We describe the design process of an affective control toy, named SenToy, used to control a synthetic character in a computer game. SenToy allows players to influence the emotions of a synthetic
character placed in FantasyA, a 3D virtual game. By expressing gestures associated with anger, fear, surprise, sadness and
joy through SenToy, players influence the emotions of the character they control in the game. When designing SenToy we hypothesized
that players would manipulate the toy to express emotions using a particular set of gestures. Those gestures were drawn from
literature on how we express emotions through bodily movements and from emotion theories. To evaluate our idea we performed
a Wizard Of Oz study [1]. The results of the study show that there are behaviours that players easily pick up for expressing
emotions through the gestures with the toy, though not necessarily the ones extracted from literature. The study also provided
some indication on what type of toy we should build, in particular, its ‘look and feel’.

The evaluation of the usability and the learnability of a computer system may be performed with predictive models during the design phase. It may be done on the executable code as well as by observing the user in action. In the latter case, data collected in vivo must be processed. The goal is to provide software supports for performing this difficult and time consuming task.
The paper presents an early analysis of, and experience relating to, the automatic evaluation of multimodal user interfaces. With this end in view, a generic Wizard of Oz platform has been designed to allow the observation and automatic recording of subjects' behavior while they interact with a multimodal interface. It is then shown how recorded data can be analyzed to detect behavioral patterns, and how deviations of such patterns from a data-flow-oriented task model can be exploited by a software usability critic. 相似文献

以轿车车门玻璃升降器为研究对象,阐述了基于知识工程(Knowledge based engineering,KBE)的参数化、智能化车身零部件设计软件的开发过程及其关键技术。玻璃升降器设计系统是在集合最优的UG开发工具和设计方法的基础上,通过二次开发完成的。结合知识驱动自动化、知识熔接技术以及用户定义特征等重要的研究内容, 着重叙述该系统开发的工作流程及其所运用到的相关的关键的UG开发工具(UDU,KF,Wizard UI和UDF)以及有关开发的关键技术。作为基于UG平台而自主开发的车身部件参数化设计专用工具软件,该模块通过设计向导用户界面的设计风格,从实际应用上已经完全实现了车身部件设计的自动化和智能化,从而为车身设计人员提供了专业的智能化设计工具。 相似文献

根据风叶塑料件的尺寸结构特点,对风叶进行成型工艺分析,应用UG Mold Wizard模块完成了塑料件的分型设计及装配图设计。针对原有模具加工成型时出现的问题,重点对浇注系统、推出机构进行了结构改进,设计了环形浇口和瓦型推杆。为了提高工作零件加工制造的精度,型芯、型腔采用了镶拼组合式结构。生产实践证明,改进后的模具成型效果较好,推出机构灵活可靠,产品质量与合格率大大提升。 相似文献

基于μwave Wizard软件仿真腔体交指滤波器的方法,设计了一个中心频率为5.52 GHz,带宽为1.4 GHz的交指滤波器,并采用矩形杆抽头线结构实现。制作的滤波器插损小于1.5 dB,驻波比小于1.7,带外抑制大于40 dB(f0±1 GHz),具有优良的带通特性。给出滤波器的实测曲线和仿真曲线,两者的一致性较好。 相似文献
