Results of calorimetric investigations performed on two groups of glasses, viz. As-Te-Se and Ge-As-Se, are described. The glass transition temperatureT g and specific heat at constant pressureC p of these two families of glasses have been determined using a differential scanning calorimeter. The composition dependence of glass transition temperature and variation of heat capacity during transition are discussed.  相似文献

Heat capacity data for compounds located in the binary CaO–SiO2, CaO–Al2O3 and MgO–Al2O3 systems are fitted by Debye-Einstein integrals. Starting from the fitted heat capacities, the standard values of the thermodynamic functions of these compounds are calculated. In almost all cases investigated, the derived standard entropies are within the uncertainties of the values provided in literature. The Debye-Einstein coefficients obtained in this thermodynamic assessment can be used to approximate the heat capacities, enthalpies and entropies of these compounds in the temperature range from 0 to 298.15 K.  相似文献

A new facility for the measurement of AC loss in superconductors at high dB/dt has been developed. The test device has a spinning rotor consisting of permanent magnets arranged in a Halbach array; the sample, positioned outside of this, is exposed to a time varying AC field with a peak radial field of 0.566 T. At a rotor speed of 3600 RPM the frequency of the AC field is 240 Hz, the radial dB/dt is 543 T/s and the tangential dB/dt is 249 T/s. Loss is measured using nitrogen boiloff from a double wall calorimeter feeding a gas flow meter. The system is calibrated using power from a known resistor. YBCO tape losses were measured in the new device and compared to the results from a solenoidal magnet AC loss system measurement of the same samples (in this latter case measurements were limited to a field of amplitude 0.1 T and a dB/dt of 100 T/s). Solenoidal magnet system AC loss measurements taken on a YBCO sample agreed with the Brandt loss expression associated with a 0–0.1 T Ic of 128 A. Subsequently, losses for two more YBCO tapes nominally identical to the first were individually measured in this spinning magnet calorimeter (SMC) machine with a Bmax of 0.566 T and dB/dt of up to 272 T/s. The losses, compared to a simplified version of the Brandt expression, were consistent with the average Ic expected for the tape in the 0–0.5 T range at 77 K. The eddy current contribution was consistent with a 77 K residual resistance ratio, RR, of 4.0. The SMC results for these samples agreed to within 5%. Good agreement was also obtained between the results of the SMC AC loss measurement and the solenoidal magnet AC loss measurement on the same samples.  相似文献

The effects of an osmotic dehydration process using sucrose and maltose solutions at 40 and 60 °Brix on microscopic features and some mechanical and thermal properties of guava tissue were studied. Also the addition of calcium lactate to the sugar solutions, aiming at preserving the structure of the processed fruits, was investigated. The guava texture (stress at failure) and the structure as observed by light microscopy were both evaluated, and differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) was used to verify the interaction between calcium ions and cell wall pectin in the guava tissue. The calcium content of the differently treated samples was also related to microscopic features, mechanical and thermal properties of guavas. The osmotic process using sucrose and maltose solutions caused severe structural damage to the guava tissue, and this effect was intensified at higher sugar concentrations and by the use of sucrose solutions. The addition of calcium lactate promoted maintenance of the guava structure, showing turgid cells with well-defined cellular contours, resulting in an increase in hardness and indicating bonding between the Ca2+ and cell wall pectin, which was confirmed by the DSC experiments.  相似文献

The qualitative and quantitative assessment of gas flow has become increasingly relevant in the use of everyday systems. The micro flow sensor, developed by Innovative Sensor Technology AG (Switzerland), is by principle a calorimetric flow sensor produced as a micro system on a glass substrate by means of photolithography and glass etching technology. These structures are arranged as a platinum micro heater and sensor in a Wheatstone bridge. The subsequent etching process produces an exposed area of polyimide membrane that is only a few microns thick and includes the resistive sensor structure as the active area. In addition, the RTD (resistance temperature detector) technology included on the sensor allows for the implementation of a variety of electronic biasing and signal processing modes. Since the sensor can be powered and the bridge can be measured in both CTA (constant temperature anemometer) and calorimetric mode, new possibilities are presented for both low and high flow rates with regard to temperature compensation, self-calibration and self-monitoring.  相似文献

An inexpensive and easy-to-build vacuum furnace capable of reaching temperatures in the 1000°C-1350°C region (with modifications the upper limit can be extended) at pressures of 10?7 torr has been constructed. Binary Mg–Ni mixtures and ternary Mg–Ni–C (graphite) samples with fixed proportions of metals (Mg 85%–Ni 15% by weight) and amount of C increasing in increments of 5 wt % from 5 wt % to 15 wt % were prepared by high energy ball milling (BM) in Ar for tBM = 2 h. The purpose of the study was to evaluate the effect of C addition on the reactivity, the sorption activation and the storage performance of the Mg–Ni system.  相似文献

The present work propose a methodology combining acoustic, volumetric and calorimetric measurements in order to characterize thermophysical behaviors of heavy oils under conditions similar to those encountered during their production and/or transportation. Ultrasonic velocity measurements were performed in two heavy oils from 283.15 to 373.15 K at pressures up to 20 MPa. Further volumetric measurements, i.e. density, were carried out in the same ranges while heat capacity was determined at the only atmospheric pressure from 300.15 to 373.15 K. Comparisons between direct ultrasonic velocity measurements and calculated speed of sound from its thermodynamic definition which involves both volumetric and calorimetric measurements exhibit a strong divergence below a temperature of 320 K. This difference between the two sets of data means that thermodynamic consistency is not complete, which can mean a singular thermophysical behavior of such fluids.  相似文献
