Polymers play an important role in the advancement of materials for use in cutting-edge applications. A direct consequence of an increased demand for more sophisticated materials has been a drive toward developing polymers that exhibit a higher level of structural control, especially in terms of the number and type of functionalities provided within the polymer framework. A family of polymers that meets such a challenge is based on the readily available AB2 monomer 2,2-bismethylolpropionic acid (bis-MPA) building block. Due to the ease with which the monomers can be synthesized, an array of multifunctional polymers have been produced including monodisperse dendrimers and dendrons and well-defined linear polymers as well as linear-dendritic hybridizations. This review outlines the evolution of the synthetic strategies for developing novel polymeric architectures based on bis-MPA and their assessment in both solution and substrate-based innovative applications.  相似文献

A series of novel aliphatic poly(β‐thioether ester)s with various methylene group contents were prepared by direct lipase‐catalyzed polycondensation of the monomer with an acid‐labile β‐thiopropionate group. The polycondensation reaction using immobilized lipase B from Candida antarctica was carried out in diphenyl ether at 90 °C. Poly(β‐thioether ester)s with high molecular weights of 20 500–57 000 Da and narrow polydispersities in the range 1.40–1.48 were obtained. Thermogravimetric analysis, differential scanning calorimetry and wide‐angle X‐ray diffraction were used to investigate the thermal properties and crystal structures of these polyesters. All the poly(β‐thioether ester)s were semicrystalline polymers and thermally stable up to at least 200 °C. In vitro degradation studies showed that they can rapidly degrade under acidic conditions by the hydrolysis of the β‐thiopropionate groups, suggesting their potential as acid‐degradable polymeric materials. © 2019 Society of Chemical Industry  相似文献

A device able to electrokinetically concentrate cationic samples has many potential medical and industrial applications, but until now has remained undeveloped due to the lack of a commercial anion-permselective material leading to a prohibitively complex fabrication procedure. Herein, a novel multiscale-porous anion exchange membrane (MP-AEM) that enables the convenient and scalable electrokinetic concentration of cationic species is proposed. A mechanically enhanced multiscale-porous structure with a solid framework is realized by adopting polyester resin as an additive to overcome the intrinsic limitations of the AEM material. The scalable MP-AEM-embedded electrokinetic concentrator is devised based on the peculiar properties of the MP-AEM that for allow both ion and fluid transport. With the MP-AEM, the concentrator is fabricated in a highly streamlined manner consisting only of a simple insertion and assembly. The concentration performance of the MP-AEM-embedded electrokinetic concentrator is demonstrated with a positively charged fluorescent dye and a fluorescein-labeled protein, and the results show enrichment factors of 250 and 500, respectively. The MP-AEM makes cationic electrokinetic concentration more accessible and scalable, thereby enabling further progress in a wide range of fields.  相似文献

Itaconate (ITA) is an emerging powerhouse of innate immunity with therapeutic potential that is limited in its ability to be administered in a soluble form. A library of polyester materials that incorporate ITA into polymer backbones resulting in materials with inherent immunoregulatory behavior is developed. Harnessing hydrolytic degradation release from polyester backbones, ITA polymers result in the mechanism specific immunoregulatory properties on macrophage polarization in vitro. In a functional assay, the polymer-released ITA inhibits bacterial growth on acetate. Translation to an in vivo model of biomaterial associated inflammation, intraperitoneal injection of ITA polymers demonstrate a rapid resolution of inflammation in comparison to a control polymer silicone, demonstrating the value of sustained biomimetic presentation of ITA.  相似文献

利用十二酰胺丙基二甲胺和氯乙醇反应 ,合成了十二酰胺丙基二甲基羟乙基氯化铵 (DDHA)阳离子表面活性剂 ,将其与十二烷基硫酸钠 (SDS)以不同摩尔比进行混合 ,测定了混合系统的表面张力 ,计算了单一系统和混合系统的饱和吸附量、分子最小截面积 ,表面层和胶束中 DDHA的摩尔分率及分子间相互作用参数 ,目视观察了混合系统的浑浊情况。结果表明 :在降低γcmc和 cmc方面 ,DDHA SDS混合系统有协同效应 ,表面层和胶束的组成与二组分配比有关 ,但是非对称的 ,等物质的量混合物中 ,DDHA在胶束和表面层中具有较大的摩尔分数。DDHA与 SDS在实验测定的各混合系统中都不出现混浊  相似文献

We investigated liquid crystallization of liquid crystalline polyester BB-5 during isothermal annealing by digital high-fidelity microscope and light scattering. A liquid crystalline spherical domain having a radius of micrometers appeared by annealing at around 180 °C. The domain grew dendritically in all directions. Neighboring liquid crystalline regions coalesced and then interconnected. The interconnected structure changed to a co-continuous two-phase structure with increasing ordering of the liquid crystalline phase, and the interface between the liquid crystalline phase and the isotropic phase became smoother over time. Liquid crystallization stopped before volume filling the whole space, and the liquid crystalline phase and isotropic phase coexisted. The liquid crystalline region became narrower with an increase in the temperature of the liquid crystallization. Such structural development is different from the liquid-liquid phase separation via spinodal decomposition, and it may be attributed to the segregation of non-liquid crystallizable low molecular weight molecules from the growth front by fractionation of the molecular weight distribution during the liquid crystallization in terms of the instability of the diffusion-controlled interface.  相似文献
