Engineering simulations have opened several gates for today’s chemical engineers. They are powerful tools to provide technical content as physics-based numerical solvers. Augmented reality (AR) and virtual reality (VR), on the other hand, are already underway to digitize environments in many fields. The combination of AR/VR environments and simulations in engineering education has been attracting widespread interest. Literature has demonstrated a massive amount of digital educational environments in several contexts as being complementary to conventional educational methods. Nevertheless, hosting technical content produced by engineering simulations with educational AR/VR is still challenging and requires expertise from multiple disciplines throughout the technical development. Present work provides a facile and agile methodology for low-cost hardware but content-wise rich AR software development. Inspired by the Covid-19 pandemic, a case study is developed to teach chemical-engineering concepts using a liquid-soap synthesis process. Accordingly, we assess and conclude the digital development process to guide inexperienced developers for the digitalization of teaching content. The present contribution serves as an example of the power of integrating AR/VR with traditional engineering simulations for educational purposes. This paper presents a virtual try-on system based on augmented reality for design personalization of facial accessory products. The system offers several novel functions that support real-time evaluation and modification of eyeglasses frame. 3D glasses model is embedded within video stream of the person who is wearing the glasses. Machine learning algorithms are developed for instantaneous tracking of facial features without use of markers. The tracking result enables continuously positioning of the glasses model on the user’s face while it is moving during the try-on process. In addition to color and texture, the user can instantly modify the glasses shape through simple semantic parameters. These functions not only facilitate evaluating products highly interactive with human users, but also engage them in the design process. This work has thus implemented the concept of human-centric design personalization.  相似文献

Mobile augmented reality has gained popularity in recent years due to the technological advances of smartphones and other mobile devices. One particular area in which mobile augmented reality is being used is library management. However, current mobile augmented reality solutions in this domain are lacking in context-awareness. It has been suggested in the literature that agent programming may be suitable at overcoming this problem, but little research has been conducted using modern mobile augmented reality applications with agents. This paper aims to bridge this gap through the development of an agent-based, mobile augmented reality prototype, titled Libagent. Libagent was subjected to five experiments to determine its suitability, efficiency, and accuracy for library management. The results of these experiments indicate that agent-based mobile augmented reality is a promising tool for context-aware library management.  相似文献

在增强现实三维注册中,采用重新检测策略时顿卡现象严重。提出一种采用主监视窗扩展技术的增强现实三维注册方法。在检测阶段,引入特征点可信度和主监视窗,并设计主监视窗的分割、扩展和调控策略,大幅提升了计算速度;在跟踪阶段,采用基于图像金字塔的光流算法进行特征点跟踪。实验证明,该方法不仅有效缓解了顿卡现象,也提升了系统整体的实时性。  相似文献

In this paper, we consider the issue of computing low rank (LR) recovery of matrices with sparse errors. Based on the success of low rank matrix recovery in statistical learning, computer vision and signal processing, a novel low rank matrix recovery algorithm with Fisher discrimination regularization (FDLR) is proposed. Standard low rank matrix recovery algorithm decomposes the original matrix into a set of representative basis with a corresponding sparse error for modeling the raw data. Motivated by the Fisher criterion, the proposed FDLR executes low rank matrix recovery in a supervised manner, i.e., taking the with-class scatter and between-class scatter into account when the whole label information are available. The paper shows that the formulated model can be solved by the augmented Lagrange multipliers and provides additional discriminating power over the standard low rank recovery models. The representative bases learned by the proposed method are encouraged to be closer within the same class, and as far as possible between different classes. Meanwhile, the sparse error recovered by FDLR is not discarded as usual, but treated as a feedback in the following classification tasks. Numerical simulations demonstrate that the proposed algorithm achieves the state of the art results.  相似文献

针对当前基于视觉的增强现实系统标记大、成本高的缺陷,提出一套结合简单组合标记的增强现实系统的实现方案.基于弱透视模型,以色彩和形状作为融合特征,研究了利用冗余特征实现标记物体的3D位姿还原方法.为使配准方案能够适应普通的视觉采集设备,提出根据摄像机标定时得到的扭曲参数对渲染后的模型进行再扭曲的配准修正方法.结合OpenCV和OpenGL中的空间变换的概念,给出了虚拟和物理世界配准融合的解决方案,并基于统计学数学模型,提出降低配准时的误差以及提升配准稳定性的方案.实验结果表明,提出的算法能有效地将静态标签的抖动降低至亚像素级.  相似文献

基于位置服务发展迅速,利用增强现实技术开发LBS系统,对人机界面与GIS服务整合具有重要的理论和现实意义。在此基础上,设计一个空间信息服务的构建与发布机制,利用智能终端配备的传感装置,在Android平台手持设备下扩展增强现实功能,融合真实场景和虚拟信息,搭建远程Web服务器完成数据交互,得到整体基于Web服务的LBS原型系统。  相似文献

Augmented Lagrangian coordination (ALC) is a provably convergent coordination method for multidisciplinary design optimization (MDO) that is able to treat both linking variables and linking functions (i.e. system-wide objectives and constraints). Contrary to quasi-separable problems with only linking variables, the presence of linking functions may hinder the parallel solution of subproblems and the use of the efficient alternating directions method of multipliers. We show that this unfortunate situation is not the case for MDO problems with block-separable linking constraints. We derive a centralized formulation of ALC for block-separable constraints, which does allow parallel solution of subproblems. Similarly, we derive a distributed coordination variant for which subproblems cannot be solved in parallel, but that still enables the use of the alternating direction method of multipliers. The approach can also be used for other existing MDO coordination strategies such that they can include block-separable linking constraints.
