QoS Negotiation and Renegotiation Based on Mobile Agents

As the Quality of Service （QoS） becomes increasingly important in the Internet development, there are more and more researches focusing on the issues of QoS negotiation. Mobile software agents represent a valid alternative to the implementation of strategies for the negotiation. In this paper, a QoS negotiation and renegotiation system architecture based on mobile agents is proposed. These agents perform the task in the whole process and therefore reduce the network load, overcome latency, and avoid frequent exchange information between clients and server. The simulation results show that it can improve the network resource utility about 10%.

Enacting agent-based services for automated procurement

Negotiation events in industrial procurement involving multiple, highly customisable goods pose serious challenges to buying agents when trying to determine the best set of providing agents’ offers. Typically, a buying agent's decision involves a large variety of constraints that may involve attributes of a very same item as well as attributes of different, multiple items. In this paper we present iBundler, an agent-aware service offered to buying agents to help them determine the optimal bundle of received offers based on their business rules. In this way, buying agents are relieved with the burden of solving too hard a problem and concentrate on strategic issues. iBundler is intended as a negotiation service for buying agents and as a winner determination service for reverse combinatorial auctions with side constraints. Furthermore, we assess the computational cost added by employing agent technology in the development of iBundler to characterise the type of negotiation scenarios that it can acceptably handle.     

基于多Agent的医疗信任模型的模拟

结合直接交互信任评价和第三方信誉推荐,提出了一种基于多Agent技术的医疗信任模拟模型。使用置信因子来综合直接交互信任值和第三方信誉推荐值;避免了患者直接交互的盲目性和巨额计算,完善了对医生自我推荐的辨别能力。实验采用Swarm仿真平台模拟医疗信任模型的交互过程,结果表明该模型在确定信任关系中相对IT模型要快,比第三方信誉推荐模型相对要可靠。     

An agent-based signal processing in-node environment for real-time human activity monitoring based on wireless body sensor networks

Nowadays wireless body sensor networks (WBSNs) have great potential to enable a broad variety of assisted living applications such as human biophysical/biochemical control and activity monitoring for health care, e-fitness, emergency detection, emotional recognition for social networking, security, and highly interactive games. It is therefore important to define design methodologies and programming frameworks which enable rapid prototyping of WBSN applications. Several effective application development frameworks have been already proposed for WBSNs designed for TinyOS-based sensor platforms, e.g. CodeBlue, SPINE, and Titan. In this paper we present an application of MAPS, an agent framework for wireless sensor networks based on the Java-programmable Sun SPOT sensor platform, for the development of a real-time WBSN-based system for human activity monitoring. The agent-oriented programming abstractions provided by MAPS allow effective and rapid prototyping of the sensor-side software. In particular, the architecture of the developed system is a typical star-based WBSN composed of a coordinator node and two sensor nodes located respectively on the waist and the thigh of the monitored assisted living. The coordinator relies on a JADE-based enhancement of the SPINE coordinator and allows configuring sensors, receiving their data, and recognizing pre-defined human activities. On the other hand, each sensor node runs a MAPS-based agent that performs sensing of the 3-axial accelerometer sensor, computation of significant features on the acquired data, feature aggregation and transmission to the coordinator. The experimentation phase of the prototype, which allows evaluating the obtainable monitoring performances and activity recognition accuracy, is described. Moreover, a comparison of the monitoring system based on MAPS, AFME and SPINE in terms of programming effectiveness and system performances is discussed.     

Plans, Actions and Dialogues Using Linear Logic

We describe how Intuitionistic Linear Logic can be used to provide a unified logical account for agents to find and execute plans. This account supports the modelling of agent interaction, including dialogue; allows agents to be robust to unexpected events and failures; and supports significant reuse of agent specifications. The framework has been implemented and several case studies have been considered. Further applications include human–computer interfaces as well as agent interaction in the semantic web.     

主动网络中基于多代理系统的流量均衡*

主动网络流量均衡控制ATEC是一种在主动网络环境中,基于多代理MA系统的网络性能控制机制。该方法将多路径路由和资源分配相结合,利用非线性规划启发式算法——多路径等性能策略,实现网络流量和带宽资源的均衡配置,从而避免或减少网络拥塞的发生,达到提高网络性能的目的。着重介绍了ATEC的多代理MA系统实现,包括基本算法、一般模型、代理设计和合作模型的设计,并给出了仿真结果。
