A method for the assessment of the optimal operating conditions for a mechanically stirred gas–liquid reactor is presented. The method exploits both fluid dynamic and chemical information. First, the behavior of the specific stirring power as a function of the stirrer speed allows singling out the dispersion region, in which the most efficient gas–liquid mass transfer is achieved. Inside this region, the analysis of experimental data obtained when considering a chemical system reacting at moderate Hatta numbers (i.e., Ha < about 2) allows determination of the rate constants and the fluid dynamic parameters (i.e., the mass transfer coefficient in the absence of chemical reaction and the characteristic diffusion time). 相似文献

An accurate acceptance-rejection algorithm is devised and tested. The procedure requires an average of less than 3 uniform deviates whenever the standard deviation of the distribution is at least 4, and this number decreases monotonically to 2.63 as . The degradation of organic substances present in winery wastewater was studied in a pilot-scale, bubble column ozonation reactor. A steady reduction of chemical oxygen demand (COD) was observed under the action of ozone at the natural pH of the wastewater (pH 4). At alkaline and neutral pH the degradation rate was accelerated by the formation of radical species from the decomposition of ozone. Furthermore, the reaction of hydrogen peroxide (formed from natural organic matter in the wastewater) and ozone enhances the oxidation capacity of the ozonation process. The monitoring of pH, redox potential (ORP), UV absorbance (254 nm), polyphenol content and ozone consumption was correlated with the oxidation of the organic species in the water. The ozonation of winery wastewater in the bubble column was analysed in terms of a mole balance coupled with ozonation kinetics modeled by the two-film theory of mass transfer and chemical reaction. It was determined that the ozonation reaction can develop both in and across different kinetic regimes: fast, moderate and slow, depending on the experimental conditions. The dynamic change of the rate coefficient estimated by the model was correlated with changes in the water composition and oxidant species. 相似文献

The rapid development of Additive Manufacturing (AM) has been conspicuous and appealing towards manufacturing end-use products and components over the past decade. The continual advancement of AM has brought many advantages such as personalization and customization, reduction of material waste, cutting off the existence of special tooling during fabrication, etc. However, the AM approach has its limitations, such as a lack of knowledge of AM process activities and the progressive industrialization of AM, which makes the design process activities unstable, unpredictable, and have a limited effect. The concept of “design for AM (DFAM)” is increasing, which means we have the opportunity to concentrate almost totally on product functioning. Therefore, the entire design paradigm must be revised to accommodate new production capabilities, geometries, and parameters to avoid molding or machine tooling technology constraints. Few studies have attempted to provide systematic and quantitative knowledge of the relationship between these elements and the feasibility of the design process, making it difficult for designers to assess and control AM industrialization. For this reason, DFAM is needed to reform AM from rapid manufacturing to a mainstream manufacturing method. This paper put forward a framework based on the Fuzzy Bayesian Network (FBN) for DFAM decision-making. Twenty impact factors were encapsulated from experts’ experience and existing literature to investigate the potential adaptability of DFAM. The proposed approach uses expert knowledge and Fuzzy Set Theory (FST) presented with Triangular Fuzzy Numbers (FFN) to perceive the uncertainties. The Bayesian Network (BN) captures the causal relationships and dependencies among the impact components and analyzes the DFAM adaptability for robust probabilistic reasoning. A robot arm claw was used to show the effectiveness of our approach. The results showed that FBN could be used to guide DFAM adaptability in the manufacturing industry. 相似文献

Equilibrium and kinetics studies are required to design the continuous extraction process for the acid-extraction system. In the present study, an attempt has been made to investigate the equilibrium and kinetics parameters for the reactive extraction of phenylacetic acid (PAA) with tri-n-butyl phosphate (TBP) in hexanol. The equilibrium results show that the formation of the (1:1) PAA–TBP complex in the organic phase with an overall equilibrium complexation constant (Ke) was 78.74 and 29.15 m3.kmol?1 for TBP concentrations of 0.734 and 1.464 kmol.m?3, respectively. The mass transfer coefficients (kL) for PAA were found to be in the range of 3.7 × 10–5–6.2 × 10–5 m.s?1. Based on the Hatta number (Ha = 8.48), the reaction was found to be fast chemical reaction (regime 3) with the order of reaction as 0.77 and 0.36 with respect to PAA and TBP, respectively.
