High‐performance thermosets with tailored properties derived from methacrylated eugenol and epoxy‐based vinyl ester

A renewable chemical, eugenol, is methacrylated to produce methacrylated eugenol (ME) employing the Steglich esterification reaction without any solvent. The resulting ME is used as a low‐viscosity co‐monomer to replace styrene in a commercial epoxy‐based vinyl ester resin (VE). The volatility and viscosity of ME and styrene are compared. The effect of ME loading and temperature on the viscosity of the VE–ME resin is investigated. Moreover, the thermomechanical properties, curing extent and thermal stability of the fully cured VE–ME thermosets are systematically examined. The results indicate that ME is a monomer with low volatility and low viscosity, and therefore the incorporation of ME monomer in VE resins allows significant reduction of viscosity. Moreover, the viscosity of the VE–ME resin can be tailored by adjusting the ME loadings and processing temperature to meet commercial liquid molding technology requirements. The glass transition temperatures of VE–ME thermosets range from 139 to 199 °C. In addition, more than 95% of the monomer is incorporated and fixed in the crosslinked network structure of VE–ME thermosets. Overall, the developed ME monomer exhibits promising potential for replacing styrene as an effective low‐viscosity co‐monomer. The VE–ME resins show great advantages for use in polymer matrices for high‐performance fiber‐reinforced composites. CFH-Ⅱ型翻车机传动齿轮轴承座的座脚螺栓联接失效分析与改进

分析了CFH-Ⅱ型翻车机传动齿轮轴承座的座脚螺栓组联接失效(松动)的原因，得出控制和保证合适的螺栓组联接预紧力是防止螺栓联接失效(松动)的关键；依据现场条件，对座脚螺栓进行了设计改进；提出了一种适合现场使用的螺栓预热伸长的装配方法，经实践验证此法是简单可靠的装配方法。     

用超声波技术测量螺栓轴向紧固应力

超声波速度会因材料中加载应力而产生微小的变化，这一现象特别适用于测量螺栓的轴向应力。根据螺栓的轴向应力与超声波传播时间变化率的关系，作者研究了一种可直接测量螺栓轴同应力的仪器。实验结果显示，本项技术十分适合现场的实际应用。     

换热器小浮头螺栓断裂失效分析

针对换热器小浮头螺栓发生断裂的情况进行失效分析，找出原因，提出处理措施及材质选择时应注意的问题。     

The new structure of fibre glass reinforced plastics bolt

螺栓角钢钢节点的三维非线性有限元分析

对螺栓角钢钢节点半刚性连接采用非线性有限元分析方法 ,对连接中的主要构件的顶部、底部、腹板角钢、高强螺栓、梁翼缘、柱翼缘和柱翼缘加劲肋进行三维非线性有限元精细模拟 ,针对有无柱加劲肋、有无腹板角钢等几种连接的情况进行比较分析 ,探讨了螺栓角钢半刚性连接的受力性能。

Non-destructive testing of rock bolts using guided ultrasonic waves

The research outlined in this paper is aimed at the development of a portable non-destructive testing instrument for evaluating the condition of rock bolts. In applications such as coal mine roof reinforcement, the opportunities for rock bolt inspection are currently limited to destructive techniques such as the pull-out test. It is proposed that guided ultrasonic waves can be used to solve this inspection problem, using a pulse-echo test carried out from the free end of the bolt. Suitable test frequencies have been identified through the use of modelling software, and successful laboratory and site trials have been undertaken. The research has shown that the proposed approach is capable of determining the bolt length, and of identifying major defects such as necking, deformation, and loss of resin encapsulation.
