An anthropocentric approach to knowledge-based preventive maintenance

It is common knowledge today that application of sound manufacturing concepts and techniques will only provide cost-effective, long-term return when manufacturing functions are totally integrated with the operators, maintenance engineers and other associated personnel. This paper presents a human-centred methodology and its associated knowledge-based tool, to utilize equipment failure information for the purpose of machine down-time minimization. Based upon a structured and rigorous assessment of each breakdown, and combined with total employee participation, continuous improvement of maintenance function and operational effectiveness of equipment can be made a reality.     

油田企业优化备件管理的设想

针对油田企业装备设施系统备件管理的庞杂性，提出了4种优化备件管理的设想。在备件分类管理、库存管理模式及备件供应环节和管理流程上，结合计算机辅助技术，形成优化管理模式。提出的优化思路可以运用于石油石化企业的备件管理中，改进业务流程，促进物流管理一体化。     

A sequencing problem for a mixed-model assembly line in a JIT production system

In an assembly line of a just-in-time (JIT) production system, workers have the power and the responsibility to stop the line when they fail to complete their operations within their work zones. This paper deals with a sequencing problem for the mixed-model assembly conveyor line in the JIT production system. In some environment, the most important criterion is the line stoppage rather than the variation of production rates. The problem is to find an optimal sequence of units that minimizes the total line stoppage time. Lower and upper bounds of the total line stoppage time are derived and the branch-and-bound method is applied to the problem. A numerical example is given.     

Implementing a hybrid simulation model for a Kanban-based material handling system

Plant floor material handling is a loose loop in most assembly plants. Simulation offers a quick, controllable and tunable approach for prototyping complex material handling processes in manufacturing environments. This paper proposes a hybrid simulation approach, using both discrete event and agent-based technologies, to model complex material handling processes in an assembly line. A prototype system is implemented using a commercial multi-paradigm modeling tool. In this prototype, JIT principles are applied to both the production and the material handling processes. The system performance is evaluated and system optimization directions are suggested. The proposed hybrid modeling approach facilitates the implementation of a responsive and adaptive environment in that various “what-if” scenarios can be simulated under different simulation configurations and real-time situations.

提出一种应用于即时编译器中的代码生成优化技术——代码消极生成机制,结合Intel微处理器研究院的XORP虚拟机对该项技术进行了阐述。介绍了XORP中实现的其他轻量级优化算法,并采用EEMBC对不同虚拟机和不同优化进行了科学评估。采用该项技术的XORP虚拟机的运行速度为KVM的15倍以上,超过其他商用高性能虚拟机。     

Just-in-time defect prediction for software hunks

Just-in-time defect prediction can remind software developers and managers to verify and fix bugs at the moment they appeared, thus improving the effectiveness and validity of bug fixing. Existing studies mainly focus on just-in-time prediction for software files (JIT-F). JIT-F is a binary classification problem, which classifies (hence predicts) a file change as buggy or clean. This article provides a detailed analysis of just-in-time defect prediction for software hunks (JIT-H), which predicts bugs at a finer level of granularity, and hence further improves the efficiency of bug fixing. Classification is performed using the ensemble technique of bagging—aggregated combinations of random under sampling plus multiple classifiers (J48 and Random Forest). An empirical study with 10 open source projects was conducted to validate the effectiveness of JIT-H. Experimental results show that JIT-H is effective at predicting defects in software hunk changes. Compared with JIT-F, JIT-H is more cost effective. Additionally, analysis on the change features indicates that Text Vector features and hunk change level features are of more importance than features in other groups and levels.
