An innovative and uniform framework based on a combination of Gabor wavelets with principal component analysis (PCA) and multiple discriminant analysis (MDA) is presented in this paper. In this framework, features are extracted from the optimal random image components using greedy approach. These feature vectors are then projected to subspaces for dimensionality reduction which is used for solving linear problems. The design of Gabor filters, PCA and MDA are crucial processes used for facial feature extraction. The FERET, ORL and YALE face databases are used to generate the results. Experiments show that optimal random image component selection (ORICS) plus MDA outperforms ORICS and subspace projection approach such as ORICS plus PCA. Our method achieves 96.25%, 99.44% and 100% recognition accuracy on the FERET, ORL and YALE databases for 30% training respectively. This is a considerably improved performance compared with other standard methodologies described in the literature.  相似文献

In this work, a new rotational and scale invariant feature set for textural image classification, combined invariant feature (CIF) set has been introduced. It is an integration of the crude wavelets like Gaussian, Mexican Hat and orthogonal wavelets like Daubechies to achieve a high quality rotational and scale invariant feature set. Also it is added with features obtained using the newly proposed weighted smoothening Gaussian filter masks to improve the classification results. To reduce the effect of overlapping features, the variations among the feature set are analyzed and the eigenfeatures are extracted to produce good classification result.The rotational invariance is achieved by using these two wavelets with their directional properties and the scale invariance is achieved by a method, which is an extension to fractal dimension (FD) features. The first- and second-order statistical parameter and entropy characterize the quality of the features extracted. Furthermore, a comparison that shows the higher recognition rate achieved with the newly proposed method for the set of 6720 samples collected from 105 different textures of Brodatz, Vistek, Indezine databases and some additional images collected from other resources of indexed and true color images is shown.  相似文献

We report excellent electrostrain properties of (1 − x)BaTiO3xSrSnO3 (BSTS) Pb-free electroceramics (0 ≤ x ≤ 0.15), as well as the corresponding structural, dielectric, and ferroelectric properties. A tailored phase diagram of the pseudo-binary solid solution of BaTiO3–SrSnO3, which exhibits a nearly composition-independent orthorhombic–tetragonal polymorphic phase boundary close to room temperature, was obtained, and, in contrast to Ba(Ti1−xSnx)O3, the appearance of the relaxor mode was accelerated in the phase transition of BSTS owing to the additional incorporation of Sr. Using these compositionally modified phase-related characteristics, desirable sets of electrostrain properties for actuator applications were obtained. Based on these results, we propose that BSTS is a promising candidate for Pb-free electroceramics for high-precision actuator applications near room temperature.  相似文献

Thin films of Bismuth ferric oxide (BiFeO3) synthesised through sol–gel technique were grown on glass substrates by spin coating method. The X-ray diffraction results indicated that the annealing dwell times play a vital role in the formation of single-phased BiFeO3 (BFO). Crystallite sizes of BFO were found to be in the range of 30–35 nm, as calculated from the X-ray broadening line width data. FT-IR spectra showed well defined bands along with a metal–oxygen bond, indicating short range order in the system. Although crystallization was not affected in the perovskite BFO phase, the surface morphology (including the RMS roughness value) of the thin films was found to be influenced by the heat treatment conditions. The influence of processing parameters on the microstructure and optical properties were studied. The magnetic measurement studies at room temperature reveal an antiferromagnetic behaviour for the grown thin films.  相似文献
