Action on SVAC Standards Promotion

正Working meeting of SVAC standards promotion leading group was held on July 21,2014 to speed up the promotion and application of the national standard GB/T 25724-2010,Technical Specification of Surveillance Video and Audio Coding(SVAC).Fang Xiang,the President of China National Institute of Metrology(former Vice-Administrator of SAC),Li Jian and Tan Xiaozhun,the Administrator and Vice-Administrator of Technological Informationization Bureau of the Ministry of Public Security,were present.Experts from relevant technical institutions and representatives from local departments also attended the meeting.The meeting summarized the work have been done by relevant departments,industries and regions since the working group was set up.A lot of impressive progresses have been made in the aspects of the standards system for public security video monitoring governance,the development of key mandatory national standards,the industrialized promotion and local pilot demonstration of SVAC standards,etc.

Computer-aided system for the database storage structure design

An overview is given of a computer aided system for the design of a schema for a CODASYL DBMS. The system helps the designer to trade off between the conflicting objectives; short retrieval time for a user query, low database updating cost, small storage requirements, and low total cost of the system. Different relative weights can be assigned to each of the users query and update transactions, and the design objectives can be assigned different priorities. The model evaluates the performance of the database for a specified set of input parameters and finds the optimal location mode of each database record type. The designer can interactively change any of the design parameters, priority and weights while performing the analysis. The system has been tested on the design of a department store database.     

SAC Delegation Visits AENOR and Signs Cooperation Agreements
