网络出版中版权保护技术——文本数字水印的研究

数字版权管理体系中,采用技术手段(数字水印)保护数字产品的版权,阻止盗版、侵权行为日益重要。论文针对eBook网络出版中的版权保护问题,首先讨论了数字水印的必要性及文本数字水印的现状,然后针对网络传播中的关联性和继承性问题,设计了参考模型,提出了一个应用于网络出版各个流程的版权保护解决方案,并对该方案从关联性、继承性、健壮性、实用性等方面进行了评价。     

标文通文档格式到电子书格式的分析与转换

为实现“标文通”（Uniform Office Format,UOF）文档格式到EPUB电子书格式的转换,重点分析了UOF格式和EPUB格式的结构以及两种结构之间的映射关系,并详细设计了转换式样单,提出了预处理与主转换相结合的转换思路。通过构建转换器,首次实现两种文档格式之间的转换,方便手持设备用户浏览UOF文档。该项研究对于文档信息共享,流式文档到电子书的转换和“标文通”国家标准的推广实施具有重要意义。     

Retrieving critical design factor of ebook for older people in Taiwan

Human reading habits have changed in recent years, as the popularity of e-readers has rapidly increased. Consumers are increasingly favoring tablets, smartphones and other digital devices over traditional books. However, population aging is an emerging issue in the world. The percentage of elderly people in the general population in Taiwan is increasing annually, according to the Taiwan Ministry of the Interior. Therefore, designing suitable digital device interfaces for the elderly users is increasingly important. This study adopts group decision-making methods to identify the ebook design criteria recommended by experts, academics and users. The critical factors of ebook design for the elderly in Taiwan are determined by fuzzy Delphi method and Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP). The study compares the recommendations of experts and users, and finds that a cognitive difference between the two groups. These findings provide new thinking for designers of e-readers.     

Making physics education more relevant and accessible via computation and eTextBooks

Various aspects of computational physics education are discussed, including the need for it, its content and various efforts at providing it. Also described is a new eTextBook that incorporates video lecture modules, source and executeable codes, multimedia enhancements and extensive linkages. The first draft is in pdf and can be “read” with a variety of devices.

When discussing eBooks, people generally fall into two camps: they either don't know what eBooks are or know what they are but cannot find them at their local library. 移动电子阅读器面板显示舒适性研究

本文从长时间(单次连续阅读>1.5小时)静态阅读的需求出发,比较了目前适合移动阅读使用的各种显示设备,分析了现有非类纸液晶显示的缺陷,提出了使读者能够长时间舒适阅读,便携式显示设备应该符合的阅读标准。依据此标准设计的产品或系统使用效果表明:能够满足长期阅读要求,与传统纸张阅读舒适性相当,由此验证了该标准的合理性和科学性。     

Implicit feedback techniques on recommender systems applied to electronic books

The goal of this research is to define and capture a series of parameters that allowed us to perform a comparative analysis and find correlations between explicit and implicit feedback on recommender systems. Most of these systems require explicit actions from the users, such as rating, and commenting. In the context of electronic books this interaction may alter the patterns of reading and understanding of the users, as they are asked to stop reading and rate the content. By simulating the behavior of an electronic book reader we have improved the feedback process, by implicitly capturing, measuring, and classifying the information needed to discover user interests. In these times of information overload, we can now develop recommender systems that are mostly based on the user’s behavior, by relying on the obtained results.
