A General Method for the Synthesis of 5H‐Benzo[b]‐, Carbazolo[2,3‐b]‐ and Indolo[2,3‐b]carbazole Derivatives via Copper(II) Triflate‐Catalyzed Heteroannulation

A straightforward approach for the construction of 5H‐benzo[b]‐, carbazolo[2,3‐b]‐ and indolo[2,3‐b]carbazole derivatives has been developed by using copper(II) triflate‐catalyzed heteroannulation.     

Microwave‐Assisted Synthesis of Pyrazino[2,1‐b]quinazolines and 3‐Indolyl‐2(1H)‐pyrazinones Employing a Chemoselective Silver(I)‐ and Gold(I)‐Catalyzed Reaction

Novel microwave‐assisted syntheses of pyrazino[2,1‐b]quinazolines and 3‐indolyl‐2(1H)‐pyrazinones employing silver(I)‐ or gold(I)‐catalyzed protocols have been elaborated. The scope and limitations of these processes have been investigated.     

Copper Pincer Complexes as Advantageous Catalysts for the Heteroannulation of ortho‐Halophenols and Alkynes

A new, non‐symmetrical copper(II) pincer complex catalyzes much more efficiently the formation of benzofuran by the reaction between ortho‐iodophenols and alkynes. The lowest catalyst loadings are realized for this reaction, and bromo‐ and chlorophenols are heteroannulated for the first time. Strong evidence for hydrophenoxylation and intramolecular halogen atom‐transfer steps catalyzed by this remarkably active, recyclable homogeneous catalyst is provided.
