A series of compounds from the tetraceno[2,3‐b]thiophene and the anthra[2,3‐b]thiophene family of semiconducting molecules has been made. Specifically, synthetic routes to functionalize the parent molecules with bromo and then hexyl groups are shown. The bromo‐ and hexyl‐functionalized tetraceno[2,3‐b]thiophene and anthra[2,3‐b]thiophene were characterized in the top‐contact thin‐film transistor (TFT) geometry. They give high mobilities, ranging from 0.12 cm2 V?1 s?1 for α‐n‐hexylanthra[2,3‐ b]thiophene to as high as 0.85 cm2 V?1 s?1 for α‐bromotetraceno[2,3‐b]thiophene. Notably, grain size increases, going from the shorter anthra[2,3‐b]thiophene core to the longer tetraceno[2,3‐b]thiophene core, with a corresponding increase in mobility. The transition from undesirable 3D to desirable 2D thin‐film growth is explained by the increase in length of the molecule, in this case by one benzene ring, which results in an increase in intralayer interactions relative to interlayer interactions. 相似文献

The larvae of a rare noctuid moth, Lasionycta wyatti, were found to be associated with the stems and roots of Ambrosia chamissonis, a species found along sandy beaches in western North America. High-performance liquid chromatographic (HPLC) analyses of L. wyatti larvae and their frass revealed significant amounts of thiarubrines, secondary compounds characteristic of this host plant. Artificial diet studies showed that thiarubrines were well tolerated by these larvae. These same diets, however, were toxic to larvae of Manduca sexta and inhibited larval growth of Spodoptera litura. Even in the presence of simulated sunlight, artificial diets containing thiarubrines did not affect larvae of L. wyatti. However, dietary incorporation of thiophenes, natural UV-activated breakdown products of thiarubrines, was deleterious to larvae of L. wyatti. 相似文献

Abstract Two kinds of room temperature ionic liquids (RTILs) 1-butyl-3-methyl limidazolium chloroaluminate (III) ([bmim]Cl+AlCl3) and 1-butyl-3-methyl limidazolium hexfluorophosphate ([bmim]PF6) were synthesized, respectively, and the removal of thiophenes from refined diesel was studied by the method of complex extraction. The results showed that under the best operational conditions, the content of thiophenes went down 46 wt% in chloroaluminate RTIL and 69 wt% in hexfluorophosphate RTIL, and other properties of diesel were improved at the same time. Both of the two kinds of RTILs can be used for several times through regenerating. 相似文献

A series of novel 2-aryl1-4-bromothiophenes (2a–f), biarylthiophenes with non-identical aryl groups (3a–e) and biarylthiophenes with identical aryl groups (4a–f) were synthesized in moderate to excellent yields by using different arylboronic acids in a Suzuki–Miyaura cross-coupling reaction. The experimental results showed that the use of K2CO3 as base resulted in moderate yields compared with that of good yields obtained upon using K3PO4. The highest yield obtained using K3PO4 was 82% for 2, 4-bis (4-chlorophenyl) thiophene (4d). The synthesized compounds in the present study were examined for their biofilm inhibition and hemolysis assay. Among all compounds 2, 4-bis (4-methoxyphenyl) thiophene (4b) was found to strongly inhibit the formation of bacterial biofilm against E. coli. The compound 4b exhibited higher inhibition (80.92%) compared with the standard Rifampicin with 97.43% inhibition. The compound 2, 4-bis (4-chlorophenyl) thiophene (4d) displayed strong anti-biofilm activity with its ability to prevent the formation of Pasteurell amultocida biofilm at the percent inhibition of 74.53%. In addition, 2f showed the highest percentage hemolysis 16.0% compared with that of the standard Triton-X-100. 3 相似文献

A series of 2,5-diaroyl-3-arylthiophenes were obtained from the 3+2-self annulation of bis(aroylmethyl) sulfides in the presence of sodium hydroxide. This transformation occurs presumably via a tandem intermolecular condensation - ring closing intramolecular displacement-aromatization via air oxidation and elimination sequence. 相似文献
