We have experimentally investigated the nature of heat leaks in Dewar vessels with multishield insulation systems which utilize the ‘cold’ of the stored cryogenic liquid's vapour. The temperature dependence of the thermal conductivity was determined for diagonal layer type insulation. This insulation uses aluminium foil and synthetic paper consisting of a mixture of polyethylene terephthalate and cellulose fibres. The temperature ranges investigated were 77–293 K and 4.2–293 K, using nitrogen or helium vapour, respectively, for cooling. The influence of the design parameters of vessels on helium evaporation has been studied analytically. 相似文献
