Repair of car park ceilings with cathodic corrosion protection: investigations on the cathodic protection with separation cracks A repair of parking structures according to the repair principle of the cathodic corrosion protection (CP) can be an economic and gentle possibility to sustainably increase the remaining service life of the structure. RC ceilings frequently show separation cracks with penetrating chloride-containing water and pitting corrosion of the reinforcement on the underside of the ceiling. This raises the question for the expert planner whether a CP system applied to the upper side of the ceiling can safely protect the corroding reinforcement on the underside. In practice it has been shown that proof of sufficient protection for this application is not trivial. This question was thoroughly examined in laboratory tests at the Institute for Material and Building Research of Munich University of Applied Sciences and in an underground parking garage. In summary of the investigations, it can be shown that the proof of the protection of the rear reinforcement in the separation crack can only be provided in a few of the investigated cases with the CP-system installed solely on the upper ceiling side. The 100 mV criterion stipulated normatively in DIN EN ISO 12696 is too conservative for the proof of protection. However, if the proof of the 100 mV criterion is not successful, then corrosion and protective current measurements on subsequently electrically separated reinforcement areas can be considered more suitable for the proof of protection.  相似文献

Temporary corrosion protection of prestressing steels in non‐injected ducts Prestressing steels may be subjected to corrosive conditions during the manufacturing process at building sites. Due to this a risk of hydrogen induced stress corrosion cracking of the steels may arise. Tests under practical conditions in a prestressed concrete beam were carried out where non‐injected ducts were treated with preheated scavenging air to prove this method being able to protect the prestressing steels against corrosion. The results yielded sufficient corrosion protection by this measure and therefore it may be an interesting alternative in comparison to corrosion protection by film forming agents which contain inhibitors.  相似文献

Technical regulations for the selection of materials and dura bility for steel structures – Development and current status. One of the most important changes of the revised DIN EN 1993‐1‐4 released in October 2015 can be found in the annex section A ”Selection of materials and durability“. Contrary to the previous version this annex is now normative. By means of a point system considering different key variables that influence the selection of stainless steel alloys and combines values for each to give a total corrosion resistance factor suitable alloys can be selected. The annex aims to provide a methodology for use by designers with no specialist knowledge of either corrosion or stainless steels. Replacement construction of quays at the naval base in Wilhelmshaven At the naval base of Wilhelmshaven the quay walls and dolphins of a floating bridge system are being renewed. The existing quays show extensive damage and stability deficits. In particular, microbially induced corrosion (MIC) on the back of the old sheet piling lead to rust corrosion of the old sheet pile walls. Content of the report is the conceptual and structural implementation of the measure quay renewal that has been executed since the beginning of 2013. Special attention is paid to the security of the stock during the construction period, the selected corrosion protection measures as well as the requirements for the installation of combined sheet piling.  相似文献
