Ray tracing has been shown to be an excellent technique for rendering realistic images. However, it is important to reduce the lengthy computation time resulting from the brute-force nature of the original ray-tracing algorithms. In this paper, two ideas are proposed to speep up the well-known hierarchical subdivision method. First, a new hierarchy traversal scheme is described to reduce the number of raybounding volume intersection tests for secondary rays. Then, a plane-sweep method is proposed to make fewer intersection checks for eye rays. Experiments and discussions are presented to prove the feasibility of our methods.  相似文献

Two related ideas for improving the speed of ray-cast volume rendering are studied in this paper. The first is an incremental algorithm for trilinear interpolation, a method commonly used in ray-cast volume rendering to calculate sample values. The incremental algorithm can expedite trilinear interpolation when many samples along a ray are located in one cell. The second is an efficient hybrid volume rendering restricted to parallel projection. In the preprocessing stage, acell template is created to store the information used by the incremental trilinear interpolation. When a cell is parallel projected, the information is retrieved from the template to compute the cell contribution. Because the algorithm with only one template may cause aliasing, an antialiasing technique exploiting multiple cell templates is proposed. With our method, ray-cast volume rendering can be accelerated considerably.  相似文献

Synthesizing realistic images of gemstones requires techniques beyond the scope of normal ray tracing. The fire of such highly refractive objects is what makes gemstones attractive, and also imposes very high computational overhead to perform time consuming dispersive ray tracing. Gemstones are usually cut in polyhdrons as for example, a brillant cut. After a detailed analysis of the nature of dispersive ray tracing of polyhedral objects, we propose here a new method of using three simple rays adaptively to model the ray spreading caused by dispersive refraction. It is shown that the proposed method reduces the computational complexity to an order close to that of normal ray tracing.  相似文献

关于深海环境下声纳目标探测优化问题,针对传统吊放声纳的下放深度比较粗略,一般是在声道轴处上下一定的范围,并考虑目标可能的深度。简单地确定声纳探测深度,会严重减小声纳的有效搜索距离和搜索范围。利用射线模型仿真研究了深海中不同的声速剖面对吊放声纳探测距离的影响。通过分析深海不同声速剖面中的声传播特性,并对声纳、水声环境以及目标的模型化计算,利用射线模型仿真了几种不同声速剖面情况下吊放声纳的主动作用距离,最后分析了吊放声纳入水深度对深海目标主动作用距离的影响。仿真结果表明,改进方法可找到最佳的探测深度,并能够发挥声纳对目标探测性能,得到对不同环境下目标的最好探测。  相似文献

Ray tracing technique is an important tool not only to forward but also for inverse problems in Geophysics, which most of the seismic processing steps depend on. However, implementing ray tracing codes can be very time consuming. This article presents a computer library to trace rays in 2.5D media composed by a stack of layers. The velocity profile inside each layer is such that the eikonal equation can be analytically solved. Therefore, the ray tracing within such profile is made fast and accurate. The great advantage of an analytical ray tracing library is the numerical precision of the quantities computed and the fast execution of the implemented codes. Even though ray tracing programs exist for a long time, for example the seis88 package by ?ervený, most of those programs use a numerical approach to compute the ray. Regardless of the fact that numerical methods can solve more general problems, the analytical ones could be part of a more sophisticated simulation process, where the ray tracing time is completely relevant. We demonstrate the feasibility of our codes using several examples (Miqueles et al., 2013)  [1]. The library can also be used for other applications besides seismic, e.g., optics and tomography.  相似文献

A polygon P admits a sweep if two mobile guards can detect an unpredictable, moving target inside P  , no matter how fast the target moves. Two guards move on the polygon boundary and are required to always be mutually visible. The objective of this study is to find an optimum sweep such that the sum of the distances travelled by the two guards in the sweep is minimized. We present an O(n2)O(n2) time and O(n)O(n) space algorithm for optimizing this metric, where n   is the number of vertices of the given polygon. Our result is obtained by reducing this problem to finding a shortest path between two nodes in a graph of size O(n)O(n).  相似文献

对衰化程度不同的升华型催化剂进行了 X—射线衍射测定。发现在使用过程中催化剂比表面迅速减小,但氯化汞-活性炭催化剂的新旧样品中,氯化汞均保持单层分散。但即将废弃的醋酸锌-活性炭催化剂上,醋酸锌的单层分散情况受到破坏,出现了醋酸锌晶相峰。晶相峰的出现可能与后期使用温度偏高引起烧结有关。晶相峰的出现会降低催化活性,使之不得不被废弃。  相似文献
