The forward search provides data-driven flexible trimming of a Cp statistic for the choice of regression models that reveals the effect of outliers on model selection. An informed robust model choice follows. Even in small samples, the statistic has a null distribution indistinguishable from an F distribution. Limits on acceptable values of the Cp statistic follow. Two examples of widely differing size are discussed. A powerful graphical tool is the generalized candlestick plot, which summarizes the information on all forward searches and on the choice of models. Multiband frequency domain synthesis consists in the minimization of a finite family of closed-loop transfer functions on prescribed frequency intervals. This is an algorithmically difficult problem due to its inherent nonsmoothness and nonconvexity. We extend our previous work on nonsmooth H synthesis to develop a nonsmooth optimization technique to compute local solutions to multiband synthesis problems. The proposed method is shown to perform well on illustrative examples.  相似文献

An NP-hard production–distribution problem for one product over a multi-period horizon is investigated. The aim is to minimize total cost taking production setups, inventory levels and distribution into account. An integer linear model is proposed as a compact problem specification but it cannot be solved to optimality for large instances. Instead of using a classical two-phase approach (production planning and then route construction for each day), metaheuristics that simultaneously tackle production and routing decisions are developed: a GRASP (greedy randomized adaptive search procedure) and two improved versions using either a reactive mechanism or a path-relinking process. These algorithms are evaluated on 90 randomly generated instances with 50, 100 and 200 customers and 20 periods. The results confirm the interest of integrating production and distribution decisions, compared to classical two-phase methods. Moreover, reaction and path-relinking give better results than the GRASP alone.  相似文献

The Kronecker tensor-product approximation combined with the -matrix techniques provides an efficient tool to represent integral operators as well as certain functions F(A) of a discrete elliptic operator A in ℝ d with a high spatial dimension d. In particular, we approximate the functions A −1 and sign(A) of a finite difference discretisation A∈ℝ N × N with a rather general location of the spectrum. The asymptotic complexity of our data-sparse representations can be estimated by (n p log q n), p = 1, 2, with q independent of d, where n=N 1/ d is the dimension of the discrete problem in one space direction. In this paper (Part I), we discuss several methods of a separable approximation of multi-variate functions. Such approximations provide the base for a tensor-product representation of operators. We discuss the asymptotically optimal sinc quadratures and sinc interpolation methods as well as the best approximations by exponential sums. These tools will be applied in Part II continuing this paper to the problems mentioned above.  相似文献

This paper deals with output feedback stabilization and H 46x91nkbg/xxlarge8734.gif" alt="infin" align="MIDDLE" BORDER="0"> control problems for two-dimensional (2-D) discrete linear systems without or with parameter uncertainty. The class of systems under investigation is described by the 2-D local state space Fornasini-Marchesini second model. We aim at designing a dynamical output feedback controller to achieve asymptotic stability and H 46x91nkbg/xxlarge8734.gif" alt="infin" align="MIDDLE" BORDER="0"> performance for the 2-D system. It is shown that the design of output feedback controller can be recast into a convex optimization problem characterized by linear matrix inequalities (LMIs). The LMI solution is further extended to solve the robust stabilization problem for 2-D systems subject to norm-bounded uncertainty. The solutions for the H 46x91nkbg/xxlarge8734.gif" alt="infin" align="MIDDLE" BORDER="0"> control and robust stabilization are applied to two application examples: thermal process control and robust stabilization of processes in Darboux equation.  相似文献
