The authors discuss the Macintosh Programmer's Workshop (MPW), a Macintosh development environment that includes a comprehensive set of programming tools and handles several languages. It also combines the graphical interface common to all Macintosh applications, a command language similar to the Unix shell languages, and Smalltalk's immediate execution of commands in any window. They focus on the program-development environment rather than on the tools in that environment. They give the history of MPW, and describe its design goals. The authors discuss the development of a long-wavelength (8-14-μm) 128×128 AlxGa1-xAs/GaAs multiquantum well infrared (MQW IR) imaging system. Highly uniform, high-yield GaAs focal plane arrays, incorporating an integral grating structure for efficient optical coupling, were hybridized to CMOS multiplexers. Excellent imagery, with low noise, a noise equivalent differential temperature (NEΔT) of less than 10 mK, and a high image contrast signal-to-noise ratio, has been achieved. Formerly, few foods were routinely analyzed for vitamin A, but recent emphasis on nutrient requirements, nutrient labeling, and use of dietary convenience foods has created need for determining vitamin A in a variety of foods. There are many vitamin A methods — some suitable for certain products only. For regulatory purposes, the FDA specifies the AOAC method where it is applicable. However, some food analysts and organizations continue with their own vitamin A methods. If possible, a single, widely applicable general method should be used for vitamin A in foods. Vitamin A may be determined by spectrophotometric, colorimetric, and fluorometric procedures. Sometimes chromatography is required as an important part of the method. Colorimetric procedures with SbCl3 are now most widely used to measure vitamin A (retinol) in foods. If vitamin A content is high enough and extracts sufficiently free of interfering substances, spectrophotometric or flurometric methods are satisfactory. Methods in various stages of development for determining vitamin A in foods are based on flurospectrophotometry, gas‐liquid chromatography, high‐performance liquid chromatography, and automation. To estimate total vitamin A nutritional value of certain foods may also require determination of vitamin A isomerization and contents of carotenes, cryptoxanthin, reinaldehyde, and apo‐carotenal. 相似文献

The relative merits of Ada and C++ have fostered numerous discussions among software developers. With the release of Ada 95 and its object-oriented features, we expect these discussions to intensify, particularly given the increasing number of features for which there are implementations in both languages. In this paper, we compare Ada and C++ based on the readability of class and client implementations. We examine this issue using a case study. Our case study illustrates a partial tradeoff that exists between the readability of a class and the readability of its clients. This tradeoff depends on the degree to which overloading is used; extensive use of overloading adds to class complexity, although it increases client readability. 相似文献

The synthesis of 1‐nitroguanyl‐3‐nitro‐5‐amino‐1,2,4‐triazole (ANTA‐NQ) ( 1 ) with good yield and high purity is described. DSC analysis showed that the material displays good thermal stability. An X‐ray crystallographic analysis confirms the structure of this material, as well as displays intramolecular hydrogen bonding. A gas pycnometry density for this material was measured to be 1.79 g cm−3. The heat of formation of this material was also measured. These data, along with the molecular formula were used as inputs to calculate the detonation velocity and detonation pressure using the Cheetah thermochemical code. The sensitivity of this material towards impact, spark and friction was also measured, as well as its vacuum thermal stability. The 3‐azido derivative 2 was also prepared and its properties are described as well. The above data show that (ANTA‐NQ) may be a high performing material with low sensitivity and good thermal stability. 相似文献

Salmonid fish require long-chain n−3 fatty acids in their diet. The digestibility of different chemical forms of fish oil
fatty acids, fed as triacylglycerols, free fatty acids or ethyl esters, was examined in 300 g farmed Atlantic salmon (Salmo salar) using cholestane as an indicator of fat absorptionin lieu of the chromium oxide (Cr2O3) which is commonly used as a marker in digestibility studies. It was established that the two digestibility markers gave
similar results. Conveniently, cholestane does not require a separate analysis if fatty acids are to be determined by appropriate
gas-liquid chromatography. The long-chain polyunsaturated fatty acids were particularly well absorbed, the apparent digestibility
being 90–98% when feeding triacylglycerols or free fatty acids. However, the digestibility of monounsaturated fatty acids
(75–94%) was lower, and lower still for saturated fatty acids (50–80%). Ethyl esters of fatty acids were significantly less
well absorbed (P<0.05) than were the corresponding fatty acids in free acid or triacylglycerol form. Irrespective of dietary fat type, only
free fatty acids were identified in feces, indicating total hydrolysis of triacylglycerols and ethyl esters.

A linear model for use in determining stability, relative stability, and dynamic response of phase-angle modulated SCR systems is presented. The model is based on sampled-data control theory and assumes 1) a system bandwidth that is small relative to sampling frequency, and 2) limited excursion of the SCR triggering angle. These assumptions are justified for practical systems. The theory leads to a simple equivalent transport-lag representation. If the triggering angle varies over a relatively wide range, a "worst-case" analysis is necessary using the linear model. An example is included to illustrate use of the model for system design and is supported by experimental data. 相似文献
