In a previous study, a new hybrid system of molten carbonate fuel cell (MCFC) and homogeneous charge compression ignition (HCCI) engine was developed, where the HCCI engine replaces the catalytic burner and produces additional power by using the left-over heating values from the fuel cell stack. In the present study, to reduce the additional cost and footprint of the engine system in a hybrid configuration, the possibility of engine downsizing is investigated by using two strategies, i.e. the use of a turbocharger and the use of high geometric compression ratio for the engine design, both of which are to increase the density of the intake charge and thus the volumetric efficiency of the engine. Combining these two strategies, we suggest a new engine design with ∼60% of displacement volume of the original engine. In addition, operating strategies are developed to run the new hybrid system under part load conditions. It is successfully demonstrated that the system can operate down to 65% of the power level of the design point, while the system efficiency remains almost unchanged near 63%.  相似文献

利用CAD软件对增压器的压气机叶轮进行了三维实体造型,并运用有限元分析软件I-DEAS对叶轮进行振动特性分析,得到了叶轮在不同转速下的固有频率值及相应振型,通过Matlab软件绘制Camp-bell图,找到了叶轮容易发生共振时的转速和激振频率.从而为该增压器叶轮的优化设计提供依据.  相似文献

利用有限元分析技术对某机型柴油机增压后的机体、缸盖、曲轴、主轴承盖、缸套等柴油机主要零部件的组合部件进行了结构强度和刚度分析。根据分析结果对薄弱部位作了改进设计,并对改进后的设计进行了效果评估,结果表明,改进后的机体取得了预期的效果。  相似文献

The issue of internal combustion engine (ICE) diagnosis attracts great interest because modern engines need continual control of the operational status, in order to obtain high efficiency in energy conversion and accurate control of the polluting emissions. In particular, in reference to an alternative ICE of 1 MW, the present study relates the development, through the design of neural simulators, of the turbocharger maps to reproduce the operational states characterized by new&clean conditions and allowing the evaluation of particular “health state” indices of such a module. In detail, after an experimental campaign, turbocharger fundamental characteristics referred to new&clean conditions, such as the compressor isoentropic efficiency and the mass flow elaborated by the turbine, were evaluated at different operation conditions of the alternative ICE Subsequently, the neural simulators were developed through the training and test of different neural architectures.  相似文献

This paper presents a meanline model to predict the performance parameters of a turbocharger turbine under steady state conditions. The turbine was developed at Imperial College and the design was based on a commercial nozzleless unit that was modified into a variable geometry single-entry turbine.The wide range of tests data from the Imperial College Turbocharger Group dynamometer enabled the evaluation of the model in the areas of the turbine map where currently no previous comparison had been made in the literature. This facility is designed to allow testing over a wide range of velocity ratios (0.3-1.1) previously unavailable with conventional test stands.The nozzleless turbine model was validated against experimental results spanning an equivalent speed range of 27.9 and 53.8 rev/s √K while for the nozzled case the model was validated against one single speed (43.0 rev/s √K) and three different vane angle settings (40°, 60° and 70°).The results of the model simulation showed that the performance can be predicted with excellent accuracy for different turbine speeds and vane angles. Based on the model prediction, a breakdown aerodynamic loss was performed.  相似文献

Mathematical models were applied to predict the results of different strategies to improve automotive fuel cell driving systems. First, a fuel cell system was optimized on the base of a fuel cell stack model. Then calculations about the utilization of recovered energy from air exhaust steam were carried out. Two methods to combine the turbocharger with an electric compressor, namely in series and in parallel, were evaluated for a fuel cell system. Finally, research on the effect of removing the big power DC/DC converter, which is located between the fuel cell system and the driving motor, was conducted for a fuel cell driving system. The main results show that it is highly advantageous to connect the turbocharger with an electric compressor in series than in parallel; and that the fuel cell driving system without DC/DC converter before its motor could reach much higher performance characteristics, and even be so in lower power range while the cell voltage was designated to be lower.  相似文献
