The glycerolipid composition of a high‐palmitoleic acid sunflower (Helianthus annuus L.) mutant accumulating up to 20% of n‐7 fatty acids was studied. This line produces oil with a complex triacylglycerol (TAG) composition, containing species that have not been previously identified in sunflower. In this regard, palmitoleic acid was esterified in an unexpected way in the three positions of the TAG molecules. The polar glycerolipid composition of the mutant was also studied, in order to identify and quantify the changes in membrane lipids imposed by the sunflower enzymatic machinery during the accumulation of the unusual n‐7 fatty acids. The high‐palmitoleic mutant accumulated important quantities of n‐7 fatty acids in the polar lipid fraction, especially in the phosphatidylcholine lipid class. However, the total polar lipid content of these lines was not affected. On the other hand, the mutations responsible for the n‐7 lipid accumulation induced an important decrease in the oil yield of the new mutant.  相似文献

Two-kilogram quantities of structured lipids (SL) of menhaden fish and canola oils containing caprylic acids (8∶0) were produced in a laboratory-scale packed-bed bioreactor by acidolysis catalyzed by an immobilized lipase, Lipozyme IM, from Rhizomucor miehei. SL were characterized and their oxidative stabilities investigated. The SL contained 29.5% 8∶0 for fish oil and 40.15 for canola oil. Polyunsaturated fatty acids (PUFA) of fish oil remained unchanged after the modification while PUFA of canola oil were reduced from 29.6 to 21.2%. Monoenes, especially 18∶1n−9, were completely replaced by 8∶0 in fish oil and reduced from 61.9 to 34.7% in canola oil. Downstream processing of enzymatically produced SL led to loss in natural total tocopherol contents of the fish and canola oils. The effects of antioxidants such as α-tocopherol (TOC), tert-butylhydroxyquinone (TBHQ), and combinations thereof on the oxidative stability of SL were investigated. SL were analyzed for oxidative stability index, peroxide value, conjugated diene content, free fatty acid content, iodine value, saponification number, and thiobarbituric acid value. Iodine value of unmodified fish oil (154.71) was reduced to 144.10 and that of canola oil (114.49) to 97.27 after modification. The SN increased from 183.72 to 242.63 for fish oil and from 172.50 to 227.90 for canola oil. TBHQ exhibited better antioxidant effects than TOC. A combination of TBHQ/TOC also proved to be an effective antioxidant for SL. We suggest the addition of antioxidants to enzymatically produced and purified SL.  相似文献

The cuticular hydrocarbon compositions of two sympatric species of Australian Drosophila in the montium subgroup of the melanogaster group that use cuticular hydrocarbons in mate recognition have been characterized. Drosophila birchii has 34 components in greater than trace amounts, with a carbon number range of C20 to C33. Drosophila serrata has 21 components above trace level and a carbon number range of C24 to C31. These two species share eight hydrocarbon components, with all but two of them being monoenes. For both species, the (Z)-9-monoenes are the predominant positional isomer. The hydrocarbons of D. birchii are n-alkanes, n-alkenes (Z)-5-, (Z)-7-, (Z)-9-, and (Z)-11-), low to trace levels of homologous (Z,Z)-7,11- and (Z,Z)-9,13-dienes; and trace amounts of (Z,Z)-5,9-C25:2, a major component of D. serrata. Only one methyl branched hydrocarbon was detected (2-methyl C28), and it occurred at very low levels. The hydrocarbons of D. serrata are dominated by a homologous series of (Z,Z)-5,9-dienes, and notably, are characterized by the apparent absence of n-alkanes. Homologous series of (Z)-5-, (Z)-7-, and (Z)-9-alkenes are also present in D. serrata as well as 2-methyl alkanes. Drosophila serrata females display strong directional mate choice based on male cuticular hydrocarbons and prefer D. serrata males with higher relative abundances of the 2-methyl alkanes, but lower relative abundances of (Z,Z)-5,9-C24:2 and (Z)-9-C25:1.  相似文献
