相似文献

The characteristics of all-optical switching in a waveguide device with a distributed-feedback structure were experimentally investigated. The device was composed of a strip-loaded GaInAsP/InP waveguide and a distributed-feedback structure, which was fabricated by a combination of reactive-ion etching and electron-beam exposure. In the experiments, several optical switching operations were demonstrated. In particular, the all-optical set-reset operation and threshold operation were obtained.  相似文献

This paper shows that the majority of fuzzy inference methods for a fuzzy conditional proposition “If x is A then y is B,” with A and B fuzzy concepts, can infer very reasonable consequences which fit our intuition with respect to several criteria such as modus ponens and modus tollens, if a new composition called “max-⊙ composition” is used in the compositional rule of inference, though reasonable consequences cannot always be obtained when using the max-min composition, which is used usually in the compositional rule of inference. Furthermore, it is shown that a syllogism holds for the majority of the methods under the max-⊙ composition, though they do not always satisfy the syllogism under the max-min composition.  相似文献

Enzymatic synthesis of PS by phospholipase D (PLD)-mediated transphosphatidylation in an aqueous media was investigated. The purpose of this study was to establish a novel synthetic method where no toxic organic solvents were used. An attempt to react soybean lecithin (simply dispersed in an aqueous buffer) with an aqueous solution of l-serine and PLD was unsuccessful, giving only 20% of PS. By contrast, a suspension of lecithin adsorbed on fine powders such as silica was effectively converted into PS in an aqueous solution of l-serine and PLD. After screening various powders for use as the lecithin adsorbent, calcium sulfate was found to be the best with respect to lecithin conversion. In addition, calcium sulfate did not require prior adsorption of lecithin (i.e., the reaction proceeded effectively simply by adding the powder to an aqueous mixture of lecithin, l-serine, and PLD). With this “aqueous suspension system” of calcium sulfate, up to 180 mg/mL lecithin was completely converted, resulting in more than 80% PS in 24 h. The synthesized PS could easily be recovered from the powder by extracting with a mixture of n-hexane, ethanol, and diluted HCl.  相似文献

All-optical wavelength conversion employing a GaInAsP/InP nonlinear distributed-feedback waveguide switch is investigated. The device has the advantages of simple structure, compactness, polarity-noninverted operation, and feasibility of integration with other photonic devices such as semiconductor optical amplifier and modulators. We show that the device exhibits constant conversion efficiency around -9.2 dB in a signal-wavelength range of 1530-1560 nm. Furthermore, this device can potentially be made polarization independent.  相似文献

We demonstrate all-optical bistable switching by using orthogonally and parallelly polarized control light in a nonlinear distributed feedback GaInAsP waveguide. When the control light that is orthogonally polarized to the signal light is within its stopband, it is possible to extract the signal without using any external devices. Also, we investigate theoretically and experimentally the dependence of threshold switching power on the wavelength and polarization of control light.  相似文献

A nuclear track etched polycarbonate membrane filter with numerous cylindrical nanopores was applied as a nanoporous template for growing metallic nanowires. Nickel, cobalt, and iron nanowires were electrodeposited into the cylindrical nanopores. Cathodic polarization curves were measured to determine an optimum condition for growing nanowires. The shape of nanowires was observed using scanning electron microscope (SEM) and the crystal structure was analyzed using transmission electron microscopy (TEM). Diameter and length of nanowires corresponded to those of nanopores and each nanowire was composed of a single crystal. Anodized aluminum oxide films were also fabricated as a novel nanoporous template. The pore length and diameter was controlled changing anodizing conditions. Ordering behavior of nanopores array in an anodized aluminum oxide film was also investigated to make a novel nanoporous template with a highly ordered honeycomb array of nanopores.  相似文献

All-optical switching characteristics of waveguide devices having a nonlinear distributed feedback structure are reported theoretically and experimentally. These devices were composed of a strip-loaded GaInAsP-InP waveguide and a Bragg reflector, which were suitable for optical integrated circuit.
