Liquid-liquid equilibrium for the quaternary system of o-xylene(1)+water(2) +propionic acid(3)+1-butanol(4) at 298.15 K and atmospheric pressure

The liquid-liquid equilibrium for the quaternary system of o-xylene(1)+water(2)+propionic acid(3)+1-butanol(4) was measured at 298.15 K and atmospheric pressure. Binodal curves, tie-lines, a distribution curve, and a selectivity curve for the quaternary system have been determined in order to investigate the effect of binary solvents, oxylene and 1-butanol, on extracting propionic acid from aqueous solution. In addition, these experimental tie line data were also compared with the values predicted by the UNIFAC model. In this study, the UNIFAC model was capable of predicting the compositions of this quaternary system within an average RMSD of 1.13 mol%. This paper was prepared at the 2004 Korea/Japan/Taiwan Chemical Engineering Conference held at Busan, Korea between November 3 and 4, 2004.

Liquid-liquid equilibrium for the ternary systems of solvents+water+propionic acid at 25 ‡C and atmospheric pressure

Liquid-liquid equilibrium data for the ternary systems of toluene+water+propionic acid, o-xylene+water +propionic acid, methyl isobutyl ketone+water+propionic acid, ethyl acetate+water+propionic acid, and 1-butanol +water+propionic acid were measured at 25 ‡C and atmospheric pressure. The reliability of the experimental tie-line data was ascertained by means of the Othmer-Tobias, Bachman-Brown, and Hand correlations. For the extraction effectiveness of solvents, the distribution and selectivity curves were plotted. In addition, these experimental tie-line data were also correlated with NRTL and UNIQUAC models.     

Determination and correlation of LLE and SLE data for the system aniline+cyclohexane

A newly developed laser light scattering technique was used for the determination of mutual solubilities in the aniline+cydohexane system at moderate pressures. The liquid-liquid equilibria (LLE) were measured from the region of solid-liquid equilibria (SLE) to the upper critical solution temperature. Freezing points in this system were determined by a cooling curve method. The solubility data were correlated with the NRTL equation.

论述了合流制排水系统改造为分流制排水系统的主要改造方式。结合上海汉阳排水系统改造工程实例,着重阐述合流制向分流制改造的优势、可能性和实施难度。最后介绍了汉阳排水系统实施两污分流制的设想方案。     

Closure equations in the estimation of binary interaction parameters

Binary interaction parameters used in the UNIQUAC activity coefficient model are found to be dependent on each other and related by a linear relation termed as the closure equation. For a ternary system, six binary interaction parameters are related by one closure equation. Similarly for quaternary systems, three independent closure equations are obtained for the twelve binary interaction parameters and for quinary systems there are six closure equations for twenty parameters. Each closure equation consists of six parameters. The binary interaction parameters that do not satisfy the closure equations may lead to a less accurate prediction of liquid-liquid equilibria. In this work the binary interaction parameters have been estimated with and without closure equations for few ternary and quaternary systems. Parameters that satisfy the closure equations exhibit better root mean square deviation than those that do not satisfy the closure equations in most of the cases. A similar behavior is observed for NRTL model also.

The liquid-liquid equilibrium for the quaternary system of o-xylene(1)+water(2)+butyric acid(3)+ethyl acetate(4) was measured at 25 °C and atmospheric pressure. Binodal curves, tie-lines, distribution, and selectivity for the quaternary system have been determined in order to investigate the effect of binary solvents, o-xylene and ethyl acetate, on extracting butyric acid from aqueous solution. In addition, these experimental tie line data were also compared with the values predicted by the UNIFAC model. It is found that UNIFAC group interaction parameters used for LLE could not provide a good prediction.     

液－液分离水力旋流器特性参数研究

对自行设计的液－液分离水力旋流器进行了一系列室内试验及现场实验，通过原油与水及机油与水两种油水混合介质的分离，系统地研究了水力旋流器几何参数与运行参数对分离效率的影响，提出了一些合理的关系式。在此基础上设计与制造了直径Ｄ为３８ｍｍ及５２ｍｍ两种样机。现场实验证明，该种水力旋流器的分离效率达到９０％以上，且结构简单，可在低压下运行，成本低，能耗少，完全可用于工程实际。     

小球团烧结的生产实践

小球团烧结新技术在１６ｍ＾２环型烧结机上运用后，烧结产量增加、燃料消耗下降、烧结矿质量稳定提高，高炉使用该矿后，增铁节焦效果明显。
