Breakdown characteristics of oil and paper insulation for a very fast transient voltage

This paper describes the dielectric breakdown characteristics of oil and oil‐impregnated paper for very fast transient (VFT) voltages. Blumlein circuits generate VFT voltages of 60 and 300 ns in a pulse width that simulates disconnecting switching surges in gas‐insulated switch gears. We measured the breakdown voltages of needle‐to‐plane, plane‐to‐plane oil gaps and several pieces of paper between plane electrodes for VFT and lightning impulse voltages. The measured data were formulated in V‐t characteristics and Weibull probability distributions. The inclination n of V‐t characteristics of insulating paper is 150, which is less than n = 13.7 of the plane‐to‐plane oil gap in the VFT time range. The shape parameters of Weibull distribution obtained in this study show that the scattering of breakdown voltages of paper is much less than that of oil. © 2002 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. 喷墨打印相纸及打印图像质量的分析

喷墨打印相纸随着数码相机的发展近几年在国内发展迅速。针对目前产品质量没有测量标准的现状,提出喷墨相纸的质量指标主要为4个,即白度、光泽度、油墨吸收性和防水性。给出了相应的测量方法。并指出相纸上油墨点的面积是衡量质量的第一重要指标,其次是点的圆度。另外对图像输出的质量介绍了一种科学的评价方法,即图像的逼真性分析。说明图像的打印墨点直径不应小于方形像素的对角线长,图像才能真实再现。     

Drying of Uncoated Paper with Gas-Fired Infrared Emitters—Optimum Emitters' Location Within a Paper Machine Drying Section

This article theoretically investigates the drying of uncoated paper with gas-fired infrared (IR) emitters installed within the drying section of a given commercial paper machine. Specifically, it presents the ideal location of two opposing IR emitters within the drying section. The ideal location of the two opposing IR emitters corresponds to the highest machine speed with specified average moisture content of paper sheet at the end of the drying section. This article also presents the average evaporation rate, temperature, and moisture content of the paper sheet as it travels through the drying section with the two opposing IR emitters operating at the optimum location. In addition, the temperature and moisture profiles in the sheet thickness direction, before and after the IR emitters, are provided. This article is not concerned with the potential effects of drying with IR emitters on paper sheet properties and machine runnability issues.     

Zeolite synthesis from paper sludge ash with addition of diatomite

BACKGROUND: This study aimed to investigate the synthesis of zeolites from paper sludge ash (PSA) with added diatomite to remove both NH₄⁺ and PO₄^3? for water purification. The PSA had low Si and significant Ca contents. Four types of diatomite: white (T‐W) and brown (T‐B) from deposits of marine origin in Takanosu, and white (S‐W) and gray (S‐G) from lacustrine deposits in Shonai, were added to NaOH solution to increase the Si content and thereby synthesize zeolites with high cation exchange capacity (CEC). RESULTS: The order of the amounts of Si extracted from the diatomite to the alkali solution was S‐W > T‐W = T‐B > S‐G, which correlates with the amorphous SiO₂ content of diatomite. The original ash without addition of diatomite yielded hydroxysodalite with CEC of about 1.0 mmol g^?1. For all samples, the addition of diatomite to the solution yielded zeolite‐P with a higher CEC, but the addition of excess Si inhibited the synthesis of zeolite‐P, and the CEC of the product was low. A product with high CEC including zeolite‐P was obtained in a solution with around 500 mmol L^?1 of Si concentration, and had the ability to remove both NH₄⁺ and PO₄^3?. CONCLUSION: Diatomite has the potential for used as an additive for the synthesis of high CEC zeolite from PSA. The product with zeolite‐P exhibited relatively high CEC, capacity for NH₄⁺ uptake, and the ability to remove PO₄^3? by precipitation, which is preferable for water purification applications. Effect of Li+ ions on structure,properties, and actuation of cellulose electro‐active paper actuator

We have reported an electro‐active paper actuator from regenerated cellulose. After dissolving cellulose fibers with a solution of lithium chloride in N,N‐dimethylacetamide, cellulose was regenerated by combining distillation of cellulose solution along with washing with the mixture of deionized water, isopropyl alcohol, and running water. However, the effect of Li⁺ ions on structure, properties, and the actuation behavior of the actuator was not studied. This article describes the changes in these parameters when the Li⁺ ions are removed by subjecting it to different running water exposure time. The structure and properties of cellulose electro‐active paper and its actuation behavior were studied. As Li⁺ ions content reduced from 4354.17 to 10.26 ppm by increasing the exposure time of running water, crystallinity, Young's modulus, and bending displacement decreased. Details about the investigation have been explained. This elimination of ions is important to increase the piezoelectric effect in EAPap by decreasing the ion migration effect. © 2008 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. J Appl Polym Sci 2008

本文介绍一种新技术——利用茚三酮或DFO加强显现热敏纸张上的潜在指纹。大部分热敏纸张的热敏剂表面,使用DFO或茚三酮石油醚溶液(NPB)显影时将会变黑。显现的指纹和背景之间反差很小。新技术介绍了在指纹和热敏层之间,用丙酮水洗,可以去掉黑色污斑。其它新的化学试剂漂洗,显现的指纹有清晰的纹线和很高的反差。大量使用这种技术,可以使试剂优化,成本降低,短时间内能处理大量检材。工作试剂包括商用、不挥发、含氮的有机化合物,也使用象NPB这样的浸透性试剂。     

Integrated distributed intelligent system for process-control system design

In process-control system design, the Computer Aided Design (CAD) techniques have evolved a new generation of design techniques. This also paves the way for implementing Computer Integrated Manufacturing Systems (CIMS). However, the key issue to accomplishing the objectives in CAD is the automation of conceptual design. This paper first introduces the fundamentals of conceptual design for process-control system design. Then, a strategy to solve the problems in conceptual design is proposed. The associated system configuration and software implementation platform for developing intelligent systems for process control system design are presented. Finally, an application case is studied.

一种智能纸张厚度计设计

根据纸张厚度测量控制系统的功能要求,应用β射线吸收原理,完成了一种智能纸张厚度计设计。它以MSP430FG479为微处理器,具有CAN和RS—485通信接口,具有自检测和自标定功能。给出了系统硬件实现方法,软件设计流程。经实验验证,检测精度达到0.1%以上。该设计方案,换用不同的放射源,可对各种纸和纸板的厚度进行检测,易于操作,工作稳定。
