Design, implementation and operation of solar thermal electricity plants are no more an academic task, rather they have become a necessity. In this paper, we work with power industries to formulate a multi-objective optimization model and attempt to solve the resulting problem using classical as well as evolutionary optimization techniques. On a set of four objectives having complex trade-offs, our proposed procedure first finds a set of trade-off solutions showing the entire range of optimal solutions. Thereafter, the evolutionary optimization procedure is combined with a multiple criterion decision making (MCDM) approach to focus on preferred regions of the trade-off frontier. Obtained solutions are compared with a classical generating method. Eventually, a decision-maker is involved in the process and a single preferred solution is obtained in a systematic manner. Starting with generating a wide spectrum of trade-off solutions to have a global understanding of feasible solutions, then concentrating on specific preferred regions for having a more detailed understanding of preferred solutions, and then zeroing on a single preferred solution with the help of a decision-maker demonstrates the use of multi-objective optimization and decision making methodologies in practice. As a by-product, useful properties among decision variables that are common to the obtained solutions are gathered as vital knowledge for the problem. The procedures used in this paper are ready to be used to other similar real-world problem solving tasks.  相似文献

A problem-solving based computer-assisted tutorial for the earth sciences   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1  
Abstract This study investigated the effects of a Problem-Solving based Computer-Assisted Tutorial (PSCAT) on earth science achievement and attitudes toward earth science of tenth graders (16-year olds) in a senior high school in Taiwan. A total of 137 students who were enrolled in four earth science classes participated in this pre-test/post-test control-group experiment. The experimental groups received the PSCAT; whereas the comparison groups received a Lecture-Internet-Discussion (LID) teaching approach. A multivariate analysis of covariance on the post-test scores of the Earth Science Achievement Test and Attitudes Toward Earth Science Inventory, with students' pre-test scores as the covariates, suggested that PSCAT produced (almost) significantly greater gains on students' earth science achievement than did the LID approach and that no statistically significant increase or decrease in student attitudes toward earth science was found for either group.  相似文献

目前许多企业对销售人员的绩效考核大多采用定量指标,如销售量、货款回收率、区域市场占有率等指标,造成销售人员为了单纯完成销售任务,不能从企业的大局出发来开展销售工作,甚至有的销售人员为了追求完成单纯的定量指标,不惜损害企业的整体利益,对销售工作的长远发展有负面作用。制定一个对企业最有利的考核制度,分定量和定性两部分并且对其定期进行考核。  相似文献

The relationships between Wechsler Intelligence Scale for Children-Third Edition (WISC-III) and the Cognitive Assessment System (CAS) with the Woodcock-Johnson Tests of Achievement (WJ-III) were examined for a sample of 119 children (87 males and 32 females) ages 6 to 16. The sample was comprised of children who were referred to a specialty clinic for evaluation. Participants were administered the WISC-III, the CAS, and the WJ-III, in that order. Results indicated that CAS/WJ-III correlations were consistently significantly higher than those found for the WISC-III/WJ-III. The four separate CAS scales added more variance above and beyond the four separate WISC-III scales than the WISC-III added above and beyond the CAS. In addition, the CAS Full Scale accounted for more unique variance and was a stronger predictor of WJ-III Academic Skills Cluster than the WISC-III Full Scale IQ. These results support the validity of the Planning, Attention, Simultaneous, and Successive theory as measured by the CAS in relation to the general intelligence model measured using the WISC-III for explaining variance in achievement for this clinical sample. In a polyomino set (1, 2)-achievement game the maker and the breaker alternately mark one and two previously unmarked cells respectively. The maker’s goal is to mark a set of cells congruent to one of a given set of polyominoes. The breaker tries to prevent the maker from achieving his goal. The teams of polyominoes for which the maker has a winning strategy is determined up to size 4. In set achievement games, it is natural to study infinitely large polyominoes. This enables the construction of super winners that characterize all winning teams up to a certain size.  相似文献
